I used to be a big fan of Dom DiCarlo's. The Chicago style pizza and Italian beef sandwiches were great and hard to find in this area. However, even the food will never get me to step into that place again. Last week, I phoned in a carry out order an hour in advance. Two simple items, a sandwich and a kid's pizza, and plenty of notice. When I arrived, I noticed right away that the pizza was huge and obviously not a childrens size. Rather than work with me on this, I got rudely told that I ORDERED wrong and basically to take it or leave it. Because my child was waiting in the car, I took it and paid extra for a pizza I did not order. When I got home, I was upset to find that my sandwich was wrong too!! When I called back and requested the correct sandwich, I was again told it was my fault because I'd ordered wrong. Seriously?? Matteo got on the phone and was so rude, yelling at me and not letting me get a word in edgewise to the point that I finally got frustrated and gave up. What ever happened to the customer is always right? What happened to customer service? Not only did they NOT offer to make the correct items for me, they made us pay for the wrong food and offered NO apology. I have never experienced such poor customer service not only from the staff, but from the owner as well. What a disappointment! I guess the staff is just following in the leaders poor example, but Dom DiCarlos has lost a customer for life!
