Dream House Windows

The job was to take out a half round window and replace it with a new one that matched the two double hung windows just below it. They missed the first scheduled day for installation. The day they did show they did not have the proper "J" channel that goes above/around the window. They found something that would work, removed the half round and installed the new window. The window was significantly smaller than the opening & the decorative grid pattern inside the window did not match the double hung windows just beneath it. The "fix" for this was to replace the perfectly good double hung windows below, at 50% of the cost (an additional $430 to me which they tried to bill at $480). It was more than a month when the half round was removed and installed with the new double hung windows below. The install left a very large caulk joint, 3 inches or more (not the typical bead of caulk). The installation was unsightly both inside and out. This has been confirmed by two different installers that work for Dream House. Dream House said they would do cosmetic repairs inside & outside. They showed one day and added trim to the inside which helped but the existing window treatments do not fit back in place. They did not have the parts to repair the outside. A detailed repair explanation was written. They did not show for the next scheduled repair. Then they showed but "could not do the repair." No explanation. Then they showed another day but didn't have enough materials. Then they didn't show for the next scheduled day. They showed one more time but had no idea what to do. They will need to come again. Sometimes they don't have the materials. Twice they didn't have ladders long enough to reach the work. Once I searched the internet for a siding place to purchase the "J" channel and one time to find a longer ladder to rent. Their internal communication is a joke. The original measurements were taken on March 28, 2013 - we are one week short of 6 months! It took 6 months but they finally corrected the window installation. It now looks like a proper installation. The president of the company admitted that the problems I endured never should have happened and he did refund the price of the windows that I did not need. However, I cannot recommend this company. more

Just had to let you know how incredibly happy I am with my house. I have to admit, with the original miscommunication with our service date got me a little nervous, but when the owner of the company called me personally and promised to remedy the problem I was more than pleased. The next day an amazing team of workers showed up in 100 degree weather, and worked all day barely even taking a break. Two days later I have the most beautiful house in the neighborhood. I am so pleased. My husband and myself are not easily pleased we are very picky. I have a gorgeous sliding door and the siding is perfect. I actually have people pulling over to tell us how beautiful our house is. I just wish I had more work for you to do. I recommend this company a million percent. Ever since tropical storm SANDY back in October of 2012, my bedroom window broke. It made a wierd popping sound. I looked up the contract for the windows to my home and according to Dream House Windows, its covered for replacement. 8 months past by and still waiting for 1 window to be replaced. I've had 4 visits from their technicians and every time they came, it was the WRONG SIZE WINDOW! REALLY! Ordering a window for its proper size took 14 days to make. Scheduling appointments was longer, but never thought it will take this long. I was rescheduled twice. One reason was because they damaged the new window. What's sad is that the measurements to the window is on the form they bring to my home. And according to the technician, the measurement is correct on paper.... Why can't the measurements happen on the window, is a mystery! I think company has a miscommunication problem.... more
