The Edgemar Center for the Arts has been known for it’s acting studio and it’s more than famous Creative Director Michelle Danner, who is not just coaching some of the biggest names in Hollywood but also a director, who is about to launch her new movie “Hello Herman”.\r
\r
For those directors and producers out there who thought, Edgemar was for actors only, should have a closer look at the “Golden Box”, a two day class, offered by Michelle Danner herself. The class gives insight in breaking down scenes and scripts, a close look at the language actors speak and most importantly understand. It is commonly known, that a good director attends at least one acting class and the “Golden Box” represents exactly that: a starter course to understand actor’s minds on set and on stage. You will meet talents from different backgrounds, and experiences but you will leave with one bigger understanding for their craft.\r
\r
You will get an insight into characters, scene breakdowns, and sucking out the dialogues subtext, which translates directly to great cinema and theater. All this wisdom is brought to you, by Michelle Danner in a very charming and understanding manner in order to get the most out of the time. It is a very protected and open space, which for me was important, since this was my first acting class, and it takes a little something to let go of my inner insecurity and just let yourself fall, trusting the director to lead you through the process.\r
\r
All in all, the “Golden Box” is a great insight into the craft of acting; it gave me the basic understanding of how to work with talents and how to create entertainment that is meant to last.\r
