Professional, affordable, trustworthy service! 6/18/2012

I have been a customer of Dunn's for about 5 years. They've serviced several of my vehicles from Audi to BMW. They've always treated me fairly and honestly. I've never been made to feel disrespected or taken advantage of and they've always taken the time to answer my questions and concerns regardless of how trivial they may seem. Jeff and Jason, as well as J.T. are awesome! I actually consider them friends as well. \r I recently took my daughters 330xi in for a repair after taking it to Zimbrick for the LAST time. I was given a quote of around $2600, for various repairs that I was told was necessary. One was a "leaking" power steering hose for about $600! Jason had one of his mechanics thoroughly inspect the car and not only were the repairs significantly less expensive, the "leaking" power steering hose wasn't leaking at all, it just had oil on it from the leaking oil housing gasket above it! My repairs went from $2600 to around $800! Thanks Zimbrick for confirming my alread more

Repair done poorly and given beat up car for loaner 3/1/2011

I had a Mercedes 300E that needed repairs. Took to Dunn's to try out versus Zimbrick. Jeff was friendly and got the repair done. I drove to Watertown from Madison for business and the repaired part was installed improperly and left me stranded. I called and they paid to tow it back to Middleton. They kept the car for a week, gave me a beat up loaner car with no AC in the middle of July. Jeff was unapologetic and said his mechanics work in the heat all day, and you can expect mistakes. Those were his words! I could not believe it. I never went back. I had heard good things before I went, but this is my experience with Dunn's and it was not good. more

Saved $5,000 Over Zimbrick! 1/24/2010

2000 BMW 328i 150k miles; over-heated, taken to Zimbrick. Zimbrick said I had a blown head gasket and the repair would cost $5,000 - $7,000 for a rebuilt head and all labor. They supplied me with a loaner and a week to think about it. Pros: Honest Fast Service Cons: No Loaner Car more

Trustworthy Mechanic--Only good things to say! 7/31/2009

I couldn't be happier with Dunn's Import. I have been a loyal Honda owner for the last decade, and Dunns has been a trustworthy partner in keeping my vehicles in great shape. When I had a very old Accord (130K+ miles), Zimbrick tried telling me that my car was unsafe without nearly $2000 in repairs! That was more than the blue book worth! Dunns, on the other hand, helped me to identify what needed to be fixed and kept that car running for another 3 years with only $300 in repairs. Finally, when the car truly was done, Dunn's were honest with me and told me it was time to dump the car. That level of honesty is what has kept me their client for the last 5 years (and three different Honda vehicles). more

obvious better prices and service than zimbrick 12/11/2008

after reading a few reviews i realize that a few people have unreasonable expectations and just proves that a person to take the time to write a review obviously has time on their hands and wasn't inconvenienced so much that it deserved a bad review. Jeff Dunn always knows me by name and was over $93.00 cheaper for a headlight replacement than zimbrick on a halogen light repair. Also the technician told me it was unnecessary to repair both lights if only one was not working where zimbrick told me to do both which would make my price in the neighborhood of 200.00 for new headlight bulbs. other reviews show that some people are never satisfied with anything and mistakes are unacceptable in their world.. more

Careless and unapologetic 6/11/2008

I was warned years ago never go to Dunn's. Now I can warn you. Go to Zimbrick where they actually know what they?re doing and treat you with respect. It will save you time and money. To the above review ^ : RESPECT is NOT an "unreasonable expectation." Pros: NO Cons: YES more

Required work performed quickly 8/8/2005

Recently needed several repairs to 2 Saabs that I own, including 90K mile service and other routine maint. Was informed that clutch work (among other things) that the Saab dealer recommended was unnecessary. Dunn's got my car in quickly, performed all work necessary to make it run top-notch again, and got it back to me as fast as possible. This is the second time they have recommended NOT getting work done because I didn't need it (first time was A/C-related). Their familiarity with my car and impressive customer service will keep me coming back - as much can't be said for the local Saab/GM dealer. PROS: Only performed needed work - didn't try to soak me for as much $ possible. CONS: more

Terrible recent repair and service for longtime customer 6/20/2005

I was a customer for many years and thought I trusted and respected Dunn's Import but a recent repair experience has me completely unsatisfied. The wrong part was installed in my car and not only was I inconvenienced because it took another day to properly repair my car, but I was treated very poorly by both the owner and members of the staff. It's alarming to think that experts cannot recognize that the incorrect part was received and installed into a car, especially a repair that cost $400.00. I will never return to this business nor do I recommend it to anyone. more

Good Honest Repair at Reasonable Prices 5/22/2005

If you want a full service repair shop that will treat you with respect and not rip you off, then I would recommend Dunns. They specialize in foreign car repairs and are experts. I've had my car serviced by them for years. Jeff Dunn, the owner, is always friendly and explains mechancial repairs to customers in a way that is 100% understandable. The shop's turnover of employees is very low; the same mechanic has worked on my car since I started taking it there. PROS: Trusted, honest and excellent car repair CONS: none more
