I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, if not thrilled, with the service and cut that I received at Elan by Colleen. I purchased a Groupon for deep conditioning and a cut/style which normally means "cheap" to businesses... they don't work nearly as hard on pleasing you when they hear the c-word, "coupon". Not the case at this salon!
First, I sent my mother in as a guinea pig to see if she came out with a good cut. She has frizzy, delicate, hard to control hair. She always picks styles that aren't right for her body/face type and aren't at the level of maintenance she is willing to give. To my surprise, she came out with silky smooth hair (practically impossible to do with her hair) and a flattering cut that Colleen, the stylist, helped her pick out to match my mother’s face and her styling talents.
When it was my turn to go in, I had to cancel several times, played phone tag, and then was late on the day of because of traffic! Even with all of the changes and the c-word hanging over my head, Colleen calmly welcomed me and soothed my mind about all of the problems that occurred. She gave me honest feedback about the cut and style that I wanted and went to work. I can honestly say my hair looks great and I can wear it straight, wavy, up, down, anyway that I want because of the quality of cut! She even suggested a hair treatment that uses enzymes to lighten my hair versus having maintain everything with dye jobs and highlights all the time.
Colleen was a straight shooter and is amazing with her scissors! This is a great place! It is sandwiched between Santa Fe Optical and a little meat market. Just WONDERFUL!
