She is just right for me! 11/12/2010

I entered to her office 5 minutes later my appointment time - but she was looking at my case for 10 minutes before I even saw her. She was nice, concerned and very knowledgeable. I do not believe that she could be rude...or at least how I understand the word ""rude"". Yes, she could be hot, but this is her personality type, so if you prefer shy and apologetic docs - she is not your doc. She spent with me 30-45 minutes and if I had questions she would stay longer. ""She basically throws some drugs at you"" - THIS IS CRAP, she is not an easy prescriber, so if you are looking for kiddie dope - she is not an ""Author"" :-). She is a deep thinker type doc - she reminds me a psychiatrist from the Sopranos. It's a little more expensive, but what would you expect - to get treated at Magnificent Mile by affectionate women and pay 50$? For me it's easier to do introspection with her and in office with lake view than in barn type tiny room of my 350 lbs. ex doc. And she gave me samples for 300$ :-). more

My 1st Visit. 6/8/2010

The DR. was 1 1/2 hours late. I was concerned when I got there (on time) and there was 4 people ahead of me. This was my 1st visit so I expected 1 hour. She did take a phone call during my session. She gave my samples, however they were not for the medication that she told me she wanted to try. The receptionist collects the copay before you can see the DR. Not much interaction, but she was straight and to the point. I did feel very rushed and not able to tell my story in the 12 minutes I had with her. They were polite. Pros: They accept my insurance, gives samples. Cons: Parking, 4 wks for apt, 15min or less sessions, late more

Is she a Pharmacist 3/11/2010

Dr. Albeheary should have opened a medical practice. She basically throws some drugs at you and sends you on your way. She spends less than 15 minutes with you which is not long enough to even give an accurate Psychiatric assessment. She is never on time for appointments, I've never waited less than 30 minutes. Her billing is very very behind so you are treated on month and get the bill 2 months later. I would highly recommend finding a different doctor, one who can fully assess your problems. Cons: Office is disgusting, Long Wait Times more

this lady needs help herself b4 she can help others 4/30/2009

I read some good things and some bad things before coming in for my appointment. Let me tell you i would have had more one on one time and concern from Dr. Phil on tv! She was disinterested and distracted (and late) and the only time i felt she was interested in treating me was when she suggested medication. Just because a doctor is located in a nice neighborhood, doesn't make a good doctor and just because they are a doctor, it doesn't make them a good one or normal and compassionate. Maybe she should be taking the medications that she is forcing on her patients! Pros: she can relate to her patient's problems Cons: because she is crazy and unreliable more

Caring doctor 3/31/2009

I saw Dr. Albeheary for the first time today for anxiety. I'm a bit confused about the negative reviews; I found her very helpful, intelligent and caring. She does ask a lot of checklist questions as other reviewers have said, but I feel I'm coming to see a psychiatrist, not a psychologist- I don't expect an M.D. to carry on lengthy conversations, just diagnose and prescribe. Plus, I am self-pay and she gave me some samples which is very helpful. I am glad I found her! \r \r Pros: Knowledgable, caring Cons: Ran 30 min. behind-but what dr. doesn't? :) more

top notch 3/29/2009

she knows her pills. Keeps her appointments. very positive. Takes my insurance (Medicare plus Medicare suplement. Pros: Very positive Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Intelligent caring doctor 3/18/2009

Dr. Albeheary correctly diagnosed the problem. She confidently assured me that the course of action she recommended for me would help if I kept at it. I had never taken meds before and was having adverse reactions. She told me to hang in there for three weeks and then the symptoms would go away. Although other doctors recommended to go to Mayo clinic to figure out what was wrong with me, Dr. Albeheary knew it was anxiety and never wavered. She saved my life and was there for me during a very dark period. I find her to be highly intelligent, caring, and skillful at what she does. I had seen many doctors for months to figure out what was wrong with me and she was the only one who figured it out. I have been her patient for 2 years now and she is not only concerned about me but how my family is doing also. She may be late sometimes for our appointments but when it is my turn, she never rushes and treats me as if I am important in her day. I recommend her highly! Pros: great diagnostician more

Good doctor 3/18/2009

Dr. Albeheary has good instincts. I've been seeing her for years and she has helped me get firmly back on my feet after an extremely difficult time. She is aware of how my social-economic issues impacted my recovery. She is flexible with scheduling and very kind. I've also heard good comments about her from other mental health professionals. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Helpful 3/17/2009

Dr. Albehery is a soft spoken woman who seems to really think about my situations. She seems willing to work with you if you are willing to work with her.\r She has been very supportive and has extended herself through e-mail. She has waived her fee, given me free medications (when needed) and spend extra time with me when I needed it. \r The appointments are generally very short, but she will spend the time I need. \r With her help, I am learning many things about myself and am working through some tough times. \r I truly appreciate her concern and response to my needs. Pros: Insight and concern Cons: short appointments more

Great narcotics dealer, horrible doctor 6/2/2008

If you are looking for a no-questions-asked pharmaceutical dispenser, this is the ""doctor"" for you. If you are looking for a trained professional to help you address mental illness, do not bother making an appointment here. As a first time patient this doctor scheduled a whopping 15 minutes for my appointment. This surprised me as I thought surely it would take more than 15 minutes for an initial consultation. As it turned out, she scheduled 10 minutes more than she actually used. Even though this doctor had never seen me before and knew nothing of my current/past problems or symptoms, she had written me a prescription after 2 minutes in here office. She asked me to diagnose myself (i.e., I told her I think I having a problem with depression) and then she asked a FEW perfunctory questions about my medical history (i.e., are you alergic to any medications, family history, etc.) and then proceeded to write a prescription for a medication she said I would have to stay on for 3-5 years minimum. She did not ask a SINGLE question about my symptoms or what might be causing these symptoms. As it turns out, I do not suffer from depression but am bipolar. The medication she prescribed would have made my condition worse and likely led to suicidal tendencies. This doctor should not call herself a doctor and I highly recommend that anyone looking for real help avoid her. Cons: Dangerously quick to prescribe more

Don't go near her 3/15/2008

Dr.Albeheary was my daughters' quack doctor who was sent for her by her primary care physician-anoither incompetent doctor. My daughter was hospitalized for more than a week. When she came home she was in worst shape psychologically and we couldn't afford to pay for the prescriptions which led to even more depression. My daughter said this docotor never seemed to be listening to her and offered very little help or hope except to prescribe medication which we couldn't buy. She has been charged thousands of dollars by Dr. Albeheary-we were told by the hospital that she was in our network but the insurance company said she isn't so we are responsible for paying for it--She has been paid her money but she is still asking for more---another greedy doctor that doesn't really care about the health of the patient.! Do not go to her at any time cause you willt find yourself in need of different doctor. Cons: just terrible more

Good Doctor 2/26/2008

Dr Albeheary is one of the best doctor I have ever met . I came from a different country suffering from lonliness and depression . She gave me free medicine and never took any payment from me . As a doctor she is very good , listens to you and remeber your points . She gave her cell number so that whenever I feel depressed I could consult her .She is too good for me. more

Awesome 9/13/2007

As a Nurse suffering with panic disorder and chronic anxiety, Dr. Albeheary is my favorite doctor. She is incredible! Always keeps her appointments, always offers sample meds if available, and honestly cares for you. I would reccommend her to anyone! Pros: honestly listens, great staff, and is very friendly Cons: nothing! more
