Honest, fine work...and they have a golden retriever 9/22/2010

I have a Volvo S60. I needed two valve stems replaced. These newfangled cars have pressure sensors on the valve stems and some places will rob you blind. \r \r Not these guys. The price was as reasonable as I have seen. And they also reset a service indicator and repaired my jack for free.\r \r And to top it off, they have a friendly golden retriever who is on the ready to prod your arm with his cold nose while you wait. \r \r 100% recommend. more

My entire family uses Diversified 7/29/2010

I became a customer at Diversified years ago and they've always given me consistently excellent service. I recommended them to everyone in my family and now my mother, step-father, sisters and my niece all bring their cars to Jimmy and his staff for repairs. We've never had cause for complaint out of countless repairs from a variety of vehicles over the years. I've forgotten what bad auto service is like. Jimmy has always let me know exactly what needs to be done and why and has never performed any repair without my authorization. He's taken such good care of my family and many of my friends; I love letting others know about this excellent shop. more

Excellent Service at a Wonderful Price 7/29/2010

I cannot praise Diversified highly enough. I'm a young woman in Athens to attend UGA, and until I found Diversified, I was constantly getting ripped off and given the run around by auto shops. I've been told that my calipers needed to be replaced (4 years ago, for just under a $1000, and they're still perfectly fine!) and I've overpaid for parts and labor just to see my vehicle continue to exhibit the same problems. I had gotten to the point where I wouldn't go into an auto shop without a guy.\r \r I went to Diversified on a whim one day, when I was having some major car trouble and didn't have the time to wait for a guy friend to tag along. I met Jimmy, the owner, and for the first time ever, I actually got great service at an auto shop. They diagnosed my vehicle, gave me a time-frame for when I could expect the repairs to be finished, and kindly brought to my attention other minor problems that I might need to have checked out, but in no way pressured me into getting a laundry-lis more

Worst Service Ever... 3/22/2010

My car broke down and I had it towed to Diversified Automotive in Athens, GA on a Saturday night because they worked on my Volvo before and I've nothing but positive transactions with them. I l left my key in the drop box with a note and followed up with Jimmy, the main desk clerk, Monday morning @ 8 am when they opened. They told me I would receive a call later that morning. I never heard from them. I called them that afternoon to check the status and all I was told was that it was "next" in line and that I would receive a call before they closed at 6 pm. I had to call them @ 5:55 pm that day to try to get another "status" update and they told me that they may or may not have time to get to it. I waited around for most of Tuesday and never heard from them. I placed another call and got the run around. I was told that my car would be assessed in the order in which they came and that I would receive a call soon. When I asked when? They never gave me any specifics. So, finally Tuesday ev more

Highly recommended 5/20/2009

When you look for a mechanic; honesty, trust and honor commitments are three traits that are very important. I've been a customer with Diversified Auto for almost a year and they have those traits. James made sure that my daughter's car was safe and only performed work that is needed. They are highly recommended.\r Tom more

Honest and reasonable 10/6/2008

I've taken my cars to be repaired at Diversified Automotive for over 15 years. They will always tell you what needs to be done before they make any repairs and what the price will be. They charge a lot less than dealers. My only complaint is that sometimes they are slow. more

I had work done here on my Volkswagen after I got tired of taking it to the dealership. While they weren't able to save the injured (aka lemon) car, they were very kind to let me keep it there a long time while I was trying to arrange for it to go to a vehicle donation program. more

Avoid this place! 1/19/2008

If you need your Volvo repaired n Athens GA you may be directed to Diversified. After many encounters I advise extreme caution. Be specific in writing *before* you leave your car about what they should or should not do, get them to explain what needs work and why *before* you authorize anything. I got hit with a whopping great bill for work they claimed to have done but which left my car worse tahn it went in and, worse still, left it dangerously undrivable. My complaint was met with the assertion that they "had worked on it"--not PLEASE NOTE that they had repaired it!!! One of the mechanics advised me not to drive the car *after* this work which cost $800. Further work was apparently necessary to make it driveable they then said, bringing the bill to $2000+ for repairs not noticed at all on a recent check up. Keep records, sure. Find another auto shop even better! These nice guys can't be trusted. more

Honest and reasonable prices 12/29/2007

I have an older Volvo V90 (1997) and Diversified has repaired my car over the years...mostly brakes, but other service related check-ups and "check engine" problems. They've always been honest about what needs to be done and prices have been reasonable. Work has been very good. They don't keep records on what was done though, so keep your records so you can say..."No, that timing belt was replaced "X" months ago." more
