Dirk's Dry Cleaning

We use them regularly and to date have been pleased. However, I just picked up my king size comforter and noticed that it has been ripped and BADLY sewn back together. Not only did they not mention it when I picked it up but they charged me for having it laundered as well. At the very least, I should not have had to pay to have it laundered. . . they just tried to tell me that I brought it to them with two holes which I did not - it was brand new and that the sewing took a long time and I should be glad they didn't charge me for the sewing service. . . just lost our business. more

At first I was charmed by the easy drive-thru and seemingly friendly service, right up until I had an issue. After getting home with a pick-up I noticed a sweater missing, it caught my eye that the pink copy had been marked over to reflect one less sweater than I turned in, howerever the original receipt showed the correct amount. When I called I was told I was lying and laughed(yes, laughed) at. I kept my cool and firmly (I had to repeat it numerous times to get him to concede) told him that it was an apparent loss on their part and they would have to replace it. I even asked him check around for, I simply wanted my sweater back. He never left the phone. When I pointed out that it was obvious he had changed the receipt by placing another copy over it as the original read differently, he agreed to replace the sweater. The next day I received a phone call saying the sweater had been found. Dishonesty like this is intolerable. more

Issaquah Dirks Dry Cleaning. I have gone to Dirks Dry Cleaning on Gilman in the Clock Building for many years, at least 3. One time a gal who worked there very short term told me he was ripping off customers. Now she is magically not there. Last year the main guy who runs the place measured my new pjs wrong and when I sat down after he altered them or had them sent off to be altered they rode up my leg rather far. I gave two pairs away. Recently some friends gave me 5 pairs of slacks so I had them altered as well. As my legs are short so most jeans or slacks do not fit me without altering them. All turned out but one pair. He once again measured wrong and they did not touch the top heel of my dress shoes. When I sat down friends were joking that I needed purple socks to go with them they rode way up my leg. So after paying $17.00 I was bummed. Alteration and dry cleaning charge) I took them back and told him I was upset and they needed to be let out more. Told him at that time I was not planning on paying. I went in a week later today and they were ruined, a brown line where they removed the hem was showing, And he expected me to pay for the second alteration that he measured wrong. I was so upset I left the slacks and told him no I was not paying. I would not go there and do not plan on going again. He will not accept responsibility when he is wrong. And I had to eat the cost of $17.00 and now out a pair or ruined slacks. I want to reiterate I am poor I have had health challenges and am not wealthy so this was very upsetting to me. Dry cleaning is expensive, thats why I try to avoid clothes that require dry cleaning. But somethings like wool sweaters and suits, you have to dry clean. So I go to Dirks dry cleaning in Issaquah. We usually wait till we get the coupon mailers or books in the mail. Dirks usually has a coupon in there, so we end of saving some cash. What not to like but to save money!!! more
