The Restaurant The City Needed 1/23/2006

Eleven is quite possibly the finest dining experience offered in Pittsburgh. Granted, there are other restaurants that are priced similarly, but Eleven is different in the unique, intimate atmosphere. It's very subtle, subdued, and chill. There is a lounge feel to it. It offers a great bar too. Perfect for a romantic dinner or just a great time with friends. I cannot recommend this restaurant higly enough. Their waitstaff was jovial. The food was impeccable. The experience is exquisite. Big Burrito Group outdid themselves on this fine restaurant. more

amazing food 9/22/2005

Eleven is one of Pittsburgh’s latest and greatest hot spots. This restaurant has in a very short time of being open achieved a reputation like no other. This is because of great food, location, and staff. The food is truly delicious, tender elegantly served. The location is great because it is in the heart of Pittsburgh’s historical district. The staff is also very well trained and treat you wish respect. more

Coolest of the Cool 6/2/2005

1150 Smallman Street Pittsburgh, PA 15222 Phone: 412/201-5656 Trendy, comfortable, beautiful and trés chic are the words that come to mind for this rather new restaurant which graces The Strip and is located next to the Pittsburgh History Center. The menu is fabulous, as is the food, with very reasonable portions. Presentation is lovely. Hands down, Eleven serves the best chicken in town. I don’t know what they do to it, but I’ve never tasted anything like it. In my opinion, this restaurant is the place to go if dining alone, something I do often. The bar area is an independent's dream-come-true, with its comfy, overstuffed chairs, aimed directly at the restaurant entrance for easy people-watching, or with the standard stools at the bar. I like the feeling that no one may enter or leave without my knowledge. Oh, the power. That said, in defense of the more usual habit of dining with someone else, how much fun is it to say, "See you at 7 at 11?" more
