NOT recommend! On the positive side.... this facility is very nice inside. The receptionist was professional and helpful, wait time was about 20 minutes.......but then the experience went totally down hill for me.\r \r Dr. Getz was the physician who saw me. I found him very unprofessional. He was at times condescending, arrogant and even sarcastic. I certainly didn't find him particularity knowledgeable either for a specialist. I wouldn't recommend this guy in a million years! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/2/2012

Last week I visited Dundee Dermatology to get some help with some hyper pigmentation spots and recurring breakouts. This was my first visit to a dermatologist so I did not quite know what to expect but Dr Getz made me feel very comfortable and discussed my options with me thoroughly. He did a great job of explaining the different prescriptions to me and how they will work. A week later I am already able to tell a difference in my skin, thank you Dr Getz! more

Terrible Experience 3/22/2012

I wonder after reading the five star reviews if this place has a second location in Dundee where the service is actually decent. I am a new patient and my first appointment was at 10am yesterday. They recommend you arrive early to fill out paperwork so I arrive at 9:44. The receptionist is incredibly rude and practically throws the clipboard at me (doesn't greet me or say welcome, etc...) and says ""give me your photo ID and insurance card"". I do and complete my paperwork and promptly give it to her. At 10:22 I ask her if the doctor typically runs this late and she responds ""well he must be stuck with a patient"". I ask her to humor me and inquire about what time he will be available because my time is valuable and I don't want to spend all morning in the office. \r \r She checks and tells me five minutes. At 10:35 I am called back into the office. The nurse is Terri and she is extremely nice and courteous and apologizes for the wait and obviously introduces herself. Terri also indicated they have my appointment at 10:10 (which is odd because their automated system to confirm appointments said 10am) \r \r The doctor comes in the room - I don't know what doctor it was since he failed to introduce himself and provides me with the quickest visit I have ever had. I think he spent maybe 5 minutes with me. He seemed nice enough but was rushed (and since I was practically naked he could have introduced himself) and he didn't exactly instill confidence in his communication with me. \r \r Needless to say I am never going back to that place. more

Wonderful! 1/15/2012

I have been going to Dundee Derm for the past three years, and I have been meaning to write a review for a long time...I finally made myself sit down and write one today after reading some of the other reviews. I think it is really hard to find a good dermatologist these days. I have been to my share of dermatology offices, and I will honestly say that this practice is by far better (hands down!) than any other practice I have been to. I love the staff...they know me by name and never make me feel like I'm just another patient. Dr. Getz has always been wonderful, and I've had a few emergencies and somehow they always seem to accomodate me and get me in quickly. Also, they are open on SATURDAYS!! I, like many other people, work during the weekdays....so I love the fact that I can make a Saturday appointment and don't have to take time off of work. Lastly, I think its important as a patient to feel like the doctor and the staff are really trying to help. And, in the past, I didn't quite get that feeling from other doctors, but I think Dundee Derm and their staff have been wonderful. There is a reason I have been going there for the past 3 years and tell all of my friends/co-workers about this place. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants a great dermatologist! more

Terrific Practice 1/9/2012

We are so thankful for Dundee Dermatology. Our son suffers from psoriasis which had proven difficult to treat. Dr. Getz has carefully prescribed progressively stronger treatments to find what worked best, and the condition has nearly disappeared. The staff has been very flexible in getting him in for treatments while he was home from college and they have helped work out issues with our insurance company. We give our highest recommendation to Dundee Dermatology! more

Professional with exceptional service 1/9/2012

Dundee Dermatology came highly recommended. My wife and I each had different skin issues. The office staff was very pleasant and efficient in processing us through check in. We did not have to wait long to be directed to an examining room. Between the two of us, we have seen three different doctors. Each doctor was very professional and friendly. The doctors provided thorough examinations, explanations of the diagnoses and answers to all of our questions. Our skin issues were properly treated and resolved. We will be referring our family and friends to the professional doctors at Dundee Dermatology. more

Ridiculous charge for ineffective routine 1/6/2012

Went to have 1 wart removed. Dr sprayed the area for 5 seconds with liquid nitro. Was advised it would fall off. No bandaid, no suture. Just a spray can. Done deal. Charge was $300 for a 5 minute visit. Wart did not fall off and got worse (itching and moderate pain). Called office administrator to plea case. She did not guarantee I would not be charged again if I returned. Bought an drugstore remedy and wart fell off in 3 days. Cost: $16. Called Dundee Dermatology Administrator again and offered to pay 1/3 of balance to be nice and amicable. She refused & asked me to pay up. Administrator stated (and I quote): ""If I do this for you, I would have to do this for everyone."" And I think to myself: 1. ""Who do you think you are"" and 2. ""Are we still in High School?"" Got a call from collection agency today and told them the story. After our conversation, they almost seemed apologetic. Note: I took ""before"" and ""after"" photos with dates to prove case. Stated I am willing to settle but agency hands are tied as Dundee Dermatology wants the total balance due. NO negotiation. Guess what. They are getting nothing. I am a Dundee Resident for 30 years... I have a voice. more

Highly Recommended Dermatology Office! 10/18/2011

From the moment you call the office to schedule an appointment, the staff is friendly. They have accomodating hours in the evening and on Saturdays. When I entered the office, I was greeted by a warm receptionist. The medical assistants who took me back to the room were smiling and very friendly. Dr. Getz was extremely knowledgable and genuinely concerned . He thoroughly answered my questions and addressed my concerns. Directions on using the medicines were given to me in a way that I could understand.Everyone in the office was pleasant and I would highly recommend Dundee Dermatology! more

Excellent Experience & Fantastic Care!! 10/17/2011

Hi Everyone!\r \r I was referred by one of my friends to Dundee Dermatology and was very happy that I made an appointment. The ladies who work with Dr. Getz were outstanding. They greeted me with a smile and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Getz most definitely introduced himself and made sure I understood my condition, the meds that were prescribed and when to follow-up. All details were provided and everyone was fantastic. I think it is important to let others know when you have had a good experience. I am happy to report that Dundee Dermatology was extremely professional and well worth my time! more

Rip off 8/8/2011

It is $115.00 just to walk in the door of this office. The Doctor spent all of 5 minutes with me! He was not the least bit friendly & was 20 minutes late for my appointment... It was my first visit there & he failed to even introduce himself. I had to ask 20 questions about the prescription & what he made of my condition, as he dispensed absolutely no effort into explaining what he saw. To top it all off, I received a $35.00 missed appointment fee for an appointment that the office failed to confirm. more

VINDICTIVE, Juvenile and Egotistical Doctor 5/1/2011

UPDATE*** 5/1/2011---------- Well we finally got a call back from Dr. Getz, who prescribed three different things for my wife's condition (guess work), and it sounded like he didn't have a clue who she was and what he had previously diagnosed. So he said he called in the prescriptions to our local pharmacy. The next day, I get a voicemail from Dr. Getz stating that he READ OUR ONLINE REVIEW here, and decided to CANCEL OUR PRESCRIPTIONS. He then said we should find another doctor. So this doctor is so juvenile, egotistical and vindictive that he is willing to penalize his patients and allow them to suffer because he doesn't like people telling the truth about him and exposing his negligent care on the internet. If I get any kind of an invoice from his office for services rendered, I will be looking for a medical malpractice attorney. What kind of a doctor does that??? more

BEWARE- THEY WILL LEAVE YOU HIGH & DRY 4/29/2011

Superb & compassionate?? What- do you work there? Both my wife and I have been there on multiple occasions, and each time we have had the same problem- inept, arrogant, incompetent staff. The doctors themselves are OK once you get to them, but don't expect ANY communication from them, follow ups or call backs after your appointment. Once you are out of there, they could care less. I had a problem, was diagnosed by the doctor, and was given meds. After three days the meds still weren't working, and so I called on a Thursday afternoon and left a message for my doctor. They said she was busy with patients so I asked for her to call back. At 4:30 PM I called again and they said the doc left for the day. I called again Friday AM, and they said the same thing- busy with patients. I left another message. I called again Friday PM, they said doc was gone. I left a message for the doc saying it was imperative that I get a call back and that I was in pain. Well the doc was off on Monday and I got a call back Tuesday afternoon. I chalked this up to a new admin staff having a bad day- gave them the benefit of the doubt. Silly me, I sent my wife to them. What happens? She has a skin problem, sees the doc who gives her meds. A week later the meds stop working and her condition starts to worsen. We call the office on Friday morning, and they said to leave a message for the medical staff. We left a message stating my wife WAS IN PAIN, and needed to speak to the doc. So what do you know- the doc leaves without calling us back! Same thing that happened to me, but a different doc! Now my wife is suffering the entire weekend until some inept admin either decides to check the messages, or the doctor decides that they are done at the golf course and should call some patients back. Either way, this place has a history of not calling people back, not relaying messages and staffing the office with arrogant, inept, negligent help. Either that or they could care less about their patients. Either one is not good. Buyer beware! more

Superb & Compassionate 11/10/2010

So many times, reviews are only written when we are unhappy with the goods or services that we have received. Today, I wanted to carve out some time to discuss the other. I have recently visited Dundee Dermatology and had an excellent experience with a friendly and caring staff. Upon visiting this facility you await your appointment in their clean and comfortable waiting area. You may be thinking ""so what""; but I feel that it is a reflection on what's to come. Upon being called in to see the doctor, I was asked thorough questions about my condition by what I regarded as a very gracious and caring assistant. I was next greeted by Dr. Jain in a similar fashion; cordial and sociable. We discussed my symptoms and later the doctor's diagnosis of my condition. Yes, you are correct in thinking, that it is the doctor’s job. What captured my attention with this office is their genuine empathy for the patient. Today, many of us have frenzied lifestyles and with the economy in such turmoil, more and more people endure an extreme amount of stress. To find such humanity is fortunate and has been valued by me. I recommend this dermatology office and anticipate that their superb care continues. more
