English Tea Leaves

We arrived just before 10 this morning and placed our order. 30 minutes later we were still waiting for our drinks and food. We asked for a refund and they said no, so we had to get a to-go order. Not quite the pleasant tea experience we were hoping for. I could live with over-priced if they'd been efficient and friendly, but they were neither. Won't ever go back or recommend this place. more

I took my Mother here last Sunday - we had Groupons. The owner Lynn charged our CC w/out using the Groupon first and then wouldn't credit the charge and use our Groupon. She told us ""you have until September to use it, you can just come back"". I'm not sure if she was having an off day or is just normally so unpleasant. Rob was much nicer, but not nice enough to get us to go back. Nothing was outstanding about this place. The food was good - but none of it is made there, it's all premade and shipped in. You get the feeling you're in a huge cold chain restaurant and not a relaxing, charming tea house. Next time I'll go somewhere more down to earth and friendlier. They really do have a huge variety of custom-blended loose leaf teas. Going here a few years ago is what really got me into drinking premium teas. The owners are nice too. I've only stayed to drink tea and eat crumpets there once and thought it was pretty overpriced, but I have no problem buying one of their delicious teas to take and brew at home. They also have a great selection of cups, kettles, accessories, etc. Fun place to stop by on a Saturday afternoon and look at the tea selection. Pros: Great selection of wonderful teas Cons: A bit pricey if you want to drink tea there more
