Emerald Hills Veterinary Clinic entered into a contractual agreement by providing services and accepting legal payment for such services. A nine year old house cat has been seen by this clinic all of her life for shots, bathing, and nail clipping. Recently, the cat was not walking correctly and seemed lethargic, so a visit to Dr. Tapper was made and he recently diagnoised early stage diabetes. He had administered a "curve" test and sold us insulin and syringes with instructions to administer three units after feeding at the same time each day. The cat was taken to Dr. Tapper for a follow up visit a week later, and after taking a blood sample and doing a glucose test, said the cat's glucose level was not quite up to the right level, and to try four units of insulin a day. He did not perform a curve test for determining the 4 unit dosage. For several days the instructions were followed. Friday, the cat became unable to walk or stir.
