I have nothing but praise for my experience with Dunk & Bright.Sherrie is the one to see -she knew just what I should have for my living room. She was right-it's me ! The delivery persons were very professional. All my furniture was made in America so you just need to ask if that is what you want.I would not hesitate to recommend this store. more

Went into the store to buy a sectional and found one I was very pleased with. I purchased the sectional put a down payment and arrange for delivery for two weeks. I was told I would recieve a call to confirm my order and to be notified of any problems. I recieved a call early the following week, saying they have my order and would be there on time. Well as luck would have it I get a called the day before delivery telling me the item is not available for delivery and the person didnt know why. I called called the following day to have someone tell me the ""cup holders are on back order"" for my sectional, and it would now be 4 weeks for delievery. I decided to wait it out. 4 weeks go by and not one call from Dunk & Bright. Going into the 5th week I decide to call and speak with a manager. He does some research into the matter and tells me that the 'LANE' company has run out of fabric??? I them tell him how I was told it was cupholders, he responds with ""Well it might be cupholders, I looked up the order and it said back ordered so I assumed fabric."" So what he did was make up some random excuse. He then says well Im authorised to take 100 bucks off your order for the hassle. (which is a laughable 2.5%) Then says my order is still another 3 weeks out. Meaning from time of order to a POSSIBLE delivery I was looking at 9-10 weeks!!!! I said well I dont think 100 is fair if it wasnt for me calling you guys I still wouldnt know anything, And if someone would like to do better than 100 bucks off I would like to hear it and consider it, otherwise I would like to cancel my order. The manager said no more asked for my credit card number and gave me back my deposit. In my experience this was the WORST service of its kind!!!! Didnt even try to make me happy for a possible repeat sale! I worked in retail for a hardware store for 8 yrs and this kind of service would never happen. You always make the customer happy. How many customers talk about happy experiences about stores to their friends??? Now think of how many poor service experiences you hear about.... and you best believe I will spread the word of what happened to me!\r more

Contrary to some unflattering comments about D&B, we were very satisfied with all aspects of working with the D&B team and the product received. Following an extensive search for a bar which would be complimentary to other recent furniture purchases, Kathleen Reed (Int Dec) found the perfect piece. The order experienced difficulties at the Mfg. which were out of D&B’s control. Kathleen and Rita Romano (Cust Serv) went on and beyond to keep us informed as to the status of the order and were willing to work out any alternate terms we desired. When the bar arrived, the delivery personnel managed to navigate a very narrow and winding driveway with no property damage resulting. The two men, Tom & Lance, performed heroic efforts to insure the bar, which weighed several hundred pounds, was positioned in our home as requested, without so much as a minor scratch. This was no small feat considering the awkwardness of the unit and the location requested. more

I have had a terrible experience with Dunk and Bright. I purchased a groupon for ""bedroom furniture and mattresses"" at Dunk and Bright, but when I attempted to use it they would not honor it. They added additional restrictions to it that were not stated on my groupon. They said I could only use it on ""a mattress, box-spring, bed frame, dresser or mirror that attaches to a dresser."" I bought the groupon to use on a bookcase that is part of one of their bedroom sets (or at least it is displayed as bedroom furniture on their showroom), so it became useless to me when they refused to honor it as it was stated. Groupon support contacted them over a month ago to try and resolve it and they have not responded since. Come to find out when I was discussing this situation with my father-in-law that he bought a chair from them and paid to have it delivered. The problem was they delivered the wrong chair and then guess what? They made him pay another delivery fee to have the correct chair delivered! He had already paid for the chair so what else was he supposed to do? He is old, he can't go get it himself. I have only written a negative review one other time in my life, so I am not a complainer. I am only writing this because I would want to know this kind of thing, so I am passing it on in an attempt to save people from having to suffer the kind of experiences my father-in-law and I have. I hope this helps. more

I don't have one good word to say about 6/10/2012

I don't have one good word to say about Dunk & Bright Furniture as of today with the one exception of the sales girl Nadine. My 80yr old mother went into the store yesterday with my sister, in search of some furniture for a condo she and my 84year old dad are purchasing as they can no longer keep up with the care of their home. These people have worked very hard for many years raised 5 children and suffered many setbacks throughout the years. With some extra cash from the sale of their home it was their plan to buy some nice bedroom furniture. She was interested in a double dresser that was in the clearance area in the basement. It was a beautiful piece of furniture and so she then found a headboard that was a close match for it. She needed to get my dad down there to look at it before she would make a purchase of several hundreds of dollars without his approval. The sales clerk puts a sold ticket on it to hold for them to come back in today and get his approval. As planned, they went in today and I tagged along. They said yes to the furniture and went about their business looking for livingroom furniture. The sales clerk approaches my parents and gives them the bad news that the dresser was sold to a man who came into the store after my mom left yesterday. Even though another sales clerk saw the sold sign on it, he pursued the sale and approached the manager and got his permission to sell it to this person who was offering cash to buy it. Without any concern to this person who just needed to have one day to let them know if they were getting it or not. I would think an honest business man would tell his sales person to get the gentleman's number and if it didn't sell to this person holding it, it would be his to purchase. I have no respect for this sales person whoever he or she is and I definitely have a feeling of disgust with the store manager over his actions. He not only upset my parents with his behavior but he took a sale away from one of his other employee's. This is not business ethics I agree with, my husband and I are business owners and we've never treated our customers with anything but respect. That's what good business is, and that will carry you through many years of the public supporting you and passing on the compliments to others that may need your service. I will never recommend or have anything good to say about your furniture store after the way my elderly parents were treated by your Prize Winning Store Manager....... more

Mostly Cheap Chinese Made Junk 2/2/2012

The furniture looks nice, and the coffee and cookies are tasty. However, MOST of the furniture is made in China where manufacturing is less regulated. This furniture will make your house stink for years and possibly affect your allergies. Do yourself a favor and find local made solid furniture. There are several out there, including Johnny Appleseed Farms near Cazenovia. I have purchased from both places and the quality and service at the later is far superior. Only wish I had known before we spent $15K at D&B. Stay away from D&B. If you want cheap furniture, go to the other big stores. more

Great store with some super salespeople! 3/21/2011

Every time I go into this store, I ask for Sue Okoniewski; she's caring, thoughtful, and will give you all the time you need or want. She took me down to the bargain barn when I sucked breath at the price of an item I liked, and she called me when a piece that matched some furniture I bought previously from her went on markdown! \r \r I've never felt pressured to buy from Sue; and she lets me wander around and look in books and look at fabrics all I like. \r \r If you want great service from a really knowledgeable and ""in touch"" designer, Sue's the one! more

Buyer Beware 2/26/2011

This is the first time in my life I have ever felt compelled to write an online review of a store, service or experience. Having shopped around, we settled on a dining room set from Dunk & Bright. Needless to say, we thought we were paying for quality new furniture. What appeared out our house was either used furniture or severely mishandled merchandise. After the two delivery men tracked mud and snow all over our kitchen and dining room, we took a chance to look out our new furniture. A scratch on the front of the china cabinet is nothing compared to the chunk of wood that split off the back. Oh, there's black paint on that chair. Another chair has a leg that's cracked in two. One arm chair had an arm that is broken. Three chairs rock as though the legs aren't even and another had the stain rubbed off the back. Yes, you are reading correctly. 7 of the 8 chairs were damaged. Oh, and the delivery men dropped the leaves as they were coming through the door... so (you guessed it) a part of one leaf broke off completely. I could go on, but will say that we did not enjoy the experience. And customer service couldn't care less. Neither could our salesman. Oh well, back to Syracuse the whole set goes.. along with any chance of us ever doing business with them again. BUYER BEWARE!! more

Great Personal Service 9/7/2010

We went into Dunk & Bright looking for a piece of furniture that we weren't thrilled to buy, but felt we needed to purchase it as a necessity for our new BIG t.v. Amy Scarsi was helping us & sensed our apprehension. She showed us a completely different way to lay out our family room which allowed us to purchase pieces of furniture that we were excited about! She is going to work further with us to help with color scheme & decorating, and we can't wait! Amy wasn't just interested in making the sale. She truly helped us solve our decorating problem and really cared about our needs. more

If you shop at D&B you MUST ask for Amy Scarsi! 9/1/2010

Amy is great to work with! I just built a house and couldn't have done it without her help. She had great ideas along with a great sense of style. Amy really took her time and listened to my needs and wants. Her expertise seems to be color so if that is an area that you find hard like me, then this is your girl! I have a lot more decorating to do with my house and will definitely be going back to D&B to work with Amy. Thanks Amy, I can't wait to work with you again!!!! You're the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Insist on Amy Scarsi if you need help !!! 8/27/2010

Amy came highly recommended and certainly lived up to all the hype. Although we were interested in updating our living room she assisted with color schemes in our kitchen and bedroom. The furniture she sold us was not the most expensive but was correct for our needs. Additionally she gave us designer advice on wall decorations, accents and basic decorating rules.\r Amy Scarsi is personable, energetic and talented. The first half hour she just listened to what we wanted and what we were trying to do. Thank you Dunk & Bright. more

Great Designer/Sales 8/23/2010

Amy Scarsi at Dunk & Bright is the person to consult when buying furniture. She has excellent taste and can help you put your entire room and design together. She does not just stop with helping you pick out great furniture, but gives amazing advice on paint colors, accessories, and pictures. This is not the pushy sales experience that you find at most stores. Amy will help you from the designer standpoint and you will be 100% satisfied with your experience. more

Call Amy! 8/23/2010

We wouldn't think of going anywhere but Dunk & Bright and Amy Rodham Scarsi is the reason. Whenever we need an idea for furniture, room design, paint or accessory our first step is to call Amy! more

Pleasant Shopping Experience 8/22/2010

My wife and I have shopped at Dunk and Bright in the past and visited them this weekend. As in the past we were very pleased with the professional and knowledgeable staff. We found exactly what we were looking for at a competitive price with the help of Kathleen Reed. If you are looking for quality furniture at a good price, and want professional service, look up Kathleen Reed at Dunk & Bright Furniture. more

Best In Class Service & Quality Furniture 8/22/2010

I have made many purchases from Dunk & Bright over the years, They have a tremendous selection of quality furniture at a reasonable price. I must say that they have a very knowledgeable sales staff! I have read some less than desirable reviews about service, I would recommend that they seek out Kathleen Reed! Home interior design is an art, & she has the gift of making a house, a home. Once she understood my requirements, She did not just try to sell me what was on the showroom floor, she spent many hours doing the research necessary to find great pieces of furniture that match my home perfectly! Great Store! more

Courteous, Pleasant, Professional Sales Person 8/19/2010

I have purchased many items from Dunk and Bright in the past two years. Marie Dashnaw has been my salesperson of choice. Since the monent she introduced herself to me, I felt confident in her ability to assist me in purchasing the right furniture for my home. I have not met a more knowledgeable salesperson, or one as enthusiastic, at any other retail store, anywhere.\r Dunk and Bright should count their blessings that they have this outstanding salesperson representing their company. more

Always our top choice 8/17/2010

My husband and I have been patronizing Dunk & Bright for over 10 years now and are absolutely pleased with everything they have helped us with. Our interior decorator, Marie Dashnaw, really knows our taste and budget and is always dead on with her suggestions and ideas. We received nothing but top notch customer service. Pieces that were damanged during shipment were replaced in a timely manner. Items that did not stack up to our expectations were always returned and another, more appealing selection was made. Our home is a Dunk & Bright showcase home as everything in it has come from them. We could not be happier and would highly recommend them to anybody who is in the redecorating mode or even just in need of a single piece of furniture. Thanks, Dunk & Bright (Marie), for everything! more
