This is the the page for the N. Olmsted store not others! 1/20/2010

This restauraunt was on the verge of failing (from my perspective about 2 years ago) the quality of ingredients was terrible the way the food was presented was BAD, However I gave it another chance about 2 years ago. Well it payed off. The previous chef was fired. Seems I wasnt the only one who thought the food was terrible and uninspired. Now, the ingredients are fresh, they are flavorful. The presentation is awesome. I know of about 5 Mexican restaurants in the area within 20 miles. This one is by far leaps and bounds above the others. The prices are good (while everyone else keeps raising theirs) Absolutely the best quality mexican food out there. For two years running they have been able to keep up the flavor and quality and there has been NO sign of that fading. Well done and keep up the great work El Rodeo. I have only been to the Westlake one that is in a strip mall. Although part of the same chain, i went there only once and it was horrrible. I will drive extra to go to the North Olmsted store. Go for Mariachi night.. it is LOUD and interesting. Pros: The Best Mexican food I have ever had, since they fired the. Cons: The decor is a bit loud. more

Best Mexican restaurant EVER 6/7/2008

Okay, so they may not have the greatest service and the decor my look like a pinata threw up a rainbow all over a kids' play room, but for the price, the quick service, and quality of the food it's AMAZING. I went to this restaurant (the Westlake location) for the first time in Feb and have been back 7 times since, to both the Westlake and North Olmstead restaurants. This is from someone who DOES NOT go out to eat very often. Their margaritas are fantastic, and everything that I've tried on the menu has been to die for in my opinion. I've managed to wear my boyfriend out on getting food from there, but I would be perfectly willing to go at least once a week, every week. Writing this makes me want it even now! I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for some good Mexican food. Nuevo Acapulco used to be my favorite, but the prices and the food at El Rodeo puts it to shame. And since El Rodeo isn't as well-known as Nuevo, it's not nearly as packed! So... who wants to go get me some? :D Pros: Parking, seating availability, great prices, fantastic food Cons: Average service more

Don't listen to them! It's worth a shot! 11/15/2007

As someone that is by no means a food connoisseur, I heartily recommend giving this restaurant a go. Must agree that the service has been spotty at times, but they are *extremely* quick about getting your order to you. I highly recommend the Pollo Jose - REALLY tasty! Their rice is also fabulous. :) Certainly not a rip-off, IMHO, and WELL worth it to drop in on 1/2 price margarita night! Hurrah! Personal tip: When going to this type of casual restaurant, it's UNREALISTIC to expect to be treated like royalty - that attitude will also have an effect on the service you receive. Them's the breaks. Pros: FAST delivery of food; Good parking; Good food for the not-extremely-discriminating diner (read: COLLEGE STUDENTS!!! :) ; NICE margaritas (thumbs up!) Cons: Waiters may adopt a policy of avoidance if you act like a princess. ;) more

Worst Service in town in Mentor 8/6/2007

I will never step back in the El Rodeo in Mentor, Ohio. We were treated like second class citizens. The waiter was very rude. He kept ignoring us. He never came back to ask if we wanted anything else and we had to beg for our check. It took 30 minutes for him to just tell us what we owed and then he did not want to give us a receipt. Avoid this restaurant. more

The food is lousy... the cheese is like velveeta... the atmosphere is lame... go to an authentic mexican restaurant like Mi Pueblo on Lorain Rd. in Cleveland, or Luchitas ... but avoid this place!! 1/26/2007

This restaurant is so bland. There's no comparison with such unmentioned great Mexican restaurants in our city including Mi Pueblo on Lorain Ave in Cleve (true authentic Mexican food, not the cheesy tex-mex stuff that El Rodeo offers.... Luchitas on W.117th? is also great... forget these chi-chi/taco bell "upscale" "mexican" restaurants... you will not be getting your moneys worth. Lame food... lame service... might as well eat at the mall... Pros: none Cons: toomany to mention more

Not worth your time 12/28/2006

I bought $100 worth of gift certificates for El Rodeo from a local radio station. I took two of my adult children for lunch and was told that the certificate was not for the North Olmsted location. I double checked my information and it is stated in the website that this is one of the 5 locations that was involved in this promotion. I bought them specifically for my children who live in North Olmsted. As far as the food and service is concerned, the service is slow and they rarely come back to your table once they've brought your food. It is inexpensive but not the best. I am highly disappointed. more

Our favorite dishy Mexican food spot 6/1/2005

We love El Rodeo! The food is good, cheap, and served with kindness. Sure, it's not the most authentic and no, the margaritas aren't the best ever but it is a terrific, quirky place to visit with friends and family. Service is always excellent and they accomodate all special orders. The decor is kitschy and fabulous - give it a try for a quick weeknight dinner out! Pros: Cheap, Service, Yummy Cons: Not very authentic more

Not that good 5/18/2005

Tomato sauce as salsa aka no flavor, if you like bland you will love this place. more

Another Mexiacn wanna be 6/14/2004

El Redo won't save you from weak Margaritas, store bought salsa. and tasteless food. They sure missed the mark for me. Poor food, watery, wimpy salsa and a Margarita that could have passed fro lime water describes my last 3 meals there. Yes, I went back 3 times to make sure that the crappy meal I got wasn't a fluke. Well it isn't its just plain poor. Cons: , Margaritas more
