Destenee Hair Salon and Spa - A Paul Mitchell Focus Salon

I went here off the recomendation of a lady friend and sceduled a facial with Miriam. I had no idea that this is what a facial is. I had in my mind that I sit there and someone washes my face. It was more like a spoiling massage fore my face that just so happened to serve a purpose. I'll be a regular at this from now on. I hope any guy reading this will take my advice, Go Now! I highly recommend Destenee Salon and Spa for great hair styling. I've been a client for over a year now, and Bobbie is the most expert stylist I've ever known. She's also one of the nicest people I know, and is always concerned that customers of Destenee Salon have the best experience possible. I know I can rely on her to keep me looking my best. more

Today was my 1st time at Destenee Hair Salon and I loved it! I called today and they got me in with no problem. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience at another salon and that is what brought me here. Brenda did my hair and listened to exactly what I wanted and helped me out tremendously. The staff was so welcoming and incredibally nice when I left. It made me feel so good! We just moved here from out of state and it has been a difficult transition. I am just so happy that I can mark this off of my list. Destenee is my new hair salon and thank goodness for Brenda, my new stylist. Cannot wait to try out all of the other spa choices they offer as well! Pros: Got me in right away-wonderful hair color-the best! Cons: Had a bad experience elsewhere, but it brought me here! more

I am staying in the area temporarily and was in search of a good facial. I read all of these reviews and figured I'd give Destenee a try since all reviews were pretty positive. Was thrilled that they could accomodate me quickly and even more delighted when I was assigned to Marianne for my facial. She did an EXCELLENT job and my skin looks and feels fantastic! I am now going to check them out for a hair cut for me and my daughter---perhaps pamper myself with a mani and pedi, too! Highly recommend this spa. Friendly people and terrific facial. more

I was looking around the triangle area for a place that offered nice service for a reasonable price and I called several place trying to see if they had free slots for the next day and most of the places laughed and told me I should have called weeks in advance. The Destenee employee that picked up the phone was very nice and helpful. They were able to accommodate me and my friend for two gentleman's facials the next day. I was expecting a relaxing experience but the actual facial blew me away. I literally left with a big smile on my face! They have a nice relaxing couch area where you wait for your cosmetician to come get you, they offer you something to drink and they even have mints around if you are afraid that your breath is not at an optimum level. Each person gets their own little room filled with decorations, music and a nice full sized bed to sit on., all snuggled under sheets. The beautician that gave me my facial was also really nice and gentle, explaining every step. I think her name was either Miriam or Marianne, I apologize for the lapse of memory. The best part was that the facial was not only about the face but about relaxing the body as well. Besides the numerous treatments for the face, you get hand massages and feet massages that feel great even though they are short. All in all it was a great experience and I wish I could afford getting one every week:) I am definitely gonna try going there to get my hair cut next time, because everyone was really friendly and respectful. From what I read of the other reviews it really does seem that the owner and staff care more about you than your plastic. Definitely try the salon out!!! It may be a little more pricey but it's well worth splurging a little on yourself! Also you can add gratuity on your credit card so no worries about carrying cash! more

I wanted to find a nice place to get a pedicure and picked this salon after reading the reviews. I called at about 3 o clock and was so pleased that they could fit me in that day! I got lost on the way there but the staff was so friendly on the phone and helped me with directions. The girl that did my pedicure was really helpful in showing me the colors and helping me pick one out. The pedicure was pleasant except that she cut one of my nails too short which caused it to sting really badly whenever she put polish remover on it. Overall I was really pleased with the atmosphere and the friendly staff but I did have one big complaint. Before I went I read their website and found out what all my pedicure would entail. I don't know if the website is just out of date but it says that a pedicure includes a paraffin dip and a hot stone massage neither of which I received. I thought I must have just read it wrong but I double checked and that is indeed what it says. I was angry to pay the same price as the website says for services I didn't receive. I went in today to get a massage, but as it turns out it was a good thing that they were booked up. The owner suggested a gentleman's facial instead. I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Miriam was awesome! that was the most relaxed I'm ever been. I thought they were just going to clean my face, but it was more like a great massage. Guys, give it a try, you'll be suprised at how much you'll like it! more

I am going home to get engaged and at the last minute decided I needed a haircut to look my best. I went to Destenee Salon and even though they closed at 6:00, Abby stayed and took care of me. I have always been one to bounce around and get my hair cut wherever was close by at the moment, but not anymore. Not only did she stay late for me, but she took the time to figure out what I wanted and to make sure she did it right. My hair looks the best it ever has and for once, I can even style it the way she made it look. I will never let anyone else, but Abby touch my hair from now on. Thank you, and by the way, she said "Yes"! more

I was referred to Bobbie by a friend. I have been going to a barber shop for a while and I have been comfortable with that, but they don't do color. I went in to get my grey covered up and she did it perfectly. Since she did such a great job, I decided to request a cut as well. I was completely satisfied with both. Also.....she looks quite a bit better than my barber! Pros: Great service! Pretty stylist! more

I came to citysearch to find my new salon in my new town and I found it! I walked in and this place blew me away. It is beautiful! There was an elaborate arch way leading to the the salon that I thought was a wonderful touch! Lisa did my hair and cut it perfect, then she took me and washed it too! I thought the price was very reasonable and the service was great. I'll be back! Pros: Thumbs up all the way around! more

I am new in town and went to this salon because it is close to my house. I was not pleased with the cut on my first visit so I went back and spoke with the owner and explained what I was not happy about. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't what I had in mind either. She listened to me and sat me down and corrected it. I was very pleased with how she handled it, but then she refunded my money on top of that! I am happy to find out that there are still businesses here that value their customer base and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep them. This salon is one of them and I am now a loyal customer. I would recommend this salon to anyone and I look forward to my next appointment. Pros: Beautiful decor, great customer service! more

I have been going to Destenne Salon for a long time. I gave a wonderful hair dresser ! TASHA.... She takes great pride in her work and most of all she made my hair grow. I've heard about the $10 off from a few girlfriends so we have been talking about trying the salon out. I've since told my friends it's not really worth it! Bobbi did my hair and I feel it was very dated and not worth the higher price compared to other salons! I wanted something trendy and wasn't really happy with what I received. I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I didn't say anything but if you want something more up to date I would go to other salons with the more trendier hair stylist! Sorry to say it! Tip: Judge your stylist by their hair style! more

I reluctantly listened to my girlfriend and got a facial. I have received several massages in the past and loved them, but I was still a little apprehensive about a facial. She bought me a gift certificate so I figured that I might as well. GUYS! Let me tell you.....ten times better than a massage! It was so relaxing that I almost went to sleep, but it felt so good that I fought the sleep off. Miriam did mine and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I just got on here to write a review and I read a few of the other reviews on here. I am one of those cheap people writing a review for my $10 off. I'm not so sure that makes me so cheap since I am writing a true review about a wonderful experience at a classy salon. I had a haircut and color and it came out just like I wanted. I was very pleased and to tell the truth, if not for the $10 off, I probably wouldn't be on here telling you about my experience. I hope the fact that I took the time to do it let's you know that I like the place and the fact that I want $10.00 off means that I intend to go back. Isn't that what is important? I have been to many salons! This is the worst I have ever been to. The owner,Bobby cut my hair and it was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, she was not friendly at all!!! I think she could tell that I was not pleased and was VERY RUDE!!!!!!!!!! I heard most of her good stylist have left the salon because of her!!!! So I'll tell everyone DO NOT GO THERE!!!! My main complaint with this salon is the owner. She is very nice but be careful or she will take advantage of you. I used to be a client of hers until I found out she was overcharging me. She charged me over $100 for highlights with a cap twice(the same price for foils). I only agreed to cap highlighting because she said foils would take too long because my hair is thick. I have since had my hair highlighted multiple times at other salons, with foils, and I haven't had any problems. more

The shop gives customers a discount when they write a good review online here at citysearch and bring it in. So all of these are because of cheap people wanting a $10 discount! I went to get a wax and hair cut... the wax was terrible now I have tons of ingrown hairs, then my hair cut is awful - better paying $10 at hair cuttery. more

I have been coming to this shop for several years and have found the most wonderful hair dresser! Abby... She listens to me and she takes pride in her work. Most of all she does wonders with my uncontrollable hair! She controls it. She has a great sense of humor and is always happy.
