Do not hire this Company! They way over charged me . $400.00 OVER THE ORIGINAL QUOTE . This was an easy move that they made into a nightmare. If your looking for affordable and professional movers.......Look elsewhere ! Since the delivery was finished after 5:00 pm I could not speak to anyone in their office or a Manager to Complain that their Crew overcharging me. When i demanaded to speak to a manager ....they called and the Manager on call would not speak to me on the Phone. I'm so disgusted . Anthony the sales guy seemed Nice but damn they screw you bad . My walls were damaged ...my Floors damaged...they didn't have tools to take apart a child's bed....I found a guy sleeping on the Floor ...I had to wake him up.........and i paid a fortune for it. Thanks for robbing me East Coast . Thanks for Robbing middle class hard working people out of their hard earned Money . Do not use ...look Elsewhere . more

Talk about bait and switch!! All the stories you start seeing on the internet about this company are true!! They don't use Semi's to move you. They show up in a rented Penske truck. Tell you they go by weight and then turn around and say they go by cu.ft. Tried to DOUBLE the rate!! I said No Way....turned around and rented my own Penske truck....hired one of their guys away from them to drive for me & turned them into D.O.T. (Department of Transportation). This company is pathetic and totally dishonest!! They prey on women and elderly because when they get there and double the price, most people don't have any other options or choices. I did!! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! IT'S ALL A SCAM!! Everyone should report this sad little company to the Department of Transportation and put them out of business!! more

Very pleased with service...We relocated from NJ to FL and this was our first move. I contacted many movers and received quotes lower than East West. In the end I went with them for many reasons. First of all Anthony, my account manager was wonderful! I felt comfortable with him from day one. He never bashed a competitor and advised me all the way. He never mislead me and advised me up front of all extra and additional charges that may occur. I was quoted a price and in the end only paid an additional 75.00 due to additional steps. \r They arrived on time to pick up items. Will and his moving crew were excellent and quick. They were knowledgeable and careful with my items by wrapping blankets around furniture.\r The guys who delivered were fun and helpful when they got here even though the complex was hard to get around in with the size truck they had. Have no complaints at all about anyone. \r Maddy, the supervisor called and updated me on the shipment and when the truck was leaving. \r I understood my items were going into storage and when I told them that we were going to be in our new place Anthony started the ball rolling.\r I did my own packing and can tell you I had 2 items broken, a glass and a dish. They was gentle with items and I helped by marking boxes fragile and which side was up.\r I would use them again anytime going any place. Good Job everyone, especially Anthony. My husband and I used East West this past weekend to move from a one bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house. We were extremely happy with the service we received. First, Tim in the office provided a very accurate estimate and was up front about everything. Then Manny and his guys arrived promptly and were very easy to work with. They used the time efficiently and took great care in handling our personal belongings! I will definitely recommend and use East West movers again in the future! I will also request Manny in the future! more

Please do not use these scam artists! Where to start... Yes they are really good at talking you into stuff, especially Anthony. But once they ripped you off you will not hear from them anymore! First of all they falsely wrote behind each and every item and box either damaged, scratched, bent, etc. Even stuff that wasnt scratched or anything when we got it back. Just to secure their behinds they write it behind all your perfectly fine stuff when they pick it up. ALL of furniture was delivered scratched and beat up, with handles missing, wood came off, boxes were shattered,etc. They even broke our glass coffee table and then tried to blame it on us! No wonder when we saw how they threw everything in a tight space on a truck on top of each other even heavy stuff on top and they reload your things several times! Its funny how they try to blame it on you when you know your stuff was fine when being packed in front of you! Some small things and shoes were missing and we know we packed them for sure! Go figure... They also didnt build anything back up when they delivered as we were told before. And those guys who brought our stuff were disgusting they used our bathroom and left paper that had stains from wiping themselves laying on the floor! Then of course since everything got damaged I filed a complaint and now a year later I still havent heard from them! I am warning you, please find another company if you care about your stuff! more

I've used East West twice now, and I have not regretted it one bit. They are fast, professional and very gentle with products. They were prompt and courteous. They were able to move us efficiently. They followed up with us before the move to make sure everything was in order, and they were following up afterwards to make sure everything went well. Highly recommend them! more

My family relocated with EWM earlier this month and I could not have made a better decision in choosing a professional moving company. When I was approached with the offer of a promotion at my current job, I was apprehensive to hear that it would require me to relocate to Arizona. (I previously resided in NY) Not only did I have to quickly made the decision to accept the promotion, but I would have to decide on a Moving Company to perform the move as I am a full time employee and mother of two with absolutely no time to pack, organize etc. My husband and I did our research before deciding to choose EWM. We had about 4 in house estimates done in about a week and decided to chose the company that we were most comfortable with: The company that provided us with the most accurate information according to our items, the best customer service and a flat rate that stayed completely the same on the day they packed us up! I agree with a lot of the other customers on this site that the men that came to pack our items were very respectful to my family as well as our belongings. Being that my husband and I had little to no time to pack our entire house, we chose the full packing service at the time of the estimate and also decided to purchase additional insurance for the fragile items we have acquired over the years. I would be misleading you if I said that I was not extremely nervous about having a company pack and then move my belongings all the way from NY to AZ. (My husband was more worried about his plasma than anything else. Ha Ha) However when I saw how carefully everything had been packed, I felt assured that this company knew exactly what they were doing. When we had arrived to Arizona I was more than anxious to receive our possessions, but the EWM staff was efficient at providing us with information about our delivery. The driver even called my husband to let him know that he may arrive earlier than expected and wanted to know if we would be available. If I though at that point it couldn't get any better, I was wrong. Not only did the driver and his helper bring our items in as carefully as they were taken out, but they assembled everything that the men that picked up our items disassembled as I was promised. Overall we were completely satisfied with our move. It was the first time my family and I had ever used a company to relocate and they really helped to make our transition a smooth one. My husband and I have recommended them to our companies to use for future relocations and would absolutely use East West Movers again. more

I move last week from bronx ny to florida with east west movers. the company was excellente with the packing of my furniture. At first i was nervous because i did not want the price to go to high. but after going over the list that i gave them, i was ok with the price they gave me. i was suprize when the men came because they were nice and respecful and help me a lot. they packed my things very good and when i got my things at my new house, i was suprize because everything was very good. nothin broken or loss. I will refer them to my friends and family if they need to move. thanks. more

I just moved from North Bergen, NJ to PA with East West Movers. The 2 man crew that showed up were on-time, very quick and efficient and not mention extremely honorable and the sales rep was very honest. more

We decided to use East West Movers because they had good rates and claimed they could do the job without any problems. When they began packing our belongings they started breaking things in our home. In addition they scratched the walls and floors as they dragged furniture out onto the truck. Finally when the items arrived we found shattered items, and broken boxes as if they tossed the boxes around. We will never use them again and hope anyone reading review take caution in choosing a reputable mover. Don't go by the low rates because they are not ever real especially with East West Movers who had more then doubled their original quote. more

I spent a good time researching movers and East West Movers, Inc was not only affordable, but my sales person (Anthony) was very much accommodating. I was a little nervous at first because this is my first time moving personal items, which in my case I moved from New York City to California. Needless to say I was reassured that all my belongings will be secured and will be in good hands. I called multiple times with questions before and during the move and at all times was given a response at a timely manner. It was like service with a personal touch. Compared to all the other sales reps I spoke with (and I spoke to more than a handfull) what stood out the most was Anthony did not say anything bad about other competitors, but rather he suggested I do what's best for me and work with who I felt comfortable with. To top it off he was listening. I had specifically mentioned to each rep that I was not in NY (at the time of call) and to follow up after a specific date, some reps called to follow up 2x or 3 times before the specified date...that itself was annoying. I narrowed it down to 3 companies and at the end I choose East West due to overall cost and assurance of my sales rep. My stuff arrived in California well in tack. Overall I had a pleasant experience and would highly recommend them. more

Please note this is not a complaint or a claim against East West Movers it is solely the story of my moving experience. . I have moved eight times over the past 20 years, and never been mistreated and cheated as I was with East West Movers. First: The initial quote was a lowballed tactic designed to draw you in. I asked upfront what are the real charges and once all the additions were added it came to double of what was quoted. Second: The movers arrived in a beat up truck and began breaking things as they packed the truck, and one even tried to hide one of the broken items in my building's trash room, which I found just laying there blanketed. Third: the Forman got three parking tickets (at $115.00 each) while packing the truck because he left it unattended and kept removing each ticket as they were placed on the front of the truck's window. The traffic agent said during the ticketing of the last that if he had left the ticket on the window he only would have gotten one ticket instead of three. I referred this information to the person allegedly in charge (Ms M.) at East mover and she said I was responsible for all three tickets even those her foreman caused the re-ticketing. Fourth: The person allegedly in charge (Ms M.) called me and threatened to have her moving men pull all of my items off the truck and leave them there, which would have thrown my moving schedule off result in my tenant not being able to move in. After pleading with Ms M. she claimed that she forced me to sign an additional wavier of liability releasing East Coast Movers of any blame of the additional problems that they caused and even further guarantee my payment. I signed it only because I was put into a spot in which I have to clear the apartment for the incoming tenant and hadn't enough time to reschedule another moving company. Fifth: About 10 days later my a truck arrives at the destination with some items being water damaged and others broken. East Coast Movers only gives 50 cents for each pound of the broken items so it's not even worth the time to claim anything. Sixth: The moving company hires unskilled temp workers as movers, without proper screening. One of the movers was so old that he couldn't lift boxes without dragging and dropping things, while scratching the floors as went along; I felt sorry for him and helped him and the others with much off the lifting and moving of the items from off of the truck into to my new home. NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY NOT EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY. NO ONE SHOULD PAID TO BE DISRESPECTED AND TREATED IN THE MANNER IN WHICH I WAS BY EAST COAST MOVERS of Hackensack NJ. more

Anna took such good care of me during the entire process of my move. Not only did she call on the day of my move to make sure that the moving crew had arrived and that I was completely satisfied with how everything was going, but throughout the entire process, she helped me with any questions or concerns I had. (I had quite a few questions!!!) more

This is my second time using East West Movers Inc and I didn?t think they would be able to top the great job they did the first time, but they most definitely did! Our move was handled very well from the estimate to our delivery. Customer service was excellent and the rep I spoke with, Mike, was friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. I don?t usually leave reviews, however because this is my second time using this company, I decided to leave some feedback as our second move was just as good as the first, if not better! I have nothing but positive things to say about East West Movers Inc in Hackensack NJ. I spoke with a representative named Anthony who was extremely helpful and to the point with my move. I especially appreciate the hard work done with the care of my personal items. I have to say I was a little aprehensive at first because of all the horror stories I've heard about moving companies, however East West Movers Inc completely changed my outlook and eased my nerves. As far as the overall price and end result of my move, my initial expectations were truly exceeded. I would highly recommend East West Movers Inc to anyone looking for an efficient moving experience. I will be sure to hire them again in the event that I would need to relocate. more
