CC, from Tokyo, is my absolute favorite stylist. Met her about 2 yrs. ago and have been with her ever since. I get tons of complements on my hair and have sent many of clients her way. She's the best for bobs, layered and progressive cuts and is a great color stylist as well. CC is also the one to go to for relaxing treatments. Can't live w/out her. Pros: She cuts really well and is fashion forward herself more

Darlene's great! 10/29/2009

Darlene has been doing my hair for years, and she really knows what my hair will do and what styles will work for me. The great thing for me is her haircuts grow out really well, so even if I can't make it back in for a while my hair will still look good. Pros: Nice atmosphere more

I've been going to Essence since they opened and have been completely satisfied.\r \r My stylist, Eden, is easy to talk to and creative. She is always ready to suggest a change if I ask and her suggestions have always resulted with a great new cut or very cool color.\r \r Pros: friendly atmosphere, good product advise, great nail service more

I'm not sure If I know anyone who has had the nerve to write a review about their OWN workplace , but I feel compelled to do so... I 'm so proud of the fact that I GET TO work at such a beautiful salon - abundantly staffed with such talented hairstylists and simply "" nice people"". We are more like a family than just co-workers, and would step up to help each other before we even get a chance to ask for it. I'm routinely inspired by everyone I work with and LOVE to observe them when I have time between clients...I ( as well as my assistants) ALWAYS learn something during that time. Everyone brings their own uniqueness to the party... I encourage ANYONE ( potential CLIENT and/or HAIRSTYLIST) looking for a new salon to call ""home"", to call ESSENCE SALON as soon as possible and come visit us...You'll be so glad that you did ! Pros: I'm HONORED to work with such amazingly talented people ! Cons: Long commute for me, but I do it GLADLY! more

Darlene is awesome! 10/9/2009

I came to Darlene after years of getting my hair cut and colored at a chain. She is so much more precise with her scissors and she really listens to what her clients want. I always leave with a new 'do and a great attitude! Pros: comfortable, clean, lots of products to choose from more

I have had many hair stylists in my life, but I guarantee that I will never again see anyone else besides Dawn. Her professionalism, knowledge, experience and skill really set her apart. She is more than a hair stylist, she is a hair therapist! She has literally transformed my hair from dry and damaged, to healthy and gorgeous! It is a daily occurrence for strangers to come up to me just to compliment my hair! She is a true expert in her field, and not to mention she is always on time (which is pretty rare amongst hair stylist!) She has really earned a client for life! I would recommend Dawn to anyone - any age, gender, style, or hair type. more

CC, the wonderful hair stylist!! 10/8/2009

I was looking a long time for a japanese hair stylist who can give me an ""anime"" style haircut. Then a good friend referred me to CC and I've been seeing her ever since!! She has great technique and understands the quality of your hair. My hair has never been over or under-snipped. She's a good listener if you're very particular about your hair. In addition, she's super friendly, patient, and funny. She also wears such cute and hip outfits every time I visit. CC is the best hair stylist!!! Pros: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff more

Flattering haircuts for the indecisive 10/5/2009

Both my college-age daughter and I get our haircuts from Eden at Essence. Eden's best thing is giving a cut that flatters your face, works with your hair and how much time you want to spend on it, and looks stylish -- even when you can't tell her exactly what you want. But she'll also follow instructions when you do have specific ideas. I've been coming to Essence for about 5 years, and I trust Eden to adapt my style (and color!) to be appropriate and attractive through middle age and beyond. Pros: Up-to-date but not wacky styles Cons: Not dirt cheap -- but worth it! more

Amanda has been doing my hair for 8 yrs. I couldn't imagine going to a different stylist. she always knows how to do exactly what you want. always puts all of her effort into everything. If i ever have a schedule conflict and need to change my appointment, she always helps me out and will take me when its best for me. Im always getting compliments on the color. It always looks so fresh and never dull! She is always helping me with learning how to do my hair better at home! I love going to Amanda and recommend her to everyone! Pros: Very quiet and relaxing more

Compliments from other stylists 4/15/2009

I travel a lot and have my hair (naturally frizzy) blown out all over the world and I ALWAYS get compliments from other stylists about my color. It really looks great. I go to Tatiana (one of the owners.) She is very accommodating which I really appreciate since I drive from San Diego for cuts and color from her....she's that good. Amanda is the best! 3/26/2009

I had been looking for someone who really understands what I want my hair to look like and can actually make it look the way I want. I have long hair that has always been known to grab color easily and be difficult to work with. Amanda always does what I want and it always looks great! Great Place 3/26/2009

The best cut, color and hair dry around! I can't say enough about the service and the staff, when ever I arrive I am greeted with a smile and an offer of tea, water or coffee! My shampoo always feel like a 15 minute massage and the people there really take the time to make sure I am comfortable and relaxed. I have had my make up done there as well and I was so impressed! I would definately say it is the best salon around! Pros: Feels so welcoming and the best results! more

Fantastic color and cut 3/25/2009

I have been visiting Amanda at this salon for the last 5 years and have referred her to everyone I know and some I don't. I get complements everywhere I go and have been stopped in malls, stores, gas stations, in Vegas and Laughlin asking me ""who does my hair"" and I give out cards. She is the best at creating edgy styles and fabulous at color and weaving. The saloon is very soothing and comfortable and welcoming. I love it. Pros: very comfortable salon more

Excellent All Round! 2/21/2009

I went to the salon for the first time a few weeks ago and Amanda did wonders for my hair! Everyone was SO nice and they made me feel right at home. I am actually going back today to get hair extensions from Nika. I am making Essence my new salon and dropping my other salon I was going to in Pasadena. You should definitely go there! more

i have never felt so at home in a salon before until i experienced essence hair salon. i look forward to my appointments not only for the great service but for the people who work there from the front desk to the manicurist,hairstylist to the owners. i totally recommend essence to everyone !! Wow! I have had the best experience at this salon. I totally recommend it. I had my nails done by Carla. She provides a professional and clean service she is fantastic. My nails were done beautifully and i am very happy i found this salon. Exellent pedicures also. I also had my hair done by Adria and she is very knowledgable and a great hairstylist and colorist. You have to go to this salon the techs are fab! and the atmosphere is amazing...the vibe you get from everyone is great! i had a hair cut by Amanda and a full set of acrylics by Carla i was completely satisfied i highly recommend Essence Hair Salon to everyone.
