Dr. Lai and Dr. Ho are real knowledgeable, professional, friendly and do not rush through appointments. They use the most up to date equipment, technology and methods. Prices for contacts are competitive and can be delivered direct to your home. Very stylish options for glasses too. I've been a customer for years and will keep coming back. replacing my stolen glasses 12/23/2011

appreciated and loved the service....your office technician replaced and repaired the arms on my old glasses so I would have glasses to use until my new ones came in went above and beyond to give me assistance and I am proud to be a customer/patient at your office......thank you!!!! Very friendly and accommodating 12/22/2011

I was having problems with my eye when I first called the office. They initially couldn't take my appointment because I was trying to schedule it as a regular checkup. Once they found out that I was developing a rash and my eye was inflamed they took me the same day. They were very busy and took me after hours and Dr. Lai explained that my allergies were causing my eyes to swell and prescribed me some drops to alleviate the symptoms. I followed up a few weeks later for a regular check up and to see if my symptoms were gone. This is a great place. I will come again! more

Excellent customer service and frame selection 12/15/2011

We stopped by Eyeworks on Saturday to pick out frames, and the clinic was packed with people. Yet, I received immediate and attentive service. The person who helped me showed me an array of frames, and I was able to find one that was styish, comfortable and within my budget. Very nice experience. more

A great quick checkup! 12/14/2011

It's good to not have bad vision! The computer does a preliminary scan, and then the Dr. does a human check. The computer said one eye was ever so slightly different than last year, but after human inspection, Doc said everything was the same. Very personable and the Doc is patient and willing to explain everything if you're curious. The machine he uses is top notch and quick to help you see what's in front of you. ; - P more

One of the coolest optometrist's around... 12/9/2011

I have been visiting Eyeworks of San Mateo for two years now, and have been seen by both Dr. Ho and Dr. Lai. They are both absolutely great - in their prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses, advice, as well as helpfulness in general. They also have a very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this place very highly. more

Dr. Lai is just great. He's incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and comprehensive in his testing. The equipment in his center is top-notch, so I'm confident I'm getting well tested. And he's somehow speedy but very engaging throughout the process. My husband and I both go to him, and we look forward to seeing him every time. more

Great Service and Friendly People 12/5/2011

I had no problem setting up an appointment at Eyeworks of San Mateo. Everyone that I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. I had never been to an optometrist before, so I was a little skeptical of how this would play out. The woman who did my initial exams was sweet and explained everything to me and Dr. Lai took the time to do further tests, explain everything to me and listen to my concerns without making me feel rushed. They worked with me to make sure that I didn't have to pay too much out of pocket and I look forward to picking up my new glasses this week. Thank you Dr. Lai and staff. You have been very helpful! more
