Very expensive 7/1/2009

I had used one of the newer vets in this practice because Dr Tapper wasn't available for my Siamese cat that wasn't eating. I mentioned that the animal had a foul odor coming from his mouth. The vet examined the teeth and gums and proclaimed them "ok" then went on to order $600 worth of tests. The cat was 14 yrs old. One of the animals kidney's was failing and he was put on daily water infusion therapy. This went on for 2 months with me coming back every third week to complain that the cat was not eating solid food and was suffering and that I wanted my beautiful cat put down. They wouldn't do it until, after 2 months and $1200 , they honored my request. After the animal was dead, I looked in his mouth and lifted his tongue. There was a huge tumor on the front part of the underside of the tongue--something that could have been found and removed 2 months earlier and without the suffering the animal went through and, needless to say, without the expense . Pros: Qualified Vets Cons: Too reliant on testing, not enough careful diagnosis more
