F. Tambellini Ristorante is the perfect place to dine any time but oh! so handy if you are going to the Theatre District!\r Besides the delicious food (especially the fried zucchini!), reasonable prices, and friendly service. F. Tambellini has a very generous spirit. We, at St. Joan of Arc Church, thank them for their donation of a gift certificate for our Annual Summer Festival Treasure Chest of Prizes. more

Great Hospitality! Great Food! 10/8/2010

Dear Charlie, Janet and Dwayne, My wife Linda and I were the individuals from Chicago that you so kindly welcomed to your restaurant on Monday afternoon, even though you were closed! Linda and I cannot thank you enough for your generous hospitality and personal attention. We greatly appreciate you opening your locked door and, of course, the fabulous zucchini! We have always told our friends over the years that nobody makes zucchini like Tambellini. Now, we can add to that story that no restaurant's hospitality is greater! We hope to see you on our next visit to Pittsburgh. Best regards, Larry and Linda Gilbert more

Great Supporter & Great Food 7/8/2010

All of the food at F. Tambellini Restorante is wonderful, especially their famous fried zucchini! In addition to having wonderful food, the owners (Charles & Janet) are great community supporters. They generously donated a gift certificate in response to our (the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society) request for an auction item for our upcoming Sample of Station Square. I am sure that whoever is lucky enough to win it will enjoy their meal! more

Generous owners, great restaurant 6/10/2010

F. Tambellini Ristorante has shown generosity to the University of Pittsburgh, Swanson School of Engineering by donating a gift certificate for our 10th Annual Alumni Golf Outing, and also by offering the use of their banquet rooms for future events. The owners have ties to the School (one of them is an alum), and we really appreciate all they've done to help out. \r \r I've had great experiences every time I've been to Tambellini's in the past. I performed with PIttsburgh Opera a few years ago and the cast party was held at Tambellini's. Everything was wonderful. Pros: Convenient location, nice atmosphere more

Perfect for lunch and before the theater! 3/13/2010

There are a few new restaurants in the Cultural District but I have found that Tambellini's on 7th Ave is still one of the best places around for lunch and dinner. I had a fantastic meal before the theater last week which started with the zucchini followed by the Chicken Marsala. My wife usually orders the Chicken Romano but she tried the chicken parmigiana and loved it. The portion was so large that she had enough to eat for lunch the next day. Sometimes I prefer to eat at the bar because the bartender is awesome. I'm looking forward to going back. Check out Tambellini's! Pros: Best Italian food downtown! Cons: Not open Sundays more

LUV the Restaurant 3/3/2010

LUV the Food. We come to the 'Burgh several times a year -- former Sharon, Pa residents, now living in Cleveland, Ohio. IT IS THE BEST FOOD. Really like the stuffed pepper appetizer. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Great staff - we are always treated extremely well. Keep up the fantastic work. Pros: Wonderful Food Cons: Not Open on Sunday more

Not worth it at all 3/3/2010

If you have been thinking about trying out Tambellini's downtown, don't do it! We spent over $70 on 2 extremely average entrees and 2 drinks. The decor is very dated, and gives you the vibe that this place was once ""the place to be"", and is now some kind of sad tribute to the 70's.. While clean looking, the place also smelled very stale. The server wasn't terrible, but definitely wasn't attentive and never once asked how the meal was going (there was only one other couple in the entire restraurant!). Bottom line: huge rip off for a less than average experience. Pros: None come to mind. . . Cons: Way overpriced, dated decor, average food more

F.
