Wow, I cannot believe the bad reviews. The problem is people take more time to write about bad experiences while good experiences arent accounted for. This is a hole in the wall kind of place, out of the way, few renovations. HOWEVER, the food is EXcellent. I have NEVER needed to season mine with any spices or hot sauce whatsoever. The guys that run the place are great people. The part time servers are nice women. The prices are more than fair. At least a couple of times a month a group of us go after work and have good, well priced food and drinks. I love this place. I have been coming to El Puerto for 10 years now. If you want a real, authentic, tasty mexican dish and perhaps a corona or a nice wine margarita this is the place to go. Pros: excellent cooking, great prices, easy access Cons: beer and wine only, minor renovation might be nice more

I went to this place because of the other review posted on here raving about it. When I got there I was very disappointed, this simply put is average mexican food that can be found anywhere across the USA. Nothing to write home about, everything taco, burrito, enchilada, all tasted the same, no zest or variety in flavor just bland. I will not return. Pros: They give you a lot of food. Cons: It's a lot of food that doesn't taste good. more

If you love mexican food and you are from out of town and want a really good mexican meal that taste like abuella's cooking you will definately love this restaurant. My mother and I found it about 5 years ago. Its kind of like a whole in the wall restaurant. But excellent service and food. Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious, Great Service more
