Ok, if you are looking for an upscale Bill Knapps, this place is for you. The food is decent. Nothing we had was bad...the duck breast was well cooked (not "well done" but done well.) The calamari was ok. Wine selection is limited, but the shiraz we had (at $7/glass) was decent. Nothing was exceptional. Atlas Global Bistro is so much better (and Fiddleheads used to be better when they had good chefs.)
But the chairs looked like they came from the local Chinese restaurant. The room has no atmosphere. The lights are too bright, the decor is tacky. There is absolutely NO atmosphere in this place. The crowd is a late-middle age to older age crowd. We (nicely dressed to go to a current style restaurant in, say Chicago, ) were definitely out of place. (oh, the looks.) It was like going to an ok restaurant in a really backwoods town. ("Boy, we don't like your kind.)
Did I say the place was really tacky? Really. Sorry, but if you want a good crowd, this is not the place to go. If you are afraid of diversity, of cities, and want a decent meal....you'll probably enjoy. Otherwise, if you've ever been to a place such as Chelsea, the Village, Boystown, Bucktown, etc, avoid. It was worse than what their website (which reminded us of Frankenmuth) depicted..and we weren't expecting much.
Pros: Decent food (nothing bad)
Cons: Completely older, "Bill Knapps" atmosphere
