No comparison - the best deal for your buck 3/31/2012

So today I had an issue with my video card dying (third one since i bought it from Dell) and I went to 2 major competitors in the area and their prices were astronomical compared to Dr Dans! I got my computer fixed for less than the cost of a ""disagnostic"" at another site including getting it done THE SAME DAY! Those other places quoted me sometime next week, and as a person going to college online, I needed it done ASAP. So, forget the ""expperss service"" fees of $50 and $100 at the other places, Dr Dans is the place to go! Same day, and less cost. In times of economic troubles, be smart and pay with your smarts! more

Entire family goes to Dr Dan's 1/30/2012

My whole family has been going to Dr. Dan's for a long time and LOVE it. They give wonderful service and the computers we have from them work great. more

Great service, Great price 3/18/2011

The service at Dr. Dans is impeccable! They work on your system fast and give you no B. S. Mario is fantastic! I will go there and have them build my next custom system from scratch without blinking an eyelash-and I have already built two of my own! more

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND VALUE!! 1/12/2011

I have bought 2 complete used systems at Dans. The 1st one lasted me about 4 years. Not bad for the modest price I paid. I'm using another one of his used systems now and am very satisfied, both with price and performance. As for the antivirus program they sell, I have had very good results with it. I would highly recommend them. As for the unsatisfied customers, some cannot be pleased and I think others do not try to resolve the problems without first complaining. more

Very Pleased long time customer 12/11/2010

I was at Dr. Dan's yesterday and made a comment about the bad reviews on Google and City Search. I have been a long time customer of Dr. Dan's since the mid 1990's I have taken all my computers. My parents computers and recommended them to all my friends who thank me for recommending them. I understand that some people expect miracles from Dr. Dan's Computers. They are good just not miracle workers. . Also you must understand that only customer's with bad experiences or high expectations will post negative reviews. Dr. Dan's is my computer repair place and I will always recommend them. 15 years in business and only word of mouth advertising speaks bundles for a business. more

too much hard sell for the antivirus 10/26/2010

They are probably good computer people but wow some of them are downright snotty and all of them want to sell the antivirus they endorse. I thought I found my computer techs but will have to keep looking. more

Look no further!! 10/3/2010

I've delayed looking for a computer shop wanting to make sure I found a good one and Dr. Dan's was worth the wait. Knowing they've been in business 17 years I'm so happy to support a small business with excellent rates! The place was happily busy when I went in (and so easy to find just north of I-25 off of San Mateo with very convenient parking). I've been in several times, have bought 3 used computers from them and had a computer serviced. I've learned so much from the friendly and caring employees, plus the owner was even there to meet, it's definitely the best decision I could have made for our computer problems. more

New Management Comments 9/21/2010

To all Dr. Dan?s Customers, We here at Dr. Dan?s Computers care very much about the opinions expressed about our service and products and thank all who have posted to this webpage letting us know about your experiences both good and bad. Dr. Dan?s has gone though quite a few changes over the past couple years. We have remodeled, hired new management and customer service/tech staff, and instituted new polices to better suite our customers needs. As a result of these changes we have received numerous complements on how helpful our staff is and how good the remodel of the shop looks. Like any other business we do receive complaints, have misunderstandings, and slight errors from time to time. When situations go astray we try very hard to work with our customers to achieve an equitable solution. It is very rare when an issue with our service or products can not be resolved, but we do want our customers to feel that they were treated fairly and respectfully. Above all we want a positive outcome with our customers, due to the fact that we do not run advertisements like a normal business. We rely solely on the word of mouth of our customers, and our customers have kept us in business for over 15 years. We know that computers have become a necessary tool in day to day life and that it is very frustrating when they are not working properly. It is with that in mind that we try to educate our customers, offer quick no nonsense service, low prices, and decent low cost systems, for those with tight budgets. We even build custom high end systems, workstations, and servers, and can usually beat the price of name band systems. If we can not beat a price, or provide a service or part, we?ll tell our customers straight out and refer them to someone who can. In many cases we advise customers against certain, not cost effective repairs, rather then take their money and fix a system that is not worth fixing. We install only copyrighted, fully legal and licensed software and when we come across systems with pirated software we advise our customers to their rights and offer them licenses to make them legal. To sum up we would like to thank all of our customers for keeping us going strong for such a good number to years. We have survived the downfall of many of our competitors and hope to grow and provide grate service to many others for years to come. Dr. Dan?s Computers Management Staff. more

Great place for Computer Repair 1/16/2010

Did not pay an arm and a leg for what I needed and they did not try to sell me on anything I did not need. Pros: You will not get ripped off Cons: Location far from Rio Rancho more

Great Place Low Repair Costs 1/15/2010

I have been going to Dr. Dan's for years. It's a great little shop with fair prices on new and used computers and repairs. I came across this web page while googleing for their number and noticed two bad reviews that made me angry enough to post my own GOOD review, to refute their clams. Pros: Great Used Computers Cons: Busy Shop need some patiance more

My Microsoft Key Doesn't Match... 12/10/2009

Dr. Dan and his cronies did some work on my computer... aside from them being outright arrogant and rude, my Windows license didn't match up with the sticker on my computer... shouldn't this match up... if you've got computer problems, I'd go elsewhere... Best Buy maybe? Cons: Dude, where's my license? more

Friendly help, exelent service!!!!!! Dont be fooled!!!!!! 5/30/2009

I went in recently, the place looked much better, keep it up! Just wanted to say when you have a nasty attitude, people generally treat you worse in business and life. I bought a used pc, has worked like a charm so far. They upgraded the ram by double for $10! What a deal. Thanks Dr. Dans ! I will be back when i need something!! Pros: Very helpful and easy on the wallet!! more

Wow, Great computer store 5/27/2009

I went to Dr. Dan's yesterday after finding their info on CitiSearch and despite the reviews I found them very friendly and professional. I don't understand why they have bad reviews, probably becuase only dissatisfied customer enter reviews. I felt I should come back and give them a positive review. Pros: Great customer service more

Improvement deserves a good turn 5/8/2009

I wrote a pretty scathing review a while back. I got a response (see 'comments') about corrective action that was taken. Frankly, that is far more than I expected. Of the two units I purchased there, one is awesome and one ""was the worst."" That part is accurate. However, it was not meant to be a rude comment as much as a fact. To justify your employees behavior by characterizing the customer a certain way still falls a little short. But it's improvement. I'll give them that much. Rather than get defensive about the workmanship...yes, the CPU had a bad hard drive, wires hanging everywhere with no cable ties at all, missing screws on the motherboard, and a missing back plate, because that's how it was built...they should have considered the source and investigated how they might help me and retain someone who had become a good customer. I'm willing to chalk this one up to youthful inexperience (in handling customers) on the part of the employee. I think Dan is trying very hard and like I said, one machine I bought there is incredible. If you know computers and can specify what you want exactly, you can't really go wrong with Dan's. Pros: Overall, Dan's a pretty cool guy Cons: Still learning about good customer service more

Awesome business. Too bad about the bad apples. The Best in Albuquerque 1/4/2009

I am very familiar with Dr. Dan's and have been a very satisfied customer of his for over 12 years. It appears that only people dissatisfied with Dr. Dan's business post to these forums. I have been taking my PC's and laptops to him and have been very satisfied with his work. I am familiar with the Microsoft Accusations which occured in January of 2003 and if you research further you will find that is what they were, accusations. Nothing was ever proven about the case and Microsoft dropped it. As for bdnelson, it appears that no matter what Dr. Dan did he would not have been satisfied. As mr nelson states in his own review, Dr. Dan offered a full refund. What else did he want? THINK ABOUT IT. WOULD HE STILL BE IN BUSINESS IF HIS SERVICES WERE AS BAD AS TWO BAD REVIEWS. He must have thousands of other satisfied customers in order to stay in business in this bad economy. more

DO NOT GO TO DR. DAN'S! 12/5/2008

DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER HERE FOR REPAIRS! This is by far the absolute worst place you can take your computer. After spending $375 for a motherboard repair, Dr. Dan totally trashed my hard drive FOR NO REASON! And, after taking it BACK TO HIM, he offered to pull the motherboard out and giving my money back which would have left me WORSE OFF THEN WHEN I FIRST WALKED IN! Furthermore, he was COMPLETELY RUDE and talked to me as if I was an IDIOT. Pros: ABSOLUTELY NONE! I'm worst off now than when I first went here. Cons: EVERYTHING! I can't believe this guy is in business... someone, for the love of God, teach him what customer service means. more

Be afraid, be very afraid 2/3/2008

Not sure what I was expecting considering the outside of this place, but it's low budget for sure. If you want used stuff, maybe.... but I sort of wonder where it came from. Not the place for me. Pros: not sure at all - maybe low cost but... Cons: small, very small. Used stuff, no selection more
