I live in Hyde Park so when one of my friends told me that Crystal Nails was a great nail place, I knew I had to try it. I had seen the sign, but really hadn't ever gone in. After her recommendation, I tried it one Friday after work and I was SO PLEASED. Everything is sanitized and they always have enough technicians working so that even if there is a wait, it's not a long one. I typically turn down the spa pedicures, but you CANNOT miss this one. They use a mask, scrub AND the best is the hot stone massage! Your legs will never feel better from just a pedicure. more

I love how upbeat and accommodating it is here. The place is spotless and since they're opened 7 days it couldn't be anymore convenient for me. This is definitely my new stop. Highly recommended! Pros: Service and ambience more

I can't even tell you how many nail salons I've been to - you know... those hole in the walls where they have stuff every where and you just feel stress by being there?! Well I love Crystal Nails because they are by far the most awesome nail salon experience I've had hands down. I'm usually not big on these review thingies but when I heard about the one posted by ""guitargirl2"" I had to say my piece. Sweetie what trailer park did you craw out of? The most you've probably every travelled was around the coffee maker looking for the handle. haha that's so funny that you say they're run down 'cause I started being a client since shortly after the new ownership remodel - and in the 8 months I've been coming here I swear they're always upgrading something. By day I'm a senior RN for Seton downtown so sanitation isn't difficult for me to assess. I noticed that too that there was a smiley face/wink in the headline - what are you like about to break into a mullet fantasia or something? lol - Tell me what mason jar do you pass around for the occasion. There's a difference between constructive criticism and just bashing because you're being hateful - learn it. I'm glad they figured out that you were just another sleazy shop who can't compete (**** *****). Don't be sad 'cause you didn't find that handle - get coffee in a box like you do your wine haha! I went after seeing all of the positive recommendations and the place looked rundown and not what I expected. But I figured, maybe they'll still do a good job on my toes. I told the woman not to cut them too short but she completely butchered them so that I now have an ingrown toenail. Their nail technicians are not nearly as experienced as the other salons I've gone to. I also had polish all over my toes that they had to keep cleaning up with nail polish remover. Ugh! A frustrating and now painful experience! Cons: technicians don't seem to know what they're doing more

I have been a client of Crystal Nails since the opening. It is an amazing place to relax, listen to tunes, have a glass of wine and leave feeling so refreshed from the awesome friendly staff. I have had pedicures before but Tiffany will have you so relaxed you want to stay in the massage chair. The owner (Andy) is the best...his nails beat out any other nail technician. I have been wearing solar nails for years and I swear his work is the BEST. Go visit, you will not ever go to another salon...I promise. I went to Crystal Nails not too long ago, and it was just a wonderful experience. I wish I discovered this place sooner...I would have probably been happier coming here and than going to my other place. The nail techs were so professional and kind, and decor of the salon was like no other. I will definitely return! more

I love the manicurist they really speak English, no joke. I had no trouble explaining anything to them, I told them how I was really picky and I like everything perfect? they gave me perfect service. Having been retail for a long time myself I know what great customer is and honestly a lot nail salons I've been too don't even come close. They usually spend most of their time talking to each other and act like they could care less that you're even there! I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised at how tentative the staff here was. By far the best atmosphere I've encountered in a nail salon - nice but casual and so comfortable. Tiffany makes me wanna fall asleep every time, great great pedi! As a Christmas present for my girl friends and I - I got a group of us manicures and pedicures and it was wonderful. We had such a lovely time, it was such a perfect place to relax and enjoy visiting with my friends. The place was immaculate and the staff was quite accommodating, and you can't beat their pricing. I was amazed at how clean this salon is! Everytime I come it's as if I just stepped in the first day they opened. Unlike my previous experience there's not a bunch of random stuff unorganized and just laying about like used tools or misc. supplies. Down to the very last polish there's a specific place, and you could practically eat off the floor. With health issues being a primary concern in selecting a salon I'm very particular about where I go. Ladies, even if you don't come here wherever you decide to try keep an eye of caution. wow i've never seen so many colors.... they have got to have the largest polish collection in town, most places have maybe one or two racks but they have at least double that and then some - and from what i understand they're still adding on to the selection. i don't think i'll ever have trouble matching again, the only problem is now it might take me a little longer to choose a shade! This is a truly refreshing concept in nail care. Out of the many salons I've been to that's specialized in nails Crystal Nails is by far the most complete package in presentation, professionalism, and great work I've ever seen. My pre-holiday experience was quite delightful. The salon itself isn't some pretentious overly done space that spent more money on decorations then passing it on to the clients; no, this is a well balance of contemporary styling and Austin charm. The staff is friendly and does meticulous work on each and every client. Being herded in and out is not something that you'll endure here. The visit is exactly what it's suppose to be - an experience; a treat that every woman gives herself as a break from stressful urban life. Absolutely wonderful overall. Before I started coming here going to get my nails touched became a real chore. Being something so personal I am somewhat particular about my solar nails but I also do my part and tip well. You know that feeling of trying some place new, you hesitantly walk in in the spur of the moment kinda thing and hope that they don't butcher you. I am so glad I did this time they were so accomodating but not in a cheesy way either. The staff such great and knowledgable advice! Genuine customer service is rare these days in nail salons I usually come across nail techs who give fake smiles and practiced speeches to then turn right around a talk about you in a different language. And no matter how nice of a shop it is that takes away from the experience. When I went to Crystal Nails they really did a good job at putting the whole package together. The shop was nice but not pretentious, the staff was very easy going and professional. I had never been more comfortable in a salon. more

I came in for a two color fill on my solar nails and Andy did an amazing job. They look as thought I just got a brand new set put on! Not only that but they look so natural, this is for sure my new favorite place. Pros: amazing work and price more
