I went in to sell an old bracelet I no longer wore, and an earring since I no longer had both. When I questioned the amount being offered for a very pretty bracelet, I was told it was scrap gold since it was hollow and they couldn't sell anything like that. I picked out a pair of gold hoop earrings, similar to what I had and nearly fell over at an astronomical price. For some reason he offered me a great deal, and I was able to barter for a better one and left with new earrings.
What's the problem you ask? They too are hollow! I thought they didn't sell ""cheap"" hollow jewelry?I know gold is a lot more expensive today than it was a few years ago, but come on!
The only reason I actually bought anything from the store was the ""deal."" If you agree to buy from them, you will get 50% more for your ""old"" gold. Example: You bring in $200 worth of ""scrap"" gold, and agree to buy something now or in the future, you get store credit for an extra $100, giving you$300 to buy instead of the $200 you brought in.
