great lamb chops 8/2/2006

The lamb chops at this place are so fantastic that it is a reason to go by itself. However, I go for the great ambiance. It is open till 11pm, which is definitely not the norm in Palo Alto. The service is satisfactory, though often overly obsequious. more

expensive, but excellent 8/24/2005

this is the best of the expensive restaurants in downtown palo alto (and that's saying something). the ambiance is absolutely perfect as is the food and the service. the prices are no joke. it would be almost impossible to get out of there for less than $40 a person, and why skimp at that point. the wines are also excellent and you might as well splurge. expect a wait, definitely a good idea to call ahead for reservations. more

Best Lamb in Town 4/8/2005

A friend of mine always goes to Evvia for special occasions, but I have to say that Mediterranean food didn't sound particularly appealing to me. However, we all went for her birthday and I was incredibly impressed with the place. Great atmosphere w/a beautiful fireplace and mantle, terrific service - the waiter brought us a "sampling" from their appetizers without us even having to ask, and the food was fabulous. My friends and the waiter kept talking about the lamb which "falls off the bone." They were right - it was incredibly good. While its not like I have lamb all the time, this was easily the BEST lamb I've tasted. All the other dishes were terrific too. Great date night out! more
