Natural Bridge Caverns 12/8/2010

Experience what it was like for the discoverers of this natural treasure in the 1960’s. The experienced staff will guide you as you climb, hike, rappel, and explore the cavern for 3 hours and 1.25 miles. The Hidden Passages Tour gets “down and dirty”. Gear up and get lowered by rope down a 160 foot well shaft into the cavern. Inside you rappel, climb, and crawl, for 3 to 4 hours by the light of your helmet, 230 feet below ground to the Fault Room and see one of the longest soda straw formations in North America – 14 feet in length; well worth getting dirty to experience. more

Natural Bridge Caverns 12/8/2010

Discover an Amazing World! Discover an amazing world 180 feet underground, Natural Bridge Caverns. See stalagmites, stalactites, flowstone, chandeliers, and soda straws, centuries in the making and still “growing” today. The half-mile Discovery Tour introduces you to this hidden world. The knowledgeable guides will educate you as they tour you through the wonders. The Illuminations Tour encompasses two huge chambers dramatically lit with a state-of-the-art light system to enhance the experience. A unique experience only offered on this tour occurs when guests experience true total darkness. Are these tours too tame for you? f you don’t speak German, that’s “Welcome”, to Fredericksburg in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. They have been blending German heritage and Texan hospitality for over 150 years and have created a place you will want to discover. Known for the peaches and other wonderful crops that include blackberries, strawberries, plums, tomatoes, apples, pecans and grapes as well as a variety of vegetables, plus honey from area apiaries agriculture put the small town on the map many years ago. Being such a great area to produce grapes has recently developed a growing wine industry, with nine wineries a short drive from downtown Fredericksburg.
