Best

My children LOVE IT at DWA! We have been here for a few months and they are learning so much! The staff and management are so dedicated and accommodating. I cannot say enough good...

Worst

I had a terrible experience with the staff. The doctor double vaccinated my dog and charged me for it. Staff was rude and never even asked if my dog was ok when I called about c...

Long time customer LOST. 9/29/2010

I have always used Dick and will NEVER be back. Due to their office's negligence and lack of sending a notice, my dog was overdue for her yearly shots for 8 months, and was 2 months overdue for her heartworm medicine during the hottest summer in history. My messages were never returned when inquiring about when she was due. I would NOT recommend this clinic anymore, as it seems they are loosing their edge. more

Wouldn't Go Anywhere Else! 9/13/2010

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Best for more than 20 years, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! He is truly the BEST and most caring Vet I have ever encountered. Yes, sometimes you have to wait . . . but my babies are worth it. I don't mind waiting to make certain my animals have the best care. more

VERY HAPPY with DR. BEST 5/22/2010

I'm a new 'forever' client at Due West Animal Clinic and could not be happier! Most importantly, my dog and kitties are VERY happy.Dr. Best and all the girls there are so sweet and helpful-many times they give me samples of medicines to try before I have to pay for a full prescription. I usually have to wait a little bit, but that's because Dr. Best gives everyone as much time as they need - so I really appreciate that full attention when it's my turn. I used to go to Lost Mountain, but that Dr. Newsom is all about how much money you can pay first. They wouldn't give you a paper bag over there and they make you sign that you'll pay before they'll do anything! Thank goodness my neighbor told me about Dr. Best - I'll never go anywhere else, even if I have to wait! more

Not Happy!! 5/21/2010

I took my cat to this clinic on a Saturday for the first time so we saw the part-time vet. He not only misdiagnosed my cat but he gave me EXPIRED medication that cost $45. When I called to ask for a refund for the medication, I was told someone would call me back but they never did. I have called 3 more times. Each time I was told that I would get my money back and someone would return my call. It's 2 weeks later and still nothing. Good thing I went to a different vet who knows what they are doing!!!\r Do NOT bring your animals here! more

Not pleased 3/31/2010

I stopped taking my dog a couple years ago after a bad experience. I went to clinic for an appt. I thought was at 4:00. I was told I was mistaken the appt. was for 5:00. Did the staff try to work me in? Nope. I actually waiting until 5:30 until my pet was seen. I guess all the people who gave 5 star ratings must have been seen right on time. My second issue: my dog was getting an annual required shot that I was being charged $300 for. When I found my new vet, I got that same shot for $100 and it lasts for 3 years. Though Dr. Best is the closest vet I will never take my pets there nor would I recommend him. I'm glad everyone else is so pleased. I was not. more

Best vet!! 3/6/2010

They truly have a passion for animals. Like many of you, I'm sure you feel your dogs are like your children and have a very special place in your heart. I looked everywhere for a vet this great!! I will never go anywhere else!! They are so gentle and clean...Highly recommended!! more

Bill S. must be full of it..... 1/18/2010

No wonder Bill only used his last initial...S... Because he is full of it. Perhaps he was at the office during a particularly busy day, or maybe even during an emergency that Dr. Best needed to attend to immediately. I have been taking my dogs there for over 3 years, one that is being treated for epilepsy, which is not a pretty sight. Dr. Best tried everything prior to prescribing phenobarbitol, for fear that it does shorten the dogs life span. I once asked Dr. Best if he would do a DNA test on my mutt, and rather than charge me the $150 or so for the test, he simply said " I can tell you what kind of dog you have.... he is the perfect mixed-breed dog". That's all I needed to know....\r \r Bill, I hope the next time you are walking your pet, you step in a big ol' pile of "S"!!!!! more

Due West Animal Clinic is your pet's best friend! 12/6/2009

My name is General Chin Li. I am a 14-year-old-going-on-a-hundred shorthair white & black pussycat. I'm here to testify to how grateful I am that my domestic slaves, Mr. & Mrs. Sayyah, saved my life by placing me in the care of the pet pros at Due West Animal Clinic& Dr. Best! Being a general by rank, I insisted on being treated for what was a life-threatening tumorous ear infection by the best pet-vets, bar none; Dr. Richard Best & his great staff at "Due West!" Two other pet-care clinics advised that (due to my age, the costs of surgery & medications, and a likely painful & extensive recovery period, because of me scratching at the wound) I be put to sleep. Of course, at first that sounded great since I love to sleep. BUt, when I learned that "Put to Sleep" really meant "KAPUT," I growled & told my servants to keep on searching. Well now, I thank Catwoman, that we were led to Dr. Best & his Due West team! He examined me, found I was in great health, operated on my tumor, housed, fe more

My name is General Chin Li. I am a 14-year-old-going-on-a-hundred shorthair white & black pussycat. I want to tell ya'll how grateful I am that my domestic slaves, Mr. & Mrs. Sayyah, saved my life by placing me in the care of the pet pros, Due West Animal Clinic& Dr. Best! \r \r Being a general by rank, I insisted on being treated for what was a life-threatening tumorous ear infection by the best pet-vet, bar none; Dr. Richard Best & his staff.\r \r Two other pet-care clinics advised that (due to my age, the costs of surgery & medications, and a likely painful & extensive recovery period, because of my scratching at the wound) I be put to sleep. Of course, at first that sounded great since I love to sleep! BUt, when I learned that ""Put to Sleep"" really meant ""KAPUT,"" I growled & told my servants to keep on searching.\r \r Well now, I thank Catwoman, that we were led to Dr. Best & his Due West team! He examined me, found I was in great health, operated on my tumor, housed, fed & nursed me for 3 days. His staff treated me in the royal fashion to which I am accustomed, of course. They catered to my every need most affectionately! Though, at times, I had to endure their embarrassing pettings in front of other ""Due West"" inmates.\r \r On the fourth day I came home with no bandages or e-collar. It was magical! Instead of using conventional surgery as the other vets proposed, Dr. Best applied a state-of-the-art ""Cauterizing"" & bloodless procedure, that removed the tumor and, at the same time, sealed-off the capillaries so that stitching and bandaging was not necessary. I am alert and fit as a fiddle. \r \r Thank You Dr. Best, and the Due West staff for the all your tender love & care that saved my life!\r \r PS: The total cost for everything was extremely reasonable, too! However, this kitty, being of such royal stature, and a general to boot, cannot be bothered with trivia like getting a job or paying bills, etc. why I have all I can do to guard the homestead against chipmunks, squirrels, and birds and such! Working, paying bills and other menials I leave to my servants. (PURRR)\r \r Pros: Dr. Richard Best is THE BEST! Cons: The don't treat elephants more

Ryan Family 6/11/2009

Dr. Best's facility and staff continue to impress us! Our dog has demonstrated extreme anxiety in the past and always hated to be boarded - but since becoming a member of Dr. Best's family our dog has calmed down considerably. He always enjoys his visits for annual check ups, and 'recovers' from his time away from us much quicker when left in the competent hands of Dr. Best's staff. Our family is very pleased with the world class service our dog receives and we appreciate the positive and professional attitude toward those of us who consider our pets' well-being as important as our own. more

Dr. Best is the Best Veterinarian in Atlanta 5/7/2009

Dr. Best has taken care of all of my dogs for the last 18 years. He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever meet. He spends time with his dogs. He answers all of your questions, no matter how long it takes. He cares. more

knowledgeable, caring staff 3/6/2009

I am new to the area and have been taking my puppies to this clinic. They are very knowledgeable about the breed and fawn all over the dogs when I take them in. Dr. Best's experience with the animal control law enforcement in Cobb County shows he really cares about animals and how they are treated. I am very satisfied. more

Dr. Best - the BEST!!! 2/16/2009

I moved to Georgia 6 years ago and looked for a vet before I even found a MD. Dr. Best is the most professional, caring, and "medically - up - to - date" vet I have ever met. I have recommended friends to his practice and they are all exceedingly pleased with the care he takes with their animals as well. more

Due West Animal Clinic 2/14/2009

I have been going to Dr. Best and his clinic for years. I have used them for boarding my greyhound, and for care for her and my cats. I have been pleased by the care my animals have received but the reason I keep going back is that Dr. Best and his staff are compassionate and just really love the animals they care for. I think they loved my greyhound as much as me, and they were in the room crying with me when I finally had to put her to sleep. They have diagnosed problems and done surgeries with all my animals. I recommend them to anyone who loves their pets. more

dr.best 2/2/2009

i don't know what Bill S. is talking about but i assure you Dr.Best and his staff are the most polite and caring people. sorry for the confusion Bill S has caused. Due West animal is wonderful (: more

DR. WORST 1/30/2009

I have filed reports with Cobb Animal Control,Cobb Humane Society and the Secretary of State, license review board for his objectionable & unconscionable behavior;please e-mail me for copies of my letters. more

wonderful, caring, professional service 9/2/2008

Dr. Best has been taking care of me dogs since moving to Georgia 6 years ago. He and his staff always smile and greet my dogs first! He also takes time to listen and consider all aspects of my dogs' health as he and I decide on treatments and checks. more

Dr. Best is the best! 8/7/2008

We recently had to have our 12 y/o welsh corgi put to sleep and Dr. Best and his staff took very good care of us and our dog. They are compassionate, wonderful professionals and I highly recommend them! Thank you. Susan more

General Pet Care 11/27/2007

Dr. Best and his staff are compassionate and knowledgeable about all types of pets. They were especially compassionate when we had to euthanize our cat. Dr. Best explained our options and at the time the only option was to put her to sleep since her quality of life had deteriorated so much. He was kind, sympathetic, and just plain sincere. I was very impressed when 2 days later I received a condolence card in the mail from them. It is truly heart warming to know that there is an animal clinic who cares 1st about the animals and their owners. more

A great place to board your pet 4/28/2006

After some bad experiences with other boarding facilities, it was great to find a different scenario at Due West Animal Clinic. The kennel staff here does a great job in caring for your pet. They apparently have been well trained and seem to be animal lovers. I understand they offer pet obedience training classes as well. more
