On December 24, 2004 our house burned to the ground. While devastated, we felt we had an opportunity to rebuild the house the way we had dreamed it should be. One of these dreams was to rewire with low voltage receptacles to power speakers, alarm systems, and computer systems. We researched several companies to carry this out while the house was being rebuilt. The one company which we felt could meet our need, but provide a quality produce was Electronics World. After talking to Mark we had full confidence in what they were offering and how they would carry it out. The workers who carried out this installation, plus servicing these products over the ten years we have had our system are still working for Electronics World. This not only says a lot for the company, but a lot for our confidence and faith with them. We have grown to know them almost as family. We can recommend Electronics World without hesitation. Their knowledge, products, and dependability are ""top of the line.""\r \r David and Carol Desautels more

We have our church a/v system upgraded by Electronics world and that was worst experience I've ever had for any contractors. Not only their professional skills are poor, with many issues occurred during the course, but also they are very rude treating customers. They kept changing wording and terms, and always demanding payment on site. The salesperson called Ken is particularly difficult to deal with. I don't think it is a honest business entity and advice you to stay away from it. more

goofy return policy 9/25/2012

In an effort to support local audio, I elected to buy a pair of headphones that I could have purchased for $45 cheaper at Best Buy (via rewards program). However, once I got home and tried them, I found that I did not enjoy them. Within 24 hours, I attempted to return the relatively cheap product (~$300.00). Rather than accept the return, the business pointed to their posted return policy (which I unfortunately did not notice when I purchased the headphone). The policy essentially was the manager's whim (all decisions on returns are the manager's) and, if they were to deem it okay to return them, they charge a 15% restocking fee (something I actually was willing to do prior to the denying a return on an item purchased and not damaged about 24 hours prior). While I can sell the headphones myself, I should not have to, thus this store has inconvenienced me in a way that most retailers would not elect to do. I am relatively new to the area and I have always enjoyed supporting local more

Great response. 1/17/2012

Electronics World were very responsive when we were having issues with the equipment. It wasn't their problem, it was highly technical equipment. They dealt with it very well, and professional. I was very happy with the way they made things right. However, I did think some of their charges were innovative. more

Could be better. 1/13/2012

There are several things I don't like about Electronics World, the first is that when they send out a technician to service equipment, they use the method COD, which a successful business owner like me finds rather insulting, it's like a slap in face. Also, a number of the devices they have sold me have had high failure rates. I think they're competent, but their products maybe aren't. If there was an alternative to them in town, I would use them instantly. Louis Marchand more

Very thorough, great customer service and good follow up. 1/5/2012

Overall we were very happy with Electronics World. We got a lot for our money, and a system that we have been very happy with. They have great customer service. more

Electronics World in Gainesville, FL is the BEST!!! 4/11/2011

I just wanted to let everyone know about Electronics World. I just assumed that Best Buy would be cheaper, but I was wrong. I bought all of my surround sound system from EW. The prices were the same. EW was not more expensive. But, what a difference in quality!!! When I compared the same speakers and receiver to the ones at Best Buy, what a difference. The Polk Speakers at Best Buy are not as good as the ones from EW. They must be a lower-end model. The ones I got from EW were way better quality much more heavy-duty. The staff at EW is always very knowledgable and nice to me everytime I have been in their store. The owner personally put together my system, and the sound is super great, its better than being at the movie theater. I will always buy audio and video from them. When you walk in the door at Electronics World, you get service and a guided tour immediately. When I walk into Best Buy, I get a bunch of kids that are too busy talking to their friends to wait on me. I will walk around for a long while and look at them to make eye contact, and they still won't wait on you. Most of the time, if you ask them a question, they won't know the answer. So if you want great service, great knowledge from the staff, and great quality, high end merchandise at the same prices as the other stores, then Electronics World is the BEST!!!\r \r more

CAVEAT EMPTOR 3/7/2011

Electronic's World (EW) service man "Ryan" felt the need to respond to my review so let me again reply. Ryan is protecting himself in this matter by saving face with the owner. Ryan knows he and I spoke very clearly that if the bulb that he assured me was going to fix my TV did not work I would return it. At $243.00 I wasn't going to spend that kind of money for something that DID NOT fix the problem. Ryan has a full shop of equipment to test the bulb which he didn't use but simply looked at the bulb and asked me how old my TV was and said "Its your bulb" "Yep its bad." So I accepted his professional opinion like any consumer would and his assurance. I signed the sales slip indicating he replaced the bulb. I got home and installed the bulb and nothing. Same problem. When I returned as promised they would not simply take the bulb back and give me my money back. Now they want to test the TV and charge more money which is the trap most consumers get caught in. Great company and staff. They provide an excellent product. I have been purchasing various equipment from then for over 17 years and would not go anywhere else. They are always on time and return calls immediately. I would highly recommend their Mitibushi televisions, as I had my last one 15 years and only purchased a new one due to high definition. more

horrible service and communication! 5/17/2010

i wish i didnt have to even give them a star! i give them zero stars! these guys are horrible. i had them work on my tv it was a mitsubishi and they claim to be a sevicer of mitsubishi! i had them come out and look at it. my tv had a problem with the inputs and would get picture on only a few inputs so it was still a working tv some what. when the repair guy came out he said "O yeah i can fix this no problem" it was just a coolant leak on one of the boards he took the board out and said it will take a few days to get it done. well 3 weeks later he got it back to us. i dont know what he did to it but the tv didnt even work at all now so he took a semi working tv and destroyed it. then he took everything out of the tv with him and said it will take about a week or so. now 2 weeks had past and i was not happy about it they dont call and tell you whats going on with it so i called them and they told me that the main video chip was burnt up and they werent looking for the parts anymore for more

Terrible listening room setups 5/2/2009

I came to this store looking to upgrade my 10 year old NHT 1.5's. As the previous reviewer mentioned, this place sells high quality (and expensive) audio and visual gear, but it only sells one brand of speakers that is worthwhile for music: B&W. I have heard previous models from this company before and I'll admit that their sound really wasn't my cup of tea. However, this store just butchered them. My current speakers sounded much better than almost anything I listened to there, including the ~$2500 a pair "nautilus" bookshelf units (I believe the 805S's) that I know are much better than mine, and my speakers are set up in a cramped apartment which is most certainly not optimally set up for audio listening. Even one of their top-of-the-line models (the 802) was set up in a terrible room that made them sound so unbalanced that I thought the right channel was broken. Further, almost all of their chairs are off-center. So, if you want to sit where you should, you have to sit on their end more

Great place for advice, repair, and high end products. 9/4/2005

There are some nice people at this store, ready to help you out, and not force a bunch of junk upon you. They sell very high quality auditory/visual equipment, as well as repair your equipment, and both services are reasonably priced. Definitely the place to shop if you want higher end than Best Buy or Circuit City. more
