Best Salon in Chapel Hill 11/4/2011

After my hairdresser of 10 years moved, I tried Destenee Salon, and I couldn't be more pleased! I've been going here for over a year now. Bobbie, the owner, is the best I've seen with color services. My hair is in better shape than it has ever been! If you're thinking of making a change, you won't be disappointed with this Salon, and Bobbie! more

desperate 9/8/2011

Just recently moved to this area, went to several local salons and sadly very disapointed!. Decided to try Destenee and OMG!! Hamza was AWSOME. He gave me the best cut and color ever. Hamza was very professional, told me what my hair can and won't do and cared about the health of my hair. I am dedicated to Hamza, He is thee best in Chapel Hill!!! more

Great service, happy hair! 9/6/2011

I first went to Destenee because a friend bought me a gift card there. I booked services with Whitney and was excited to receive my first ever color treatment--highlights! I also planned to cut off 9 inches of my hair to donate... so we are talking MAJOR TRANSFORMATION here. I had just finished grad school so it was TIME. Whitney couldn't have been a better person for me to see. We talked through my planned changes, she made some suggestions for color, and we got started. A couple hours later I looked like a new woman. The hair cut and color looked amazing!!! I've been back several times since and never disappointed. Whitney and I have great rapport, and I've been very pleased with her service. Even though prices are a bit high for me (still in the student-budget mindset!), I feel it's great value for money and would highly recommend Destenee!!! Headed back there soon... more

Not Impressed at all 7/19/2011

I just was there this past Friday for the first time. I made appointment a day ahead. I arrived 10 minutes before the appointment. The place was dead. I DID NOT found anyone at the front counter till after like 5 minutes to check me in. My hair stylist ( Hemza?) finally called me for the haircut 10 minutes after my appointment. The WORST haircut ever. I don't really know why I paid that much to make my hair and my self-esteem get worst. I really regard going there. I am emotionally scarred for next few weeks for sure. more

Best Hair Cut I've Ever Gotten! 7/18/2011

I made an appointment with Wayne to get my hair cut, and only brought him in a tiny picture. He spent an hour and 1/2 cutting my hair, and it was BY FAR the best haircut I've ever gotten in my life (and I'm 25!)!!! Thank you so much, Wayne! I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair before!!!! I'll be back, no question! more

Great Hair Experience 6/16/2011

I called to make an appointment for a consult for color and cut and got Wayne. Wayne is very knowledgeable and knew exactly what my hair needed to make it look natural and healthly. The following day Wayne did my color/high and low lights along with a treatment. I have had so many compliments on how nice my hair and color look. Thanks so much Wayne!! See you next time!! more

Extremely Talented! 5/20/2011

I called in to schedule an appointment and was told it was with Wayne. At first, I was nervous because he looks like he lives in the gym, but it soon became apparent that he knew what he was talking about. I picked out a picture and showed him what I wanted. He went to work and colored and cut my hair perfectly. Thaks Wayne, see you in 6 weeks! more

Wayne is Amazing! 5/17/2011

I booked an appointment online and after reading Wayne's profile, decided to go with him. He was warm and friendly right from the start. He listened to what I wanted and made a few suggestions and we formulated a plan. Every time I've had my hair colored in the past, in turned red. Usually, I have to go back several times before they can get the formula just right, but Wayne got it on the first try. I was very pleased with his efforts and willingness to listen. The results were phenomenal! I'll be back and highly recommend Wayne to anyone that may be reading this. more

Painless Brazilian wax 5/7/2011

I had a Brazilian wax by LaTrelle this morning. I've had a bunch of them before, but this one was pretty much painless! It did take a while, but at no point was I uncomfortable at all. Highly recommend LaTrelle if you're a baby about Brazilian pain!! more

Nice experience 3/1/2011

The owner is nice, suprisigly has soft voice and willing to listen to you. I had a color job with Brielle. When I saw her and her pretty styled hair and color, I thought if a stylist can take good care of herself, she knows something. Although she is new and young, she is confident, pleasant and really took over a difficult job! I was very happy with my colored long hair. I recommend Brielle if you have long hair and like a hair trim that is so cutting edge. I wish Brielle a fast move in her career as a stylist. She is talented! more

Bobbie has done my hair for a number of years, however not recently, but I hope that will change soon. She did however wax my eyebrows recently and did a fantastic job! She is a beautiful lady that has my loyalty for as long as she wants. I'll never go anywhere else or see anyone else, she is truly that special! more

Amazing Salon Experience 12/3/2010

I went to Hanza after a terrible experience at a different salon. At the previous salon, the hairstylist not only didn't do what I asked, but made a complete mess of my hair! It was streaky, rusty, and just bad. Hanza was so nice, not phony at all, and really took the time to understand what I wanted. He did a great job of fixing the mistakes, and discussed with me what he could and could not do so that my hair wasn't overprocessed (from just having it done a week prior). I was also able to speak with other stylists, and my impression is that you really can't go wrong. Plus, the fact that they're willing to refund your money if you're not completely satisfied says to me that they really care about the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their clients. I really can't recommend this salon enough. I'm confident if you try it out, you'll leave satisfied. I can't wait to go back! more

Men's Brazilian Wax 11/11/2010

Kristi is AMAZING! An old girlfriend talked me into getting my first Brazilian wax several years ago and now I am a veteran of getting men's Brazilian waxes and have suffered through some very painful ones and ones that were not done well. Kristi's personality is awesome, great bedside manner. She put me at ease being with the whole proceedure The best there is by far! She is very thorough & as pain free as this procedure can be. She is happy and loves what she does & it shows! Thanks! more
