El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant

We have been going to El Ranchito for years and just love it! My husband loves the enchilada plate and my favorite are the chicken tacos!! They are deep fried and the chicken is always moist...topped with lettuce,cheese and pico de gallo...Love them!! The atmosphere is always Upbeat and the service is great! I would highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family! Pros: Best Taco's in Town! more

If you're in the mood for chicken soup this is the place to go. The soup has lots of shredded chicken, served with rice and diced avocados, and with the handmade tortillas you can't go wrong. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is like a party. Definitely worth a try. Pros: Very authentic mexican food & excellent service. My co-workers have been bragging about Avila's El Ranchito since at got hired a few months ago. Last week I decided to finally join them and see what all the hype was about. As soon as I walked in I noticed the lady at the front making handmade tortillas, a sight only familiar to me in restaurants that I've visited in Mexico. After debating for a few minutes on what to order, I asked for the Carne Asada plate, I needed to order something that would come with the handmade tortillas. The food was execellent, the rice fluffy, the beans just perfect not too dry not too runny and the meat was lean and cooked to perfection. The tortillas were by far the best I've had in California and asked the waitress for butter and she smiled knowing exactly what I was planning to do with it. She said that was her favorite way of eating these tortillas too so I let the butter melt and enjoyed a few tortillas a la carte before finishing my carne asada. The food and service was excellent. This is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Southern California. Pros: Excellent Food and Great service Cons: No banquet room but they do caterings! more

This was my second experience at this restaurant and it was horrific! The waitress was mean, not personable and extremely rude. She catered to a bigger party that had been seated much later than us. This experience was also during our lunch hour, so we did not have a lot of time. She never greeted us properly. She walked up to us and said, ""Okay, what will you have?"" After we ordered, our food was not that great. My fries and taquitos were burned, my co-worker has a bone in her enchilida! It gets worse: We called over the manager to help and he was not knowledgable about running a restaurant at all. He asked us why he didn't call him earlier and asked us if we were coming back. After we said no, he asked, ""After one bad experience, you aren't coming back?"" NO! Why should we? After that, he asked us what we wanted him to do about the problem. So, he took half off of our bill. But while he was away from our table, the other waiters were glaring and pointing fingers at our table! We were not loud, rude or overly exaggerating, we were just stating facts but being proper about it. So, the waitress comes back and starts talking to my other co-worker in Spanish about how she was busy and not able to be all over the place at once. How rude! We will not be back and do not recommend this place to anyone! more
