I was seeing Dr. Albernaz about some sinus issues I was having and could not have been less impressed with him and his staff. After waiting close to 1 1/2 each visit before the doctor even came into thr room, it was obvious that the doctor didnt care enough about his patients to speak to them for more than 60 seconds, at the most. Then he uses medical terms nobody would understand and doesn't explain anything he's doing. After getting a bill for a procedure I didn't even know I was having when I went in for a regular follow up appointment, I refused to see him again. Neither the doctor nor his staff explained anything about the procedure to me (the pain/bleeding that I would experience for days afterwards) or that I would be paying out of pocket because it was not covered by my health plan. He also referred me to another doctor for a certain procedure (that seemed to have mo conmection to my problem) which the doctor would not even consider performing because he said it was unnecessary. The wait for this visit before seeing the doctor was one hour and fifteen minutes. This was a followup for corrective surgery. I unfortunately witnessed a nurse approach the patient instrument in hand without explaining what was about to happen. The patient reared back. When a one word admonishment was given the nursed seemed stunned that anyone would dare comment on her lack of professionalism. Later two medical students were brought in to observe without requesting permission from the patient. This is not a free clinic. Patients pay for services, and should expect to be treated with respect at all times. more

My child suffered with recurrent ear infections, then I finally took her to the doctors at Eastern Carolina ENT. They said she had been a candidate for tubes for some time, so we decided to have the tubes put in. She was 11 months old when she had it done, and she was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Later, my son had a throat infection that abcessed, and they took care of him too! I cannot speak more highly of anyone! more
