I went to Dowdy's years ago and was taken advantage of. A lot of time has passed since then and they are conveniently located, so I though I'd try them again. BIG MISTAKE! Once again, taken advantage of. I was overcharged for an alternator and not given credit for the core. I called them when no credit for the core appeared on the statement. After stuttering, Tyler told me that the credit for the core was built into the new alternator. If that's the case, they also built themselves a profit of 80% into the new alternator. I will never go there again. I know a good mechanic across town that I will never again forsake. Stay away from these guys. more

I was a provider to them, selling oil to them, and I just saw how their shop was run, how their business was, and how they treated their customers, and I decided to take my car there. I've been in there three or four times and every time, they've diagnosed the problem fairly quickly. They didn't recommend fixing anything that didn't need to be fixed and had the work done on time. I really don't have any complaints about them at all. What I'm really looking for when I'm going to a service shop is somebody who's honest. I'd rather somebody be honest more than anything, and they're honest, from their mechanics to DJ. I never felt like I was being sold something I didn't need or being set up to buy something that wouldn't help me down the road. more
