Way over priced for their services, I was told that I needed $1800.00 worth of dental work and that was after my insurance. It cost me $600 and some change for a deep cleaning, I decided that the rest was way to much for the services that they were saying that I needed done. I applied for a credit card and when I called them to credit the credit card for the work that I have not yet done the ""office manager"" Fariba Dodgostar said I have to come in to get the amount credited back to my account. She was over talking me and has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS what so ever!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! They OVER CHARGE all they care about is getting paid, nothing about the patient.\r Oh and my husband got an x-ray and exam, the dentist told him he needed to see a specialist NO CLEANING OR WORK was done and they charged $200.00 more

So I went in to Dossett Dental to get my Groupon redeemed for an exam, xrays, and whitening. Was taken in - had xrays done, and then they hygienist came in. She said that I needed a deep cleaning. Before the dentist came to see me, the office manager, Fariba Dodgostar, came in and saw me and said that it would cost me $850. I didn't consent by signature, not even verbally, and the hygienist was about to start the deep cleaning on me when I said that I didn't want it because of the cost. This was ALL before I saw the dentist. Then the dentist came and told me I needed a filling replaced with a ""build up"" and crown. Then when I asked about the whitening I had paid for with the groupon, they said that in the groupon, it said if I needed a deep cleaning, that they couldn't do the whitening. So they basically charged me $100 for an exam and xrays - something that they offer for free anyways (http://www.dossettdental.com/) What I failed to tell them was THAT I'M A DENTIST. Me needing a deep cleaning is an ABSOLUTE LIE. Secondly, a hygienist CAN'T diagnose that I need a deep cleaning. Texas Occupation Code 262.151 - ""the dental hygienist does not: (A) diagnose a dental disease or ailment; (B) prescribe a treatment or a regimen;"". Also Dr. Susan Koo stating that I need to have my filling replaced with a build-up and crown is over-treatment as well. And I don't need to have my ""deep cleaning done"" before I get a whitening. This is obviously just a tactic for them to get people in the door and see what idiot doesn't look into their treatment planning, and just pays them for extra, unnecessary treatment. Hell, at my office, if someone paid $900 for a not deep cleaning, I would give them a free whitening too. Needless to say I got a refund on my groupon and I am reporting them to the dental board.... more

Would avoid Dossett Dental 3/29/2012

My girlfriend went for cleaning and exam at Dossett Dental in 2011. The dentist, a Korean lady named Susan Koo said my girlfriend needed deep cleaning, a crown, and a bridge. She then sent my girlfriend out to talk with the office manager about the cost. The office manager, a lady named Fariba Dadgostar, told her the deep cleaning would be $900. She then went on to tell her that she needed the deep cleaning because she had a gum infection and that her lower jaw would rot away if she did not get the deep cleaning. The dentist never mentioned she had a gum infection or anything about her lower jaw rotting away. My girlfriend told her she just wanted the regular cleaning and exam and that was all; however, Fabia said they would only the deep cleaning for $900. This middle-eastern lady was not a dentist and here she was making medical evaluations. I asked to speak to the dentist and Fabia refused this request. We walked out of the place in disgust. About a week later she went to another dentist and this dentist told her she did not need deep cleaning at all and that she did not have a gum infection. They did the regular cleaning and exam and everything was fine. I was really angry about what we had experienced at Dossett Dental and filed a compliant with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. They are investigating the matter at the time of this posting. I would recommend everyone to avoid Dossett Dental as I got the feeling they pull this kind of stuff on others. I spoke to my dentist about the deep cleaning and he said it was rarely needed. more

PICK DOSSETT DENTAL 9/22/2011

Dossett Dental was the best experience I've ever had at a dental office. I am seeing a lot of reviews that are terrible and it makes me sad to see because all I want to do is sing it's praises!!! I went to the Dallas office and met with the Office Manager there...she was a very pleasant woman. Her name was Fariba, I think... I can't stress enough how helpful she and the entire staff were in my numerous visits. My teeth were a very sore and embarrassing subject for me. I rarely smiled and when I did I would cover my mouth without even thinking about it (mostly out of habit). I made the appointment for the free exam and xrays and Farina came in and was very honest about what needed to be done and all of my options. I decided to get the veneers because it was something I had dreamed of for years. She let me know of a program called Care Credit and much to my surprise I was approved. I made my appointment that day for the following week. I was in and out in a matter of 3 hours with an new set of teeth!!! Granted they were the temporaries until I got my permanent veneers but I already couldn't stop staring at myself or SMILING! I can't tell you how much my life changed. Fariba CHANGED my LIFE!!! If she hadn't been so helpful and basically held my hand through each step I wouldn't be where I am today. I can't thank DOSSETT DENTAL enough... I have and will continue to refer all of my friends, family and even strangers to this office more

worst dentist ever 10/27/2009

This is the most horrible dentist ever. Not only did I catch them padding the bill for my two daughters' wisdom teeth extraction by $3000, (it took me six months and the threat of a lawsuit to recover it!) but almost everything they have done has had to be fixed or repaired. A root canal for my daughter was done improperly, and she has to have another one. A simple $60 filling for me turned into a $1200 crown 2 years later because they failed to get all the decay out (there was no other hole in the tooth, so the dentist knew it had been improperly filled). They also told me it was ok to come only once a year for cleanings, since my gingivitis was 'under control' but when I came back, they claimed I needed a very expensive procedure that included 12 shots in my gums. I was told not to worry, insurance paid for it. If I had come in for the 6 mth, it wouldn't have been necessary I feel. They just wanted the extra money-I guess they don't make much on teeth cleanings. Cons: dishonest more
