cut forehead 9/20/2010

I went to get my dog microchipped and vacinated. My dog was taken into the back, behind closed doors. He came back out, with a cut over his eye. There was some cream on the cut. I asked the staff about it....and they took the dog back to the vet in the backroom and came out shortly after and told me that he must have scratched himself when they put a muzzle on him. They weren't even up front with me about, I should never have had to ask why my dog had a gash on his head.\r \r The only time that I ever saw the vet was when she came out to try to sell me other products. Are there any good vetz in east lansing? more

Totally sucks!! 8/7/2008

I have three dogs and four cats. The vet is okay but the facility is filthy. The waiting room is so tiny it only holds 2 or 3 chairs. The exam room is wide open to the waiting room. We always had a long wait. The vet loves to run tests that are not needed. She preformed two surgeries on our dogs ears to the tune of hundreds of dollars and when they didn't work she wanted to perform another surgery for $450.00. Our new vet simply treated the problem with medicine and now our dog is fine. Frankly I felt the vet was rude and not very nice or kind. I would never recommend this office to anyone! more

Phenomenal service 7/13/2008

I have a middle aged dog who has been a patient of Eastside Animal Hospital for several years. She ruptured her cruciate ligament in November, and Dr. Seager was able to get her in right away for surgery. The care they showed my pet was unbelievable. My dog is friendly, but she is overly adoring of the staff at Eastside. It is clear when she sees them that she has had nothing but the best of care there. I've never seen her that way at any other vet, it's really heartwarming to know that not only do I trust them, but she does, too. \r More recently, she broke a canine tooth and had to have it removed. I've never felt so comfortable leaving my dog in anybody else's care, but I know that Eastside Animal Hospital took good care of her.\r I wouldn't dream of taking her elsewhere - it's apparent by her reaction that she loves Dr. Seager and the staff. I've never seen her be so outgoing with anybody that isn't family. At this point, they really are family to my dog. more

Head to Toe Caring Vet 12/12/2007

I have been using Eastside Animal Hospital as my vet for over 5 years now. Although the building is small, their attention to the needs of my pets is great! The staff is wonderful and caring, I have never seen my pets be so happy to be at the vet's! I have 4 dogs and 2 cats and they all receive top quality care there. The vet even diagnosed my Golden Retriever with a ligament tear that had been misdiagnosed by 2 other vets previously! She fixed the problem in BOTH her knees and she has a new lease on life thanks to the caring staff there! The vet also caught some very serious dental problems with one of my dogs that was unnoticed by our previous vet. The entire staff is helpful and understanding. I am comfortable leaving my pets there for any treatment knowing they are getting the best care possible. These people really do love animals. They treat my pets like they are their own and offer great suggestions for any problem I present, whether it is behavioral or medical and they are also more

terrible 8/3/2007

The service is bad, it smells horrible, looks disgusting and my dogs hated it. I have three dogs and one of them LOVES everybody. He is a very social dog and never has problems going to the vet or even getting shots! I had trouble getting him in to Eastside Animal Hospital and had trouble getting him to go near the vet. For the first time EVER in 5 years he was avoiding the vet and didn't want to go up on the table. My other dogs have stayed at Eastside Animal hospital for two weeks while we were on vacation and were TRAUMATIZED! They were dirty, had poop all over them and my white dog had permanently turned brown around his mouth and on his back from stress. I took them to another hospital and the vet said they were under a lot of stress wherever they had been and the white one turned brown in certain areas from stress. Since my horrible experience at Eastside Animal Hospital I have switched to another vet and am very happy now. My dogs actually enjoy going there and the staff there r more

Okay, but not very clean 4/7/2006

They were able to get me in the same day I called, which was good. However, I was not impressed. The office was in serious need of maintenance (large chunks of paint peeling from the ceiling), and just didn't look clean. I had to wait about 15 minutes in an open room with lots of dogs barking and people walking in and out, which really upset my cat. I wanted to walk out at that point because I didn't feel comfortable, but it was late Friday afternoon and I really needed to get the cat seen. The vet was competent and investigated the problem thoroughly, but did not discuss prices of extra tests that she was running and didn't ask if I wanted those extra tests done, just went ahead and did them. She also charged me for a "comprehensive exam," but only examined my cat's head, didn't check his abdomen, heart, lungs, etc. I left feeling nickle and dimed, and in need of a good hand washing. I won't be going back. PROS: The vet seems competent, and they were able to schedule a same-d more

If you care about your pet 9/6/2005

If you have a pet you love and needs medical care, Eastside animal hospital is the place to go. The doctor there treats your pet like its her own. Prices are fairly low, and there are not too busy. They also have perscription animal food which I am currently feeding my cat to keep him healthy. PROS: Nice staff CONS: None more

Animal Friendly 8/20/2005

These guys really know how to treat your pet. They love your animals so much sometimes it feels like they lived with animals in the wild as a child. They really make you feel good when they treat your animal. A very friendly welcoming place. PROS: Friendly. Knowledgable CONS: None. more

Great Vet! 6/10/2005

The people here are very great with animals. There are lots of animals being boarded in the back, so the noise level can get up there. I was able to set up a payment plan for a pet emergency, and they were very understandingof my budget. They do accept checks! more
