Ed's Auto Service

I have been going to Ed's Auto Service for around 2 years. I have taken my Toyota Camry in for tune ups and he also did some repair on the wheel for me. He's done quite a few things for my car. I just have to say that the people there are so great. I took my car to the dealer and they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for something that was nothing. I took it to Ed's and he checked it out and told me there was no problem where the dealer said there was. Ed is an excellent mechanic. He is very honest and doesn't try to oversell to you. He always explains everything that needs to be done and exactly what he's going to do. He never ever cheats you. When he gives you a quote he sticks to it. They are always flexible about bringing the car in. I had an oil leak and asked if my daughter could bring it in. He said no problem. He checked it out and didn't even charge me. Everyone there is just so nice and friendly. I highly recommend Ed's Auto Service to anyone. more

Ed's Auto Service was good. I'm usually busy at work so it never feels like a good time to do a review, but I have no complains about the business, they have done a fine job and I would use them again and recommend them to anyone else that's looking for service. more

Ed's Auto Svc could repair anything with their eyes closed. 100% of the time anything I sent in was fixed. I was a car dealer so we sent cars to him a lot of the time for repairs, especially the European ones. He was honest about simple repairs and didn't charge us at all for some of them. Everything always turned out great. more

What I really like about the guys over at Ed's Auto Svc is that they are able to get the work done in a timely manner even when mishaps occur. I needed a new transmission and these guys ordered me one, but unfortunately it got damaged while being shipped and these guys were just able to pivot. They got me another transmission and got it put in and running very quickly, so while there was a little bit of a delay while they waited for the second transmission, they minimized the delay by having my car ready for the second one so they could pretty much just pop it in. My car is running great again and I really appreciate that they did everything they could to get my car back to me as soon as they could. more

What I really liked about my experience with the folks over at Ed's Auto Svc is that they fixed my car in a very timely fashion. I was really happy with how quickly they were able to do the work and they did a really good job. The people that work there are very courteous as well and they do a really good job of explaining everything to you. I will definitely come back to these guys if any new problems arise because of how great a job they did the first time around. more

I took my Honda to Eds about a month ago bc it wouldn't shift out of first gear. I told him I was afraid it could be my tranny. After looking over just about the whole car he told me it was just the sensors. Thank goodness! That was the point I knew I finally found an honest caring mechanic. He could just told me it was the tranny and charged me out the wazoo but he didn't. I REALLY appreciated his honesty, great customer service, and his dedication to keeping his customers satisfied. I only have positive things to say about Ed's Auto Service. Ed's a great guy. I had been doing business with him for years because I used to have a dealership right up the street. I used them regularly to fix a lot of our cars, and he never once took advantage of us. He even fixed some things for nothing because he said it was such a small thing, and he could have taken advantage of us because we wouldn't know any better. They're all good people, and I would recommend them to anyone. more

My original mechanic got old, he was semi-retired and so he didn't want or could do everything that a mechanic needs. So I started looking around for a new place and found Ed's Auto Service. I saw his ratings and reviews online, and they were good so I thought I would give them a chance. I have been there a few times. And it's been a good experience. The owner is nice and personable. They go out of their way to make sure your car is done on the same day, and their prices is aligned with the other shops. I have no complaints about the work that they do. But there is only one major problem. Everyone in the place smokes. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen the owner without a cigarette. Now that most of America doesn't smoke, it's a problem. The place is full of cigarette smoke all the time. There's smoke in the workers' clothes, it gets on the car's upholstery, and every time I pick up my car it stinks. It's a problem, and I told them personally about it multiple times, but they haven't done anything. They just don't get it. So I would say that I am very satisfied, except for the cigarette smoke. It's been getting on my nerves, and I may find a new mechanic. RESPONSE FROM Ed's Auto Svc: Chris, in the winter with the shop closed, there are odors that will attach to your vehicle as well as cigarette smoke. I guarantee NO person is smoking inside your vehicle. also, just for honesty level, you NEVER mentioned the cigarette smoke to us, your father did one time only. Not that it makes a difference, we don't want your vehicle leaving with any odors attached but exhaust fumes, oil smoke from heaters, various sprays & chemicals used during the normal course of daily functioning will attach. They DO make fairly inexpensive items to clear odors, fabreeze for example. I would certainly have used, had I been informed by you that there were odors left inside your vehicle. I am a smoker but not a chain smoker & in the short time of your visits here find it hard to believe that I have had a cigarette in my mouth the whole time, every time you have been here. I understand some people are very sensitive to odors and we consistently strive to keep unpleasant smells from staying with your vehicle but the nature of this business does hold some side effects even with exhaust ventilation systems in place. more

I've had the car at Ed's Auto Service twice and it still has a problem. I know it is a difficult electrical problem, and I paid $500 and it still won't start. There is something in the electrical system that is probably running the battery down. I won't take it back to them. Ed claimed he could fix anything and he's had it and can't fix it, so I'm moving on. RESPONSE FROM Ed's Auto Svc: When this vehicle came to us, it took 3 days to drain the battery, so anything we did to find an extremely small battery drain had to wait 3 days to see if we were successful. When we delivered this vehicle back to the owner, the car had been sitting for 6 full days & it fired right up like we had just shut it off. Until this review, I had no idea this vehicle was acting up. I DID inform the customer we would continue looking for the minor battery drain. Addressing the "$500.00" fees paid to us, they actually didn't hit $400.00 & $115.00 was for a new battery. I probably have 30 hours into checking & working on this car that they paid for 3 hours. In my opinion, this is still not a "Failure" on our part as we are still willing to track this drain problem. Bill more

My truck's transmission was broken and Ed's Auto Service got the job done quick and fast. He ordered a new one and they got it in there. It took about two weeks because the transmission they ordered was broken during delivery. Everything is working great now. Their prices were moderate, and I looked around-- it was the lowest at the beginning, but it was pretty high after labor. more

It was my first time using Ed's Auto Service and would go back because of his ability to know what was wrong with my car. He nailed the problem to a T and showed us which hoses were cracked and what had to be changed, so it's not like he pulled it out of the air. He did an overhaul of my car with oil and belt changes, the brakes, tires, fluids and normal maintenance. We told him we were going on a trip, so he made sure the car was fit to travel and that we were safe. He also told us what to look out for, telling us we might need new front tires in a couple months. Nothing urgent, but he said we my need them sooner depending on how much we drive. He's very honest and I've recommended Ed's Auto Service to others. more

A couple of years ago, we were at a dealership and were told that we needed a new water pump, which is very expensive. However, instead of going through with the replacement right then and there, my wife decided to look around first and found that Ed's Auto Service had excellent comments and reviews. We decided to take our car to Ed's and found out that there was actually nothing wrong with our water pump like we were told at the dealership. That really saved us from an expensive mess and since then, we've kept going back to Ed's. I've had a broken light that's been going on and off for a couple years on my truck and wasn't getting good gas mileage and they've managed to straighten them out. Everything's been working fine since. They've done a great job of fixing up our truck, which had a lot of problems and was in really bad shape, and I like that they tell us honestly about any issues with it. Ed's Auto Service has been an excellent business to deal with these past couple of years and we will continue to go back to them for many more! more

Just had car inspected, brakes were about to go due to rupture of rusty brake fluid line. Could have been in serious accident if not for these guys. more

If you take your car any place else your truly missing out. Not only did Ed's save me well over $1,000 on the service of my Jaguar they also allowed me to get my truck fixed with them as well with the extra money I saved going to them. Ed's Auto Svc worked on my car right away and fixed everything. They checked the fluids, belts, hoses, and breaks. They explained to me everything they were doing along the way. Everyone was trustworthy, professional, and knowledgeable. They provided prompt service and it was easy to schedule with them. I have no complaints. more
