I visited Donatelli's for the first time this Wed. night. Very nice restaurant, piano bar, bruschetta, pizza and wine. I was ready to tell all my friends about this wonderful place that seemed hidden away. I was given my bill, placed my charge card in with the bill for the waitress. She picked up my friends bill but not mine, so I put the bill holder up on my friends so she could pick them up together. A few minutes later I go to sign the receipt and no charge card. I told the waitress my card was missing and she told me there was NO CARD. I search my purse, billfold and no card. I remember putting it in with the bill. I told her I am sure I put my card in with bill and described my card..... the next thing I know I have the OWNER of the restaurant in front of me yelling at me because I have accused the girls of STEALING my card. ~ My card had fallen on the floor (found by one of the waitresses there), I then notice, the plastic piece in their bill holder is torn. Must have fallen when I placed it for the waitress to be able to reach it. The OWNER told me ""I have more money than you will ever have"" not sure what that was about, and told me I needed to apologized to his girls. Not sure what he was told by his GIRLS, but I never raised my voice, or accused them of stealing. THIS WAS EMBARRASSING AND TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR. Will never go back and as far as his money....... LOL more

After reading about the horrible experience of another fellow vendor that has had the unfortunate occassion to have worked for Don Baker, I felt compelled to share ours. more

I will try to make this short we all know that if you push the right button any one can be a bitch .... however, when you call and wake me up and start talking biz and money, I pay close calm attention this is what I do for a living so no attitude want to make things right ...the first call came from Barb the wife the other owner talking about a bill we had we left sat. night. I paid the bill...we packed up did the idiot check Tony my right hand on keys doubled checked with the bartenders all is good, Good night. I am being blamed for a bartenders mistake. come to find out the bartender on their own voided the bill with out me knowing . I always clear with any venue what our allowance for drink and food are at the beginning. The bartenders said nothing to correct me . we have played there since April of last year its been 3 drinks each and food I rarely ever took food wasn't that great, took my mom for the first time and she had a rock in her food hmmmm anyway so I say I'm not really understanding what?s going on... keep in mind now I am calm why would I argue I always do the right thing after all this is how I pay my bills so come on ...she said would you like to Don ...sure in waiting for his call I call my guys tell em hold on to their checks because something weird is going on...I get a call the mes above didn?t listen completely so I called him... his cursing and loudness were (I had to take out the bad potty mouth in order to put this up the f bomb was used )in the phone conversation which really wasn't because I barely got a word in edge wise ...so he canceled my gig for next month ok no big deal .... I called Barb back asking and very upset that this is happening, took care of the rest of the money this is 3 shows they have canceled not a great place to begin with asking if they were still going to cancel my gig she said she would talk to Don . ok so still in awe over all this I go outside sit with my mom tell her what?s up and say listen to this mes, holy crap I should have listened to the whole thing ....who you calling girl really so that message pissed me the f off ...Hell no I dont wanna work there ever and will never recommend their horrible place...I am not the first person that this has happened to ...They are very shady people so careful all my peeps who do play there watch your backs because I'm sure I won't be the Last one Hopefully you could follow the story... anytime someone starts trippin like that they cant even pay their own bills so they look to blame someone else ok everyone have a good listen more

any bread that is left over in the basket on the dinner table, gets taken to the kitchen, put in large open container (get hard) and then ground up and used as the breading for their steaks, chicken, seafood. more

When we first went there, we were told we had to sit in the bar area, because we did not have a reservation, even thought the whole dining area was EMPTY! Next, the smoke alarm went off for at least 20 minutes. We never asked received an apology or any kind of comfort from the owner. All we kept on hearing from the bar area, how much everybody hated their job there. Then, the waitress was more concerned with her customers outside the bar idea, and never checked to see if everything was okay. Only conversation was do you want pepper and cheese on salad, and are you ready for your dessert. She forgot the rose at the end of the meal. It's too bad, but we will never frequent this place again. We are only 2 people, but knowledge is king! Pros: Food was excekkent Cons: Service was way off more

I wanted to love this place as it is close, has an attractive decor and the menu at first glance looked interesting. Unfortunately, the service is slow, slow, slow.....the waiter was quite pleasant but slow to take our order. We waited an hour for a simple pasta dish and a dinner salad. The salad was good, but nothing I can't make at home - mixed greens, croutons, sliced onions & olives. I was expecting something a bit more sophisticated for the price. The bread was warm but had no texture at all - tasted like was bought out of shop N save. Not that it was terrible but again, with an expensive salad I would expect bread with a bit of distinction. If you have lots of time and order a pasta you may be OK here. I'll go elsewhere. Pros: great pasta Cons: very slow service, salads overpriced more

We experienced a fantastic evening when we came in to dine. Service was great, food was excellent and then entered into the bar and finished the night off with enjoying the live entertainment. Pros: atmosphere, live music, staff was very friendly more

my wife and i had dinner there last friday and had the best time.we arrived around 7 and had onlya short wait.when we were seated are waiter arrived promtly and took are drink order.the drinks took only a few minutes and to be honest were a littel stong but ok a stiff drink is better than a lite one.we listened to the specials but went with the menue.my wife had ckicken modiga,and i had the beef soto.both were great! by the time we were finshed with are meal the band started playing.we asked about it and the waiter tolds us about the band and took the time to anwser all are questions even though you could tell he was busy,all in all we found the people to nice and poilte and the food was great. we will be going back Pros: service,food Cons: a littel loud when the band plays more

My wife and I were invited to dine at Donatelli's Bistro with some family and other guests for New Years eve , I had heard the pizza was good and since I was starting a diet why not get one good last meal in. We arrive at the restaurant and had reservations for seven o'clock so we waited maybe five or ten minutes( not unexpected on New Years Eve ) , we get seated and the first thing we notice is a condensed menu ( which did not include pizza) with your choice of main course, choice of a side , a salad , dessert and a glass of champagne . We had a group of twelve and the waitress took our drink orders and after receiving our drinks took our meal order ( the waitress should have took our meal orders while waiting for our drinks to be ready but that's my opinion) , after waiting about an hour we finally get our main course and we waited ten minutes before we said something to the waitress about our sides ( some of us already half finished with there main and she comes back only to say that the side of garlic mashed potatoes (which most of the group had ordered ) we're out of ..... HOW DID THEY NOT KNOW THIS WHEN WE ORDERED? Not the end of the world , we all ordered the baked potato and while waiting on that , a card asking that :out of respect for the other people with reservations please limit your time at the table to two hours. We are about ten minutes away from that timeline at this point ! Then the waitress tells us there out of baked potatoes ( you've got to be kidding ) . Another member at our table got a steak that was rare when he ordered it medium, he complained to someone and gets a gift certificate ( hows that help the rest of us?) we had to find the waitress to get our dessert , no champagne was offered , and it took half an hour to get our bills split up( which how hard is it to start by making separate bills ,again my opinion) . I should have walked out without paying but my wife and I knew that wasn't right . We paid but we will not be going back! more

We were able to find a parking spot right out front and were seated immediately. The hostess was pleasant. We were offered a wine menu, but not a menu for other drinks. My husband ordered a beer. I mentioned that I did not see an offering of the drinks. The waitress did not comment. So I asked if they had raspberry lemonade or other flavored drinks. She said they did have lemonade but didn't make any suggestions. We were not given the specials although I heard other waiters and waitresses tell their clients this information. I asked the pronunciation of one of the items on the menu but the waitress ignored me. Our appetizer (eggplant parmassean) was very good. We placed our order and waited approximately 40 minutes for our food. Others around us that had arrived after us were served. The waitress apologized and said she was so sorry our order got in behind the ""party of 13."" We were led to believe she forgot to turn in our order. She kept saying ""I'm so sorry!"" When the food arrived I was disappointed. The salad was mushy and the pasta with ham, peas and mushrooms in sherry sauce was unappetizing. The white sauce was so thick it was as if they forgot to add the milk or other liquid to the flour. My husband's seafood pasta in white sauce had the same consistency. Our bread was not replenished for quite awhile. The busboy was very good. He was polite and efficient. I wanted to just hand him a cash tip but thought he might get in trouble. One of the other waitresses seemed pleasant and waited on her tables in a timely manner. I do not remember the name of our waitress but we were seated at a table nearest the wall to the right of the door as you exit the kitchen door. (There were extra chairs and tray stands right behind our table.). We were there at about 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, October 3rd. When we got ready to leave the waitress kept saying, ""I'm sorry."" Then she said ""I hope you have a great rest of the weekend."" Pros: Parking, Busboy Cons: Waitress service, food more

I frequent Donatelli's for many reasons. First of all, the food is delicious! Generous portions and great tasting! The sevice is the BEST! From the hostess, to the servers, bartenders and bussers, everyone is friendly, polite and eager to please. The Martini selction is incredibly delightful, and the entertainment is always a great time! So what if it's busy and you have to wait a little bit, belive me, it's worth the weight. The owner is a hoot, and I'm a lifelong fan! Come try it out, you wont be disappointed! Pros: Professional Serving Staff. Cons: Sometime's there's a wait. more

My wife and I have tried this place twice now without getting seated. We waited at the front desk area for over 15 minutes each time, no one ever came upfront to seat us. We finally gave up and will not give the place a third chance. Pros: Parking? Cons: No service! more
