Always dissapointed 3/21/2012

This store has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. I attended their grand opening sale last weekend featuring a few guns on sale, after waiting in line for 45 minutes I discovered that the guns they advertised as on sale werent even in the store. They hadnt even recieved them, after being foolish and perchasing them, being told they would be in, in a matter of days. I have still heard nothing from the store. If anyone knows anything about buying guns in California it is not an easy endevor! Dont go to this store. more

"So all in all I believe I got a great deal as far as customer service" more

customer service was excellent 9/28/2010

Price is standard, but customer service was excellent. It was my first time shooting a pistol, so Matt recommended a glock. The gun had little recoil and was easy to operate so it suited me and my girlfriend perfectly. He went through the shooting protocol in detail with us and made sure we understood so when we started shooting, I felt very confident. I would definitely go there again to shoot something more badass. more

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 7/24/2010

I went to this store to purchase ammunition. I waited twenty minutes for somebody to acknowledge my presence only to find out they are 20% more expensive than other shops. I did not feel comfortable with the employees working the counter, i felt more like an imposition than a customer. more

Terrible Customer Service 2/1/2010

Terrible Customer Service, long phone tree that defaults to the sales department. Sales Reps don't listen, are rude and are only interested in the sale. Avoid at all costs. more

DGM Does me right!!! 12/21/2009

After looking everywhere for a good deal on a Bereta A391 Xtrema2 w/Kick Off stock I called Robert at DGM and he made me the deal of the century! I actually felt sorta bad about getting such a good deal, so I bought more stuff to make it better for both of us. I usually try to get there right at openning so I can get in and out fast. When I build my Bench Rest Gun Robert will get first crack at the components. Pros: Price, location, hours, Cons: Store is usually swamped since Obama more

When you have a captive audience.... 11/21/2009

This is the closest shop to me, so I often try this one first when I am looking for something. The service couldn't be worse. There is one guy in there who seems to know what he's doing. The rest, I am not so sure about. Terrible attitude from a couple of the younger guys that I have had to deal with in the past. This could be a great local small shop. but it isn't. It's a local "if I have to" shop. Pros: Decent location Cons: I question some of the help's knowledge more

I'm never had a problem at DGM. What's up? 4/16/2009

I've bought a number of firearms and a lot of ammo over the years from DGM, shoot there regularly, and have my guns worked on by Robert (after Tim Lafrance moved away). I've always had excellent service, but I don't mind waiting to be served, generally know what I want, and am not afraid to negotiate on price. The sales staff experiences a fair rate of turnover and the knowledge base and customer service could sometimes be better, but I've always been satisfied with how I've been treated. As for the complaint that the gunsmithing takes a long time, you'll find that to be an issue with many gunsmiths. I think Tim had one of my guns nearly 5 years. You just wait and deal with it. If you need a gun turned around quickly, then you need to specify that upfront and get a firm commitment date at the outset. If you don't have priority, then expect to wait. As far as the quality of the work, I've always had good results with any gun that Robert has done for me. They all work reliably, which is what really matters - at least in a carry gun. Pros: Good selection of firearms & ammo, attached range. Cons: Sales staff sometimes could be more attentive to customers. more

Decent... 2/17/2009

I'm a local gun cheater, as far as not staying in one specific store to buy everything. I drift and see what everyone has to offer. This place has a lot to offer and decent prices, as far as the customer service goes, treat them as you would want to be treated. Another small tip, it's usually incredibly packed in there. Don't just stand around all day and aggravate yourself because you had to wait for the understaffed shop. Put yourself in there shoes as far as retailing. If you had to stand there all day, with no sort of break what-so-ever, with a room full of people mixed as being disgruntled from waiting and people who are genuinely happy to be around a few firearms. The employee's are most likely going to be a little fizzled out and also, would probably greatly appreciate someone who has patience or enough common sense to come back if need be. It's not going to be the end of the world if you have to go back the next day, and second off if you're expecting a red carpet entrance and everyone to give you a backrub as soon as you walk into the store, you don't belong in a gun store. Pros: decent prices, funny people Cons: long waits, too many "tacti-tools" reside around there more

Poor Service 2/7/2009

I went in today (02-07-2009) to begin purchasing a new weapon for teaching my kids to shoot with. I waited around for a good 5 minutes while the staff helped other people. Not a big deal. After the other customers moved along I stepped up to the counter expecting to be helped. I had to wait until the counter help was done telling a joke to another employee and avoiding eye contact... When he finished I specified what I was looking for and caught attitude from the guy behind the counter about what I was asking for. I felt like I was bothering him. wth? When he finally finished quoting me a price it was a good 15% higher than what I had received from other stores in the san diego area. I had pretty much been done with the idea of buying from this shop before he even gave me the price. Pros: cannot find one. Cons: poor service. overpriced. more

customer service trainning need @ DGM 2/6/2009

i don't think i would buy another gun from these folks again. At the time i purchased the gun there wasn't really any problem, because i knew what i wanted so i went in did the paperwork, and even paid for it on my first visit, and was on my way. When it came to pick up the gun (after the 10 day wait perio) i was shocked at the service that they were giving me......i am spending almos 1K in DGM and i get treated like a circus monkey. let me just say that if i would have encountered that same service the first time they would not have a penny from me. I know gun sales are up and gun stores are busy, but after this fizzles out and things are back to normal they will feel the affects of the service they provide. Pros: lot's of parking, good hours Cons: customer service stinks more

Do not recommend. 12/7/2008

I do not recommend DGM for any type of gun smithing. It takes years, yes years, before you will ever get your gun back. The work that is done is fair at best. Just seems like the gunsmith does not take pride in his work. more
