We celebrated our anniversary here and my husband and I could not have been happier. We were looking for a venue that was local for our guests since it was the winter and also affordable. Chris and Arthur went above and beyond to make sure our evening was special. Our guests were so impressed with the elegance of the room and the quality of the food. Our Maitre D' Lucy was extremely patient and took care of all our needs throughout the evening and the bartender Jamie was fantastic! We will definitely be back. Thank you Chris and Arthur for making our 25th anniversary party so special and one that we will always remember!!!! \r Love, J & N more

I loved it & it wasn't even my own wedding! 5/7/2012

My girlfriend got married in the garden of the Empire Club in Little Ferry, NJ. When she first said ""We booked it and it's in Little Ferry"" my first thoughts were ""Oh dear Lord, not Route 46"" because I grew up in that neighborhood and so I knew our stereotypical thoughts. Whether it was right or wrong of me, thankfully I was taken by surprise. First of all, the garden wedding was amazing. It was in it's own little serene area that was enclosed yet gorgeously decorated. The cocktail hour began and an hour into it, the dinner began. Chris was their Maitre D for the night which I have to say, he went above and beyond to do his very best and make sure that everything was done to perfection. All of the staff worked hard, were courteous, the place was clean, it has many great places for pictures to be taken. It really all came together quite amazingly and I would recommend this place to anybody looking for an elegant yet top quality service. Thanks again gentlemen and women for all of your hard work. As her girlfriend, I couldn't be more pleased for her and her husband. more

Almost Perfect 5/2/2012

We chose The Empire Club for our 4-21-12 wedding. The very first vendor I secured was the reception venue. I searched high & low to find a place that was reasonably priced and would accommodate our smaller guest list. Several years ago my cousin and a different friend were married here, so I thought I’d check them out. I’m so glad I did! The venue was renovated only a few years ago, so the décor is much more modern. The cocktail room is pretty basic and a decent size. The garden was the perfect place for our family photos. The main ballroom was just wonderful. The décor is neutral enough to go with many different styles. The dance floor is large and there is plenty of room for tables. The chandeliers and sconces added a wonderful touch. I loved that the room came equipped with uplighting that was free. I met with Chris several times who was very kind and accommodating to my long list of questions. I liked that they didn’t have any hidden fees such as extra gratuity, cake cutting fee, cork fee…etc. We were able to work out a price that fit our budget by choosing April, limiting alcohol to beer/wine and paying in cash. We were allowed to bring in our own cupcakes and were discounted the price of the cake. I was very concerned about the food since tastings aren’t done until about 2 weeks before your wedding and I am vegan. I certainly didn’t want dry/boring food. Chris and the chef were very kind and offered me a special tasting in order to accommodate my vegan requests. All of the food was fantastic and the 4 of us left stuffed. Our last meeting discussed every last detail from napkin colors to table numbers. The Maitre’D had it all under control along with my DOC and the Captain who served us was a doll. Overall, the event went beautifully. My only demerit would be regarding the bar. During our last meeting, I clearly stated that I did NOT want a cash bar. We chose to limit the alcohol for reasons other than monetary. Although Chris stated that guests may complain (which they did), he agreed to respect my wishes by placing a mobile bar in the other event if necessary. Several days later, I find out that there was a cash bar. After contacting the venue, Chris explained that the other event in the smaller cocktail room wanted to have a cash bar. Since they were too over packed, they could not fit a mobile bar in their room as I was promised. So, the cash bar was set up on their side of the bar in the hallway. Of course, my guests had no way of knowing that wasn’t for them and went there anyway. I was terribly embarrassed and felt slighted. There is nothing I can do about it now. I understand that the venue felt this was their only option, but I do wish that my wishes had been respected and that I had been notified (even if it was after the fact). If it wasn’t for that, it would have been perfect. more

The Best Decision We Could Have Ever Made 10/20/2011

WE LOVE THE EMPIRE CLUB!\r \r The service, food, ambiance can not be beat. People are still talking about it 7 weeks later! Many friends are looking to host events there too, even another wedding!\r \r The Empire Club is not a wedding factory, they pay special attention to every event they host. The Maitre D and my bridal attendant DON AND CHRIS go above and beyond. Every time the bride turned around Chris was there, she never had to look more than a few feet away. \r \r At the Empire Club YOU DO NOT NEED A WEDDING PLANNER, so save your money! Matter fact add that money to the tip you give them at the end of the night. \r \r We had a five hour cocktail reception style wedding with open bar--best choice ever! The weather was a little iffy and the garden was set up for the outdoor affair, they laid carpeting for more security in the ground since it was damp but the event went off without a hitch! Bridal suite was gorgeous and comfortable...\r \r We used their preferred vendor, Heights Flower Shop, Ray the owner did everything perfectly. The food OMG the FOOD...there was soooo much of it. From Cocktail hour to Dinner. We had more than 20 selections! and the VIENESE...to die for! The Bartenders were amazing too. The older men guests at our wedding raved about it all...many kudos to you guys for serving amazing top shelf drinks! \r \r We did not have not one negative comment about the place and with nearly 200 people there you would expect a few. NOPE, everyone was given attention like if there were only 50 people there.\r \r I, the Bride, run professional fundraising events on the large scale and I can not beleive how perfect this place was! \r \r Thank you Arthur and Chris Yfantis! Your staff is amazing!\r \r a small note--we are very picky about kitchens and cleanlines etc. Not only did I walk through the kitchen to get to where my cake was being kept (baked by palermos bakery incl) prior to the event which was spotless. My groom and I walked through the kitchen to avoid the crowd right between cocktail hour and the reception when that kitchen WAS ROCKING AND IN FULL SWING, and it looked amazing! \r \r Check out a few shots.\r go to youtube and add /watch?v=t0HU_l5fAis to the end...\r \r Yolisse&JamesWeddingPhotos more

Screebee is a Miserable Old Man! 9/30/2011

I just want to comment on Screebee's awful posting. I am a senior citizen from Ridgefield who has lived here my whole life. The Empire Club is one of the few places left that have the courtesy of hosting events for senior citizens from all over New Jersey and they do a great job of it. It is miserable old men like you that give us seniors a bad name. I have been going to The Empire Club with our group for years and not only has the food been excellent every time we've gone, but everyone that works there is courteous and respectful... even to big whiners like Screebee. The price they give for the amount food and drink they give us is great, especially since most of us are on a fixed income. We have the salmon several times a year and the sauce they make with it is exquisite. All of the food is! Your picture looks familiar, Screebee. I think you are the ""gentleman"" that they caught trying to sneak out a bottle of wine in your pants and because you were probably so ashamed of yourself when they stopped you, you try to tarnish the name of a very reputable business who goes out of their way to host great events for us seniors every month. You should be ashamed of yourself Screebee and the rest of us are glad not to see you at another event! more

Horrible, Dreadful, Swill... 2/15/2011

A few days ago I attended a mid afternoon dinner at the Empire Club. My take away is that this was the worst food I've ever been served at what looked like a solid, well established business. It was the stuff that I suspect Gordon Ramsey would have spat out before ordering the place closed. It began with ravioli in vodka sauce, grossly overcooked, bland and disgusting. It was followed by a Caesar salad which I didn't taste. Don't like raw eggs and anchovies though who knows if they even use real ingredients. Then slimy chicken and salmon were brought to the table. The chicken was overcooked, hard and coated with some sort of slime sauce.. The salmon was dry and fishy. The sauce unappealing. I ate a total of three small bites of this garbage. Best advice, avoid this culinary hell hole. Don't give it a second thought. Maybe the next time it serves seniors, the management will think twice about what's being brought to the table. Oh and the ice cream desert had a slice of mystery slime coated apple appended to it. At a cost of $60.00 for two for this inedible swill, this place gets no stars at all from me. more
