amazing haircut 9/10/2006

I just received a haircut from an apprentice in staff training and I can honestly say it's the best cut I've ever had. It's perfect. I say this because so many people have stopped to ask me where I get my hair cut. I've noticed more looks on the street as well, to my delight. Edwards must be a great salon because if an apprentice can make me look this good, then the other stylists have to be amazing as well. My haircut with Vicki took a long time, but the end result was fabulous. I appreciated her attention to detail, it made me feel special. Pros: friendly atmosphere more

Fantastic skill AND customer service! 8/26/2006

I called just this morning to see if they could squeeze me in (I'm a new client), and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Edward, the owner, had a cancellation, so was able to see me. The entire staff was courtious and professional from start to finish. The atmosphere really worked for me. Edward was fantastic... very friendly and easy to talk to. He gave me what is perhaps the best hair cut of my life and saw me off with a bag full of product samples. I felt pampered, comfortable and, most of all, beautiful. I found my new salon! Highly recommended! more

Love this place and everyone in it!!! 7/21/2006

I've had a great time each time. My hair looks better then ever, they carry Kerastase and they treat you great! I've had mamossa's on Saturday, fresh baked cookies other times. Some of the stylist are expensive but you know the old saying ""you get what you pay for"" At Edward's you get more. I can't say enough, I've had Emily and Cathy do my hair and they are both great!!! Pros: Great Parking, Super nice people and great customer service Cons: Have to drive to Mill Valley, never thought i would live in the city and get a cut in Marin more

Over-priced Underwhelming service 7/7/2006

I have had consistently bad cuts here, the latest was when i went in to get it cleaned and shaped up, hoping to add a little pizazz without taking a lot fo lenght off--a common request i'm sure. She took what must have been millimeters off, no new shaping, nothing fun or sassy. And for that I was charged $90! I'll never go back. My first bad cut here was on my birthday. My hair was flat and lifeless by dinner time--i had to wash it again at home and blowdry it myslef. What's the point? Too risky here. Very mediocre. I really don't recommend it if you are hoping for something great. Pros: good parking Cons: boring cuts, over priced more

Great Salon, great atmosphere without the egos 6/8/2006

I used to get my hair cut/hightlighted in the top salons in SoCal, until a friend recommended Julie Casady. It is rare to find a stylist who is both an excellent colorist and cutter. Since I have been going to Edwards, my hair has never looked better or been as healthy. Pros: Great salon without the egos more

Recently moved to SF for husband's job...one of my biggest fears was 'my hair'!!!! No aquaintances here so I had to search online. Besides good reviews, Edward's stood out for 2 reasons...interactive website (you can book your appointments online), and, most importantly, Edward's personal interaction! I e-mailed to ask question and he e-mailed back immediately wanting to know all my hair needs and welcoming me SF...after several e-mails about my hair, etc., he set me up with Roxanne. She is awesome! This is the best haircut I think I have ever had...it looks great blown out or dried naturally...she is great with bangs too! After a month, my color stills looks like it was just done... the color product is wonderful...my hair has never looked shinier, thicker, or healthier! Salon atmosphere relaxing and unintimidating...great products. Again, look no further, Roxanne is masterful. Pros: Good Parking, Relaxing Atmosphere, Great Products more

Extremely Poor Customer Service & Overpriced 4/30/2006

This place has way too much attitude for my taste. When I called to make my appointment, I was asked whether I wanted an expensive haircut/highlight or a cheap one (apparently the stylists charge different prices). I have never been asked something like this before and it made me feel bad to state that I would prefer to pay less. When I asked if the salon used Redken products, I was informed in a very snobby tone that they products Edwards' uses are ""like, way better than Redken."" I can do without the condescending attitude, thanks. When I mentioned my experience to friends, I found I was not alone. The salon is also overpriced. Cons: poor people skills more

What a great salon!!! 2/6/2006

Sometimes these rating things haven't worked out for me on citysearch but this one did for rea. Cool salon, everyone is so nice and accomodating. I was served a Mamossa (which I guess is a Sat. thing) and offered everything under the sun. My hair looks awesome and I had a great time. Cant wait till my next visit. BTW I saw Emily whom I loved but they all looked like they did great hair!!! Pros: Close to the city, Great staff!, Great Services more

Best Place I have ever been 1/13/2006

I cant say enough about this awesome place. I have been coming here for over 7 years and wont even consider anywhere else. They always treat me great, give me excellent haircuts and make me feel very welcome. If you want a professional salon that has got great style. Show up to Edwards. more

Two awesome sytlists made my visit the first of many to come. Kristen was an upbeat stylist who provided great coloring and Emily a new stylist who gave me an amazing cut (at $60 how can you beat that?!). There was espresso, champagne, flowers and free wi-fi at this place. I can't wait for my next visit! more

overpriced, bad experience 8/28/2005

I used to come here before and would get a decent haircut for about $60-70. But on my last appointment with Donna(who did ok job, 10 min nothing special) They gave me a check for $105. It turns out that all the stylists charge differently for their service and it could be up tp $135. The problem I had is that no one had informed me about this, and I was led to believe that the price depends of complextity of the haircut. Never going back. Way too overpriced for a very average work. Pros: cookies on Saturdays Cons: price, skill level more

Pretentious 1/7/2005

Tried it out from citysearch, it sucked! The owner seemed pretentious, it was full of snobby Marin mom's who were probably running late for their personal trainer appt. The cut was moderate, the asmosphere was lacking and the staff was partly friendly. I wouldn't recomend it...would rather pay 12 bucks at Supercuts for what I got here! more

Great experience!! 6/9/2003

I had naturally long curly hair that I have held on to for years because I was afraid to do anything else but trims. After reading the reviews online here and seeing that Wendy was their resident specialist I made an appointment. First time, just got a trim. Second time, went for the big cut...and I was ready to do it which was the only way Wendy said she would cut it. And we both had fun doing it...there's no Qtip look, no triangular afro look, perfectly cut and slightly layered.Wendy is GREAT for curly hair.... more

Nicole gave me the best haircut i have ever had. Guys - cheap haircuts in the Mission are a thing of the past for me. Go see Nicole and she'll maybe make you look gorgeous too... If i could rate her '11' - i would. more
