TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY I HAVE HAD STRAIGHT HAIR, EVER! Colleen did the brazilian blow out hair straightening for me today, and wow, I love it. Day 1 was today. 3 hours in the chair, not bad. It was funny, a couple of friends did a double take at me today and turned a few heads at HEB.... and I know my hair must have been crazy looking in this humidity all these months.... today my hair looks full and smooth and straight! I had been thinking of doing this for months, so glad I cleared my tennis schedule and did it. Can't wait to see what happens after I wash it. Thanks Colleen! \r \r Early 2010: Colleen and Michelle really spent a lot of time deciding the best color mix to correct my over-blonde highlights and new growth. After a few months, I am spending less on root touch up and my hair is awesome shades of blonde and healthier/ less breakage. Personal attention is awesome here and not pretentious. Colleen is the new owner, very friendly, make an appointment! Pros: Friendly salon, smart colorists, you can trust them more

Love, love, love my hair cut!! I always have something to complain about when I get my hair cut so I rarely go back to the same place but not this time. I saw Iris and she did everything I asked her to do and more...but in a good way! She took into account the texture of my hair and how it naturally fell and gave me an amazing cut. I am definitely going back! Iris rocks!! more

Haircut with laughter. This place is awesome. Not only is it comfortable but the ladies are rockin funny and honest. they dont sugarcoat things. They will always give you what you ask for but also offer their professional opinion. They really help to figure out how to make your hair work for you. Maggie does my hair and she is down to earth, funny, and stylish. my whole family goes there now! more

Mary does a great job with my haircuts and highlights. She took time to talk to me about the style and color I wanted. I never enjoyed having my hair done until I found Mary. Everyone at Elan is friendly and the salon is a beautiful, relaxing place. more

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, if not thrilled, with the service and cut that I received at Elan by Colleen. I purchased a Groupon for deep conditioning and a cut/style which normally means ""cheap"" to businesses... they don't work nearly as hard on pleasing you when they hear the c-word, ""coupon"". Not the case at this salon! First, I sent my mother in as a guinea pig to see if she came out with a good cut. She has frizzy, delicate, hard to control hair. She always picks styles that aren't right for her body/face type and aren't at the level of maintenance she is willing to give. To my surprise, she came out with silky smooth hair (practically impossible to do with her hair) and a flattering cut that Colleen, the stylist, helped her pick out to match my mother’s face and her styling talents. When it was my turn to go in, I had to cancel several times, played phone tag, and then was late on the day of because of traffic! Even with all of the changes and the c-word hanging over my head, Colleen calmly welcomed me and soothed my mind about all of the problems that occurred. She gave me honest feedback about the cut and style that I wanted and went to work. I can honestly say my hair looks great and I can wear it straight, wavy, up, down, anyway that I want because of the quality of cut! She even suggested a hair treatment that uses enzymes to lighten my hair versus having maintain everything with dye jobs and highlights all the time. Colleen was a straight shooter and is amazing with her scissors! This is a great place! It is sandwiched between Santa Fe Optical and a little meat market. Just WONDERFUL! more

I had heard about a stylist, Mary Dunn Morehouse, who works at Elan Hair Salon, through a very good friend mine. I thought about it and decided to book a consult with her. A few days later I made my appointment with her and went in to discuss my specific needs. Mary was very warm and genuinely cared about how I wanted my hair to look. She sincerely listened, she did precise work, and was time efficient. My hair now looks AMAZING! Let me tell you and I am very picky with my hair. I have always had great hair but Mary made my hair Fantastic! I couldn't have been happier with her, the salon, or the wonderful results I received. I promise, if you get your hair done once by this awesome stylist, you won't go anywhere else!!!! more

I have tried many salons in town and my cuts were good not great. I heard about Elan Salon so I called and the owner told me he had just the stylist for me. Wow I am getting so many compliments on my hairstyly. The best part is Shalena used math to create my cut that allows it to fall into place without the need for blowing it dry or curling irons. It's litterally wash and wear. The hair all falls naturally to a swinging beautiful style. Her math is brilliant because my hair cut is amazing. I just had to share the good news with other long hair gals looking for a solution to summer hair. Try Shalena and you'll want to sing about it too! more

Terry knows how to rock out a color and cut. I have been traveling to Houston to get my hair cut, but finally found a salon in Austin that is not only comparable, but in many respects goes beyond the Houston salon. The staff is friends, the atmosphere is great! more

Mary is such a skilled and professional stylist that I've left my old stylist, after 15 years with her! And I'm driving in from San Antonio, too! I've never received more compliments on the cut and color of my hair. more

Midge is my hairstylist at Elan, and I had decided to get highlights and the Brazilian Blow-out for my heavy wavy coarse hair. Worked great!! (had to be done twice but no big deal - just got more time to chat with Midge and the Rob/Colleen). Great Experience. They are committed to perfecting their work and want happy, satisfied clients.
