Lousy experience. Second time I've been to Double T Diner in Catonsville. On my first visit several months ago, I was ""impressed"" by the rudeness of the staff; very unfriendly; very brusque. The food was okay but nothing special. As a recent West Coast transplant, I was disappointed. I had heard this place was a big Baltimore institution! If it is, this town is in even worse trouble than I thought! At 5:00 this morning, 9/3/10, on my way to work at a nearby government complex, I decided to stop in for breakfast (it was the only place I knew to be open at that hour). As soon as I entered, the foreign-sounding ""hostess"" (she looked and sounded Greek or Turkish) ignored me and carried on a gossipy conversation with a fellow female employee. I had to interject and ask for a table for one. Greek Lady handed me a menu, continued talking to her friend, never said a word to me, and seated me at some claustrophic tiny table, surrounded by three adjacent larger tables full of very rowdy, profane young thugs. My restaurant ""companions"" all sounded drunk; acted very belligerant; engaged in ""f*** this!"" ""f*** that!"" ""go f*** yourself!"" kind of ""conversation."" Very intimidating. I wondered why Greek Lady or one of the other brilliant restaurant managers didn't call the cops. This can't be good for business, I thought. Then I found myself waiting over five minutes; maybe ten, before the only waitress on duty - or so it appeared - chose to greet me. Actually, she just passed me to refill the coffee cups of the thugs around me. When I tried to get her attention as she retreated to the kitchen, she said, ""I'll get to you when I can, okay??"" That's when I said, ""Yeah, right!"" and got up and left. I passed by Greek Lady, still yakking away to her friend (Hey, Constantinople Babe: Would it kill you to get off your FAT ASS and serve coffee?), and said, ""Your service SUCKS!!!"" I will never go back. Furthermore, I will never recommend this GHETTO RESTAURANT to anyone again as I have in the past.
