I want everyone to know that if you go to Details Salon you will look Fabulous! The place is small, yet comfy, and not stuffy at all. I saw a few stylists there before I decided to stick with Jesse, that girl is good! She can do anything. I totaly recomend going to see her. The first time I ever had my hair cut from an upscale salon was at Details. I thought it may be a little pricey, but after my experience there it was well worth it. All of the girls are very professional and know what they are doing. I sit down, have a fresh cup of tea, and off I go into a relaxing scalp masage, and hand and arm massage. Feels like all of my stress from the week has been wisked away. This is like a small slice of heaven. Then a professional consultation then a great scissor cut. Then eyebrow wax. I am a rugged guy that doesn't really care about hair or eyebrows but after looking in the mirror for the first time after my experience at Details, I feel and look amazing!! Went to Details in Feb., and received the worst hair cut ever. Gloria the stylist, was late, and unprepared. She had to hunt down a dryer. Second time going to Gloria, and just wanted a trim. I ended up w/over texurized short hair. Gloria told me, my hair is too thick. I had asked her not to texurize before the hack job. I was not shown the back of my head, she was running late for the next victim. I went back to get my hair even out in some areas. The owner Emily made an effort. I sat down and she took a few nips, and wanted to send me on my way. She let me know that was all they were going to do, and the next cut would be $50.. Shame on her. She also blamed my hair, for being thick in the back. I see a trend here..blame the hair. I requested that the other owner call me. It took awhile, but he did called. He told me, that in 6 mos. I would not remember this lousy hair cut. Also, he said that he has had many a bad hair cuts in his salon, and Emily is the go to girl to fix them up. He ask; What do you want? I said, I would like my money back. He said he would go broke if he had to refund bad hair cuts...the only honest thing he said! I love Details! This is the place to go get your hair done on the westside! I've been to many of the girls and love them all! The salon is beautiful and the girls are so nice! Beth is awesome for getting your color done! She made me a blonde and a brunette and I loved both of them, beth is an expert at coloring! Jessica and Jesse are great especially for cuts! Also the salon has wine now and its the pefect touch for the end to a long days work just relaxing and getting your hair done and drinking! I also had a facial with Christine and I have told everyone about how great it was and she is the only one I would trust with my skin! Her bikini waxes are amazing too! I have been a client of details for about 2 years now and have enjoyed my experience with the service. I have hopped around some bit between stylists at details, however i must say it is refreshing to see such a variety of people in one place. Since I have not ""stuck"" with one girl, I have gotten to know a little bit about almost everyone working there, and besides their personalities, each of their styles from their clothes to their hair to the way they cut is individualistically unique. If you start out with one girl and find she's not for you, don't be afraid to go to another, they don't act competitive and infact are understanding and respectful that possibly their style just isn't right for you. I went to Details yesterday to have my short hair cut into a much shorter cut. I had been growing it out to try something new, decided I'm just not a long hair person so decided to go back to a really short cut. Chelsea was my stylist. She cut my hair twice during the growing out phase and the cuts were fine, so I assumed she could do the super short cut for me. My former stylist moved to Columbus by the way. I had a picture of a style I liked, she said she could do it, and started cutting. The back was fine and I felt good durng the cut, but when she cut into the top, she did not even come close to the picture I brought in. I have been getting short cuts for my entire adult life and I have never had such a bad cut. The top is butched off, there is nottexture. I complained and she just kept trying to texturize it and making it worse. I ran to the restroom after and asked the waxing girl to get someone, another stylist came up. She attempted to fix it some, but I got the feeling she wasn't comfortable with short hair either and didn't know how to create any volume in the crown either. Now I have flat, helmet head hair that is going to take two or three months to get it long enough for me to go somewhere else and get it fixed. I did appreciate them comping the cut, but I feel that anyone interested in a short hair cut should reconsider going to Details. I will never return! I have been going to Christine at Details Salon for the past 2 years. I am VERY picky when it comes to my eyebrows so when I moved to the west side I was nervous about finding someone. My friend told me about Details and found it was an Aveda salon. I decided to go and booked Christine for my eyebrow wax. Let me tell you, she rocks! They look so awesome and she NEVER waxes them too thin. I have had aesthetician's before wax them thinner every time I went back. I used to be a devote Details customer. Every 10 weeks as scheduled I was in... I LOVED my stylist, KYLIE. Unfortunately, Kylie moved to Arizona and while I felt horrified going to someone else I was assured (by her) that everyone there was utterly fantastic. I tried Jesse shortly after she left and my hair looked horrible. Very punk. While cute, is totally NOT my style. I decided to give it another try and go to their Senior Stylist, Jessica. What a difference! Jessica actually asked me where I got my hair cut last because it was SO uneven and she looked at me in disbelief when I told her Jesse from the same salon had cut it. I have been going to Details on and off for years. I recently went in again and it was amazing! The atmosphere was great. They are now under new ownership and boy does it show! The spa was completely remodeled and the salon floor is apparently next. It was just so nice. As always the amazing scalp massage is to die for. Everyone there is so friendly and so bubbly, they really make you feel comfortable! I highly recommend going there. I have been going to Jessica Calvin for 2 years at Details Salon. She exudes professionalism, perfection, and her work is outstanding each and every time. For those that are concerned with price, well I am sorry because her cuts are $40 and I feel that this price is an understatement for the work that she so precisely executes each and every time. Not to mention, the prices for color are extremely comparable to any other high end salon in the area, the difference with her is that you will get perfectly placed color. So to sum it up, you get what you pay for and Jessica is an unbeatable example of that with her outstanding abilities in hairstyling. So please ask for her, I have sent an entire group of us from family to people I have grown up with to her and she laughs every time we send another because there have been so many that she feels she knows all of us now and who could possibly be next... I have been going to Details for several years and have been through many stylists there. The ones I really like end up leaving (Nesreen, Kylie). My last visit 6 months ago I left looking a chop job. The stylist did not listen to what I wanted and gave me her ""signature"" hair cut. I swore I would not go back but decided to give them another try with another stylist who was a little higher priced than I normally like to pay. In a nutshell, the next day my co-worker asks, ""Did you cut your bangs again?"" Out of sheer embarrassment that I would even waste $40 to look like I do right now, I told her ""yes."" Back to growing out another bad cut. In addition, I don't like the new approach the stylists take to sell you every product they use on your hair. I have been to Details a total of 3 times. My first expirience was amazing. My hair looked phenomenal! My hair is really blonde, white blonde. If you want the white blonde look, I woudlnt reccomend going here to get it done. I went back for just 2 inches of regrowth, and my hair was yellow!! I went back for a correction and now my hair is gray! They are very pricey too! I paid a lot of money to have gray hair! Very unsatisfied. Im afraid to say I will never be back. Alright, a few weeks ago I went to Details where I went to only after reading everyones reviews. When I read about ""Jessica"" charging high prices I was worried I couldnt afford it, but when I called and asked the prices for ""Jesse"" (NOT Jessica) I found out that she is really reasonable! So, I was all nervous (who chooses a stylist on a strangers review??) but this chick was all rubbing my scalp (all t.v. show style) and asking me what I do and what I like, etc, all friendly. All in all, I had a kick butt experience. Possible, the best couple of hours out of the house that week (for those with kids, you understand). My hair still looks fabulous. I have been going to details for years, Jessica has been doing my hair for the past year and I just LOVE her, while I havent been too happy with the salon as a whole latley, (a few unfriendly people) Jessica has ALWAYS been a sweetie and really listens to what you want in a hair cut, unfortunatley her prices keep going up :( and hopefully they wont go up again or I may have to find someone else. Jesse, a stylist, is simply amazing. She listens, she is funny, and gave me the best cut and color ever. She listened to me and actually told me what I wanted wouldn't look good for my face shape.
