Our food came out on time and was prepared just right. I would recommend this place to a hungry person the portions are huge! Service as ok but the food made up for it! I

Great Margaritas 9/16/2005

If you want a truly divine margarita this is the place to go. They have a coconut martini that is to die for. They also have great mexican food. Only recommendation is that you make a reservation if you want to sit down and eat because this place is hopping. more

Good Twice a Year 8/14/2005

El Cholo is on Whilshire and happens to be conveniently located almost 11 blocks from the Promenade. Solid Mexican food with great chips and salsa. Service has been less than positive for sometimes it takes 45 minutes to get your food. Upper floor for dining too. Beautiful views of all the people eating fajitas. more

Good food, great drinks 8/12/2005

Food at El Cholo is good, every item I tried from the menu was very tasty. But why I like El Chole is for their bar. They make excellent margaritas (especially strawberry one). Very tasty drinks full of tequila. The place attract a big crowd, especially on weekends. Good place to meet some people. more

Not the place for Authentic 8/8/2005

Even though this is not the best place to get authentic Mexican food. The environment is fun and festive. The chips and salsa are perfect (very salty) and they always keep them coming. I usually get the cheese enchiladas but the fajitas are good also. This is not a place you must check out if you are in Los Angeles, but if you live here it is a fun place to go out and have lunch or dinner. more
