I've had the car at Ed's Auto Service twice and it still has a problem. I know it is a difficult electrical problem, and I paid $500 and it still won't start. There is something i...

Fast & Reasonable 5/24/2014

Brought my truck in on a Monday since a previous auto body shop ended up ruining my transmission. Ed's replaced my transmission and a few other things. I drove my truck home that Friday morning. Very friendly. They kept me informed the entire time, explaining in detail what had to be fixed and why. Would definitely recommend. more

Very comfortable affordable, gave me confidence to drive my car again 1/3/2014

Ed's Auto SVC were very thorough and they provided their service at a minimal cost. This is the second time I have called upon them and so far I am quite pleased at what has been offered. more

Excellent 5/31/2013

We have finally found a mechanic that we feel we can trust. He is honest and fair and is very committed to a work ethic that is hard to find. more

Excellent experience and great service! 5/25/2013

Ed's Auto came highly recommended by several of my co-workers. Bill, the owner, diagnosed a stalling problem on my '05 Sentra that no one else could seem to pin point. He explained everything so that I could understand (keep in mind, my knowledge of cars caps off at checking my oil). Knowing that I was on a budget with a baby to keep safe, Bill was honest about what was needed immediately vs. what could wait a bit. I'm extremely happy with Ed's & have already recommended them to another mom. I will definitely be going back for all my auto repair needs! more

They are just great. 2/19/2013

Holiday Blues 12/21/2011

My Lincoln decided to quit on me for the Holidays and the dealer told me $3600.00 to fix it according to their codes. (which were wrong) What can be worse than that steep bill with my 4 children expecting Christmas? Not only was Bill at Eds in Vineland very honest...... but he explained everything so well which showed his knowledge and expertise!Very professional. My bill was so much cheaper than I expected and I recieved my truck back very promptly. Not to mention the great follow up call to see how my truck was running after a week. Thanks again Eds for great service I can trust! more

Excellent work, but sometimes it takes an excessive amount of time. 7/7/2011

Ed's Auto does excellent work. It's just that sometimes timeframe wise we need our vehicles back very quickly, and sometimes that's can't be done. Sometimes it's an excessive amount of time just being there. Paul with Dish Network RESPONSE FROM Ed's Auto Service: I will agree that sometimes his vehicles take more time to accomplish repairs. However, in our defense, these vehicles are overseen by a Fleet management service so all repairs MUST be authorized by them and this action takes much more time as the parts or repairs CANNOT be be ordered or completed until this authorization process completes. We ALWAYS try to get our fleet vehicles out the door as quickly as possible. more

I have no complaints! 6/3/2011

Ed's Auto Service is one of the few shops that work on my type of car. I drive a Mercedes, and it requires someone who specializes in that kind of car. I've been taking my car to Ed's for about three years. They've done all kinds of things to it, too many things to list! They always do a good job, I'm happy with the results. Denise Thompson more

Ed You Might Be Good But $75 for an Estimate, NOT! 5/31/2011

I called about having an estimate done on my truck for a oil leak. I was told that there would be a $75 charge just to look at the vehicle. When I asked if this $75 would be applied toward the cost of the work if I had the work done at Ed's. I was told NO. Well Ed might be the best place in town, but I went somewhere else just as reputableand was given this Shop Owner's name before Ed's. I called and was explained how the fee for the estimate worked. If I got the work done at this shop, the $25 was credited to the final bill. If I chose to go to another shop, wel then the $25 was reasonable for the time spent. Ed, your $75 fee is UNREASONABLE. Maybe it's time you changed your policy and give the customer a break! Bad news / reviews travels faster than good. more

Ed's Auto Service is friendly, professional and won't rip you off! 5/16/2011

Ed's Auto Service is great! I think they do beautiful work there. Sometimes, it takes a little bit of time, but the results are wonderful. For years, I took my jeep to the dealer and it was so expensive and kept breaking down on me. I asked around for a good, honest mechanic one day and somebody recommended Ed's Auto to me. I've been taking my jeep there ever since. He was able to correct everything the dealer messed up. His shop is small, but everyone there is very friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. They'll tell you everything they're going to do. The'll give you a printout of the analysis and prioritize what needs to be fixed and what can wait. Ed really works with his customers and their financial situations. He's great, believe me! I highly recommend him! Debra Hans more

Ed's Auto Service is a very trustworthy shop. 3/15/2011

Ed's Auto Service is very helpful and cooperative with their customers. They are also extremely honest, which is a very important piece of running a car service. Actually, several people recommended Ed's to me on the fact that they are honest, and now I've been a customer of theirs for five years. I think they offer good sensibility and service and always manage to keep their customers informed before they do any additional work. Joe O'Hara more

They're knowledgeable, friendly, and straightforward. I'm pleased so far. 3/9/2011

Ed's Auto Service seemed very knowledgeable, friendly, and straightforward. They told me what was going on, even when they were shipped the wrong thing. I thought that was nice. They did a pretty nice job. I'm pleased so far. more

Gave great personal service explained the problem and my options 12/22/2010

My 2002 GMC Envoy transmission went out last Friday. Called Bill, he ran through some tests over the phone so I could limp it to safety and had it hauled to Ed's Auto for repair. Bill gave me options, either a transmission rebuild by him or a replacment unit from Jasper. I drive all over the East coast and a Jasper warranty would travel with me so we went the more expensive route. By Wed I was back in my truck. You are treated like a person in his shop and you know your vehicle is being serviced by a Master mechanic not a monkey. Have recommended him to my family for future work. more

Transmission not shifting and slipping 11/18/2010

I took my 2003 Dodge Neon to this shop because Bill assured me that the other 2 places that I took it to were lying about what was wrong with my car. I was totally taken advantage of by this man. He called me right away and told me there wasn't a thing wrong with the transmission and how sad it was that people would lie, he said it was leaking and he would fix the leaks. I paid him and took my vehicle and after about a half hour of driving my car was doing the same exact thing that it was doing before I took it to him. I went back there the next day to tell him he didn't fix it and he told me the transmission is broke! This man is the biggest deceptive liar I've ever seen in my life! Also my transmission was never leaking as I park in the same spot all the time. As a woman with no significant other I have to be very careful from now on. My car is being repaired by a real mechanic now! RESPONSE FROM Ed's Auto Service: First, I am sorry this situation came about in this manner. We tried to help by NOT selling a transmission that you didnt need. We are proud of the fact that we dont take advantage of any situation or individual. There was obviously some miscommunication at the time of the repair, and it is OUR fault for not catching that. This vehicle came from another shop that was trying to sell you a trans based on incorrect information. We did the basic checks, fluid level, it was 2 quarts low. We filled it, cleared the codes and the trans worked perfectly. It had minor leaks from the pan and solenoid pack, which we quoted a price to repair. After you told us to fix the leaks, we completed the repairs, and road tested the vehicle again, and it worked flawlessly. This transmission is completely computer controlled and I am very willing to diagnose it at no charge to make sure that the sensors and solenoids are doing their job properly and if either are malfunctioning, I would be willing to install them at no charge. We are proud of our reputation of treating people fairly and reasonable pricing. more

Ed's Auto: The right place to go. 9/8/2010

We each have a vehicle, and we both go to Ed's Auto Service. Ed keeps us posted on what is going on, what needs to be done, what might have been overlooked, and what we don't need to do. He lets us know what we can do at the best price. We have had all around good experiences there because they are willing to work with us. I have gone two times, and Diane had her transmission done there. We have been using Ed's Auto for the past year. While I have had some questions, overall the work is definitely a 5. Go there; Ed is very fair and will go over the issues with you. Ed doesn't just jump to conclusions about what is wrong, and he won't just try a new solution every week until it's fixed. He will really figure out what is wrong and what the real issue is. Some mechanics will just try one thing and then another, but that is not what Ed does. He goes over the problem thoroughly before making suggestions. I also really like all the workers at Ed's Auto. They make me feel really welcome. Frank loves my car, and if you love my car you get my vote. I really like everyone at Ed's Auto. more

They are trustworthy and responsive to the customer's needs. 8/3/2010

They are very responsive and courteous at Ed's Auto Service. They do whatever is needed to accommodate the customer. I have been using them for 3 years. They seem very honest. When they are going to do work they always let me know first. They are trustworthy and responsive to the customer's needs. more

I'm sorry there aren't more STARS! 7/14/2010

Great place! Great People! My story started with a nissan that stalled out when I came to a stop. I took it to melini's for repair and they put parts in that they said I needed to fix the problem although I couldn't get a clear reason why or what, just $1700.00. My car stalled out at the first stop after paying for those repairs. When I took it back, they told me it was a trans problem and I should take it to cottman. The guy at cottman took it for a quick road test and told me I need a new trans for $3500.00 even though the car never stalled on him. I went back to work in tears, a co-worker told me I should take it to Bill at Ed's Auto Service for a second opinion. She told me she and her family take all their cars there for repairs and they were extremely happy with Ed's work. Bill found the problem to be a broken ground wire, fixed it for under $200.00 AND my car hasn't stalled out since. He takes the time to explain what I need and why in a way that I understand. He never talks down to me because I am a woman and his prices are always reasonable. Needless to say I highly rate Ed's Auto Service every chance I get! Heather more
