Worst

Prices are higher than most. I my situation, I was told that I needed struts and it would $950.00 and a tuneup for $400.00. I brought the car to the dealer and was charged $480.00...

GREAT AUTO SHOP! 10/6/2011

I am a teacher in Baldwin and I have gone to Family Auto a number of times. They have always been fantastic. Once they checked my car's faulty alarm system and found it to be bad. They said they could remove it, but they don't install new ones. They actually recommended I go to an audio shop to get a new alarm system (where removal of the old system is included in the price)! They didn't charge me a dime! Then just today I had a nail in my tire. I went there during my lunch and the patched my tire in 5 minutes! I highly recommend this auto shop! more

Modern up to date shop 2/3/2010

I was having transmission troubles and was shopping for a low price when i called Family Auto.They suggested i bring it down for a free inspection.I was already getting quotes of 1800.00 to 2400.00 dollars already and was ready to get it done by whoever had the best price and warranty.Steve stated that the car needed a software upgrade.(wh ever heard of this?) He said it would be about 125.oo dollars and if it didnt work,he would refund it.So i took a shot..That was 4 months ago.Transmission is fine.How did the transmission shops not know this? I went back and asked and they said they didn't purchase the tool as it was expensive. Family auto is at the cuting edge of technology the transmission shop owner said!!! more

HONEST 12/16/2007

THEY TOOK THE TIME TO REALLY CHECK OUT MY CAR .THERE WERE PROBLEMS THAT OTHER SHOPS DIDNT TAKE THE TIME TO FIND.THEY SHOWED ME GOOD PARTS VS BAD AND KEPT EVERYTHING TO SHOW MY HUSBAND.THEY EVEN E MAILED DIGITAL PICTURES TO ME DURING THE COURSE OF REPAIR.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY REPAIRS THIS IS THE PLACE.YOU CANNOT PUT A PRICE ON PERFECTION. more

Get it right the first time 3/25/2007

I Was charged for a diagnosis in upwards of $70.00, and was given a repair price in upwards of $350.00. I found the part available at a local dealership for $46.00 with a repair price of $60.00. Then found the diagnosis was incorrect. Now I wonder after spending $176.00 + tax, how much Family Auto Service would have charged me over their repair price of $350.00 when the repair didn't work to actually fix the problem? more

Okay, but overpriced 7/8/2005

I went to Family Auto Service as recommended by the AAA membership. I thought I was getting a good deal on my car, however, I realized that I was overcharged for some of the repair they did to my car. For example, one charge was for $19.99 windshield wipers which did not include labor. When I went to an Auto Store I saw the same wipers for $8.99. On the other hand, my car is running smoothly and I have not had any problems so far. more
