Best Breakfast with great service! Love Love Love this place! Staff is the best:)!

Worst

I had high hopes for this place judging by the number of people lined up outside the door on the weekends. I finally had a chance to stop by on a Monday morning when it wasn't too...

GREAT! Hollendaise! 6/25/2009

Or, in a terrible neighborhood, equally far from town (Crooklyn Dark). But, Vicki (sp?) at New Hope is an absolute doll. She was so nice to us and stuff. The eggs were NOT hard yolk as ordered, but nothing else at all was wrong. Needs pie. Otherwise PERFECT! Pros: LOVES the benedict, lots of vegetarian options, CHEAP! Cons: In the middle of f'n nowhere (New Hope), more

First Timer 2/21/2009

I went for the first time on a Saturday for a Noon breakfast. They were super busy which made me think it must be really good. WON--DER--FUL! I have never had such a good breakfast. The eggs were so delicious and needed no seasoning. It was way more food than we could eat and at a great price. No more Perkins for me! Pros: Great food, great price, good service Cons: very small spot. needed more elbow room. more

Good Food-Lousy Service 9/1/2008

I just ate here. It was good food but both workers we came into contact with made me feel like they couldn't wait for us to leave. Maybe because it's Labor Day? It wasn't that busy though. This was at the one in New Hope too...\r \r Our server never came back to check how things were and she was terrible at following directions. (wanted lemonade in our ice tea and tomatoes on the eggs benedict. \r \r Ahhhh well. I guess I expected more when they won best breakfast. But the food was good...and it beats Perkins any day... more

Welcome to Brooklyn Park's new breakfast and lunch restaurant 6/19/2008

Welcome to Brooklyn Park. We used to have to drive to New Hope, but now Fat Nat is just down the street. Couldn't come at a better time with the high gas prices. No matter what you order, you will be well satisfied with the quality and quantity of their food. A great place to take your guests, and also a great place to take your family and the grandkids. Menu gives endless options. \r \r Their raspberry French Toast is one of my favorites. Pros: Lots of space, good service, easy parking Cons: Would like a Senior Menu for smaller portions more

Best Breakfast Around 6/16/2008

Awesome food and a great family owned diner. You will bring home leftovers. The family friendly atmosphere and high quality food wil bring you back again and again. Pros: Great Breakfast food and Awesome Super Sized portions Cons: Could have a little wait, but worth it more

Best Breakfast Ever 5/14/2008

Fat Nat's is THE BEST breakfast restaurant I've ever eaten at (and I eat a lot of breakfast). Wonderful eggs, sausage and coffee. As far as I'm concerned, Nat and his crew set the standard for hash browns! The portions are HUGE and the price is not. The burgers are great too; esp the mushroom & swiss. The staff are always friendly and efficent (even when the place is packed). Keep up the fabulous work, guys! Pros: Amazing breakfast food, great coffee, not expensive at all Cons: Can get really busy during peak breakfast and brunch hours (b/c the food rocks!) more

you have got to eat here 4/29/2008

come one come all - people in the north suburbs (bp, bc, mg, osseo) you have got to get in your carsand try this place called fat nats. it is in a strip mall in brooklyn park. (by festival foods) the food isterrific and the service is wonderful. i know every who tries this breakfast/lunch place will be back. the food are huge portions and it is good home cooked food. make sure you're hungry - lunch menu looks good but did not try it yet. if you like eggs of any sort this place is for you. i'm not sure how many people even know it is open because they have not done any advertising but take it from me it is worth your trip\r bon appetite!!!!!!!!! Pros: good home cooked food - big portions - moderate pricing Cons: none more

best breakfast in the area - brooklyn park 4/28/2008

The newly opened Fat Nats in B.P. was terrific. I think people in the area will love it, especially since there is no restaurants in Brooklyn Park. It is roomy and the service was great. Huge portions and very tasty. Pros: great food no other breakfast spots in brooklyn park Cons: coffee could of been a little hotter more

Hands Down-Best Breakfast spot in Cities 3/8/2008

I love Fat Nat! The Food is Amazing. This is not a greasy spoon, he chooses quality ingredients and cooks them to perfection. I especially love his pancakes, he must add a hint of lemon in them. Great service always. Pros: Amazing Food Cons: Can be busy at times more

Best breakfast in the Twin Cities 12/24/2007

We've been visiting Fat Nat's for over two years now. Never a bad meal and the service is always excellent. The omelets are outstanding and by far the best in town. Quality ingredients make the difference. Weekend breakfasts can be busy, so plan accordingly. Weekday lunches are less crowded. Pros: High quality ingredients, great service Cons: Busy on weekends more

Still The Best! 7/9/2007

Been going to Fat Nat's since they opened a couple years ago. While that may make me biased, what really counts is that the quality and flavor of their food has remained very high -- just can't beat their excellent omelets! Other items to recommend: great burgers, better-than-Mom's egg salad sandwiches, and kid approved (and parent stealing) chicken. Staff are friendly and pretty much universally pleasant. Best part is, all of these qualities are just as evident now as when they opened. Highly recommended. Pros: Food, Food, Food! Oh, and great staff... Cons: Can get very busy -- though longest wait in the last 3 years has been less than 30 mins more

FanFlippingtastic! 6/24/2007

Sunday morning 10:00~ We were greeted by huge smiles. We had a 7 minute wait for a table of four. Our waitress was right there and was friendly and just plain happy. The coffee was great. The kids ordered hot chocolate and it was served with a mountain of homemade whipped cream that was out of this world good! The food came so fast I was amazed. Seriously never had food on the table this quickly ever. We had a made to order omelet it's enormous and cooked perfectly. Biscuits and Gravy and weekend special and guess what..it's real gravy not some milk mix...Paula Deen would be proud Ya'll. Of course we had bacon crispy and tasty. The home fries and hash browns were great. The pancakes were fluffy and really good. It was the best breakfasts we've had in a very long time. Pros: Absolutley everything Cons: Not one thing more

Best Breakfast with great service and prices 8/29/2006

I recently discovered Fat Nat's Eggs and it is now my favorite restaurant for breakfast. I have been back a dozen times now and I have not tried everything on the menu. The selection of Benedicts is great as is the boneless pork chop that I love to order with my over easy eggs. It is done perfectly everytime, not cooked to death like many restaurants do with pork. I find the prices very reasonable for the high quality of food that is being served. Friendly, fast service, I am never disappointed. Thanks Nat for giving us such a great place to start our day. Pros: Great selection, good value. Cons: Hard to get in at peak times. more

Great food and service 8/17/2006

I go to Fat Nat's about once a month. The food is always top notch. Fast, courteous, service and good prices. Pros: Great food and service. Cons: Seating more

Best Breakfast + Value 7/13/2006

Found this place almost by accident and after having lost so many of the Twin Cities great small diners over the last twelve years it was great to find a place that remembers HOW breakfast is DONE! Only two other places that know breakfast remain in the Twin Cities...but this is number one and a long way for us to go to get it because we are way down in Bloomington. Pros: Perfect eggs, toast, hashbrowns and pretty decent sausage links - the old Joan's Log Cabin had the best but they are now gone. more

Best of the Best... 6/25/2006

Service is second to none. \r I started coming in the day Jeff opened, and will continue to do so\r until I am \r dead.\r The food is great and I love the counter for socializing.\r The conversation ranges from politics to \r whatever is on the front page.\r Love ya, El Jefe... Pros: Conversation and Coffee Cons: None what so ever more

Treat you like family on your first visit 5/21/2006

The ingredients are fresh daily and the meals reflect this. The owner Jeff Nat is there everyday it seems and the staff he has treat you like family. The service and staff are excellent, and the food is even better. Very casual dining and very very fair prices for some of the best food in the cities. The two down sides are that they close sometime in the early afternoon every day and the juice isn't the same quality as all the cooking ingredients. It is from a bag or something like that. Some Martinelli's apple juice and other juices of that quality would be better suited. Used to be tiny but has expanded so no more huge waits. The eggs benidict (all of the different styles) are second to none...thus far. They can and will accommodate for large groups. Pros: Staff, Food, Service Cons: Hours, Juice more

by far the best of the best in the Twin Cities for breakfast and lunch 11/16/2005

If you are looking for ""real food"", fresh food, unusually conceived breakfast items, Fat Nat's is the place. From the varities of eggs benedict, to southern style bisquits and gravy, ingenious mexican huevos rancheros (with the best homemade salsa on the planet), to special blueberry pancakes and rasberry french toast, you can choose something different, unique and wonderfully tasty, every time you come to this friendly restaurant. All ingredients are carefully chosen by Jeff Nat, the owner operator. His attention to the detail and quality of the food that he uses in his dishes are the reason why customers continue to keep the place buzzing with conversation and a sense of having a very special experience eating here. Don't forget the hand made soups, pulled pork, hot turkey and beef sandwiches, as well as the best sized and quality hamburger to be had in the Twin Cities. Pros: Great Value, Friendly Service, Priced Right Cons: None, None, None more

A classic breakfast...cheap! 6/13/2005

Fat Nat's Eggs is a refreshing diversion from the bland chain fare found in suburbia. The menu isn't surprising, but the quality and portion size are fabulous. Long waits on weekend mornings are a sign of something great! Pros: inexpensive, large portions, delicious food Cons: bad coffee more

Great food served with a smile. 6/13/2005

As a trained chef, I have a passion for good old home cooking, and it doesn't get any better than Fat Nat's. Our great little american diners are fast becoming a thing of the past. It truely is sad, we shut them down and open up another franchise with the same old sub-par food. And people flock to them because everyone else does. Jeffery Nat has a gift he is willing to share with anyone who comes in the door. So come in, sit down and relax, as the friendly staff takes care of you, while ""Fat Nat"" put his gift to work preparing one of the best ""real meals"" you can find. You will leave with a full belly and a smile on your face. This is after all, what a resturant should be. Real people, serving real food, with a passion for both. Pros: Outstanding food, Great service more
