I'm new to the area and after reading all the good reviews about Envy, I made an appointment for a haircut. I wanted to get in for an appointment quickly, so I didn't request a specific stylist and was given an appointment with Judy. After I checked in, I went to sit down, but there was a stylist sitting in one of the chairs and another client sitting in the other chair. There were two empty chairs, but the way they were arranged, it would have been difficult to sit without crowding someone, so I chose to stand. The stylist just looked at me, never offered to move, and never asked whether I had been helped. A child, who must have been an employee's daughter, was running around behind the reception counter and came over and told the stylist sitting in the waiting area the "her person was here." Come to find out this stylist was my stylist, Judy. Judy got up, introduced herself to me and we got started. While she worked, she seemed completely disinterested in me. She stared off into the distance while washing my hair and while cutting my hair. She never tried to make small talk, and while I'm not a big talker myself, she just seemed unfriendly and annoyed that I was taking up her time. I have curly hair, but asked her to blowdry it straight and she seemed annoyed by that as well. She proceeded to blowdry my hair without a round brush for a while, just holding the dryer to my hair. When she started using a round brush, she was rough and scratched my neck and ears. Then she teased my hair and sprayed it with hairspray, and at one point she sprayed so much hairspray near the side of my head that it ran down my face.
The cut she gave me was ok, but the service I received was horrible. There may be good stylists at Envy, but due to the poor service and general disinterest of my stylist, it will take a lot to get me back in the door.
Cons: unwelcoming and unfriendly stylist
