My wife's contract ended and they continued to draft from our account for 5 months. When asked about a refund they told me they don't refund based on usage. What usage the contract was over and she told them she wouldn't be back. Don't give them access to your bank account because you may find it empty. more

I think that the people there are nice, so I have no problems there. I have a problem with the disgusting pool - there is thick scum surrounding it on the inside, mildew on the cracked floor, murky water, and when water gets in your mouth it tastes like the ocean. Instead of looking or feeling refreshing, you WANT to take a shower afterward and brush your teeth because it is so nasty. Having a pool at the J.D. location was the only reason I signed up.....I will not be renewing my membership unless they do more to actually CLEAN the pool instead of just dumping chlorine in it every week!!!!!!!!! more

Having so few options in Mt. Pleasant, I reluctanly signed up for ESAC. I ran..not walked away after my required year..I have lived all over the US and only since the 90's has a gym I've been a member of (LA to Atlanta) had a year long contract with only death or move as the way out! That should have been my first red flag....but alas...I was desperate.\r The staff never..never greets you. There is no desire to learn their members' names. I never found a bathroom stall that actually locked (all the inside locks are broken!). The lockerroom is hairy scarey...the weightroom dirty....hum..oh yea..you have to pay extra for spin class (say What?!?!?)\r After the long...long ...LONG year of being a member..yippee the term is up..but ONLY after you get a certified return recpt. letter to them...written in blood. It is utterly ridiculous to think I have to go the post office to officially end my year! \r I say any other option is better.. if only there was one nice gym in Mt. P..it would close ESAC down in a blink (once all the members made it to the post office to get their certified letters to them) more

this is a horrendous gym. do not sign a contract with east shore athletic club especially if you live in mount pleasant. the management overall is terrible, unhelpful and could not care less about customer service. the johnnie dodds location in mount pleasant is the worst! of them!! the locker rooms are disgusting, the group fitness instructors are mediocre at best and the staff is discourteous and unhelpful. Do not make the mistake of signing a contract with them!!! Cons: terrible staff and locker rooms more

I'm a very long term member of this club and have seen many transitions over the years. I think the staff is great and helpful and friendly. The club overall just stinks. It is down on it's heels and really really shabby. I think having carpet throughout the club is a big problem. The place reeks particularly downstairs. The locker rooms are just unbelievable in how nasty they are. For as much as we are paying per month there should be a better return on our money. With the recent influx of new members absolutely no thought was put into where they would all park. Parking can be at a premium anyway and now it is nearly impossible. I wish that the owner had put some thought in to the upkeep and maintenance of this club before he went about sucking up all of the other clubs into his web. The appearance and maintenance of the Johnny Dodds club is shameful. It used to be a ""flag ship"" facility and now it is more the ""red headed step child"" of his collection of clubs. It would be nice if the owner, Kent, could be bothered to make an appearance every now and then. It would be even better if he would spend some of his money to do something about the club. It is very disappointing. Pros: convenient, nice staff Cons: Stinks, dirty, nasty locker rooms. more
