From the moment I hit the door the professional manner in which the staff greeted me, the calming and quiet setting, hot tea while I relaxed and waited for my massage. I've lived in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco - getting massages all over and Earthling rates as one if not the top! more

Five of us visited Earthling Day Spa during a girl's trip in Charleston. From the minute we arrived, the service was outstanding. I recommend the signature facial and the pomagranate scrub. The staff even got us into a popular restaurant for lunch by calling ahead. Thanks for a great experience! more

I'm a regular spa-goer, so I know the drill--get there 15 minutes ahead of time.... I did. However, before I came, I was told there would be parking behind the spa. Well, good luck finding it. I couldn't. I decided not to park in the lawyers spaces in the building next door which were the only spaces that I could see other than street parking. Luckily, I found an empty meter nearby. Still, I was 10 minutes early. I was told to wait and my therapist would be with me shortly. The waiting area has two straight-backed booth seats. At most, they could accommodate 3 people each. But when I'm at a spa, I don't usually want to sit so close to people I don't know. Especially, in an uncomfortable chair. So, I waited. And waited. And waited. At 15 minutes after my appointment time, when everyone else had already been in their rooms for some time, I went to the front desk. They said my appointment was 15 minutes after my appointment time. (Which isn't what time they confirmed when they called two days earlier.) So, I went back to the uncomfortable booth seat to wait. I waited another 5 minutes, and was given neither explanation, nor apology for the delay. That said, the wax was just okay. I've had better, and only once had one worse. I would never go back to this spa. There are so many other options in Charleston, use one of them instead. more

I am sooo impressed with the service at this place. I went there with my husband, who surprised me...yes, he's a keeper, and started with a massage, from Dana, that blew my socks off! She is incredible! I felt all my back pain melt away. She really paid attention to what I wanted and was very specific. I walked out of that room feeling refreshed and my muscles untied...and without the soreness! For my facial I saw Mickey. Wow, I've never had a facial quite like this. From the scented steam and hot towels to the neck and facial massage...I was blown away. Her knowledge of the skin is detailed and suggested things I could do to help with my acne (without buying $100 of products!!). The great service didn't end there!! Everyone suggested where to eat for lunch and dinner, where to hear the best music, where to get the best gelato and so much more. I didn't get this service from the concierge at our hotel. I, seriously, felt like a celebrity here. Thank you so much to everyone at Earthling. I read the other reviews and I'm not sure when those people went there, but I was there last week and the staff is top notch. Highly recommended!!!! Can't wait to come back. more

I have been to many spas, and earthling ranks with the best in service. My massage was very healing, and my tender areas were addresses very effectively. I also had a facial that was close to a religious experience! I would definitely recommend experiencing services here, and I will be back on my next visit to Charleston! I love to travel and get pampered. I've been to some great spas and this will go down as the one I will always go to in Charleston, South Carolina. The large hotel spas in Charleston look nice, but there therapists are average at best. Earthling day spa is high class all around. I have been to this spa on three different occasions. The first time I had a facial. It was so wonderful and relaxing. The second was for a wax. The woman was very professional. The third was the disappointment. I went with my best friend to get facial/massage combos. The massage was ok other than the lady pointing out a birthmark like it was disgusting. And went I got the facial the lady skipped half of the treatment. I was done like 15 minutes before my friend and she performed half of the services. I should have called to get some kind of refund but didn't. I will be going back for another waxing with the same woman soon. Just know what you are getting before you go and demand that you get it! more

I can't imagine why anyone would feel that this location is poor! It's absolutely IDEAL!! Earthling Day Spa is a block from Market Street and walking distance from dozens of great hotels, restuarants, and historic sights. Not to mention the parking is FREE!!! \r I have chronic shoulder problems and get massages as often as I can. When my husband and I first came to Earthling, we greeted warmly by the helpful staff. The fact that the massage therapists were so knowledgeable and helpful really made my husband feel comfortable... it was his first time at a spa! I've now made massage a priority to help with my overall health and the improvement in my shoulder is amazing. I bought my wife a 1-hr massage gift certificate for our anniversary and she made an appointment shortly after. On her way to the appointment, she got in a car accident. I called Earthling Day Spa and told them what happened and they said it was no problem and that I could reschedule her appointment. A couple months later, she made another appointment. When I came back to pick her up, they told me there was a problem with the gift certificate and that it had already been used. I explained the situation and how we have never been here before. I was also curious to why they waited to tell me this AFTER her massage. (We had given them the certificate number when making the appointment the day before) They wanted me to pay another $75. I didnt have the money on me, but I didnt want to ruin my wife's gift, so I told them to send me a bill. Instead, they asked for ""whatever money I had in my wallet as a down payment"" and I could pay the rest later! I gave them $30 (plus the $15 tip.) This wasn't a greedy sales associate, but the manager I was talking with! If this is how they treat new customers, we won't be back!\r PS- The massage was okay, but comparable to everywhere else. Earthling offers a wide variety of services and I've been very pleased with the skill level of the spa therapists. I've had therapeutic & aromatherapy treatments, as well as a hot stone massage and a facial. The spa also has a nice shop with body products, jewelry, clothing, etc, and also offers some of the best Pilates classes in town. The front desk staff could be a little better informed and provide better customer service which is the reason for my 4-star "staff expertise" rating. But overall, this is the spa I recommend to friends when asked for spa referrals. more

Earthling was BEAUTIFUL! Not only was I able to make my massage appointment kind of last minute (a godsend with my busy schedule!), but I had an excellent massage therapist who catered to my needs. The staff as a whole was very nice and the prices were very reasonable for Charleston. Not to mention that a 1-hour massage really was a full 60-minutes! I just got back from earthling, and wanted to post something about my massage therapist. Her name is Eva and I thought she was the best! Very strong hands, and worked areas I asked her to concentrate on. At first I thought it would maybe be too soft, but when she asked if I would like it harder she was then PERFECT! I really thought this was one of the best massages I have ever gotten! Will go back for sure! Pros: Very clean, Relaxing enviroment, professional more
